Warehouse deals "Like New" had the most box damage so far of the 4 or so warehouse deals I've bought. Seems like it doesn't matter what the description is, "like new" vs "good," cuz the "good" ones had no damage.

Inside looks fine though; bags are sealed, instructions are cardboard backed. Will put together today and make sure I'm not missing anything.

The hello is going on with the US shop.lego.com?

Maybe I'm just going crazy and/or amazon is selling stuff at a MASSIVE discount lately but:
Robbie House - $329.99
Fire Brigade - $300
Tower Bridge - $380

Oh, I also noticed that the Robbie House on Amazon is 25% off at $150.

Check your region settings. Somehow mine set to Great Britain instead of USA today. Changing to USA fixed prices.

Oh, god. That sounds horrible. I have a hard enough time with the instructions telling apart which pieces should be dark grey or black.

Worst part is that the wife is away for the weekend. She usually was to one who helped me tell them apart. Anyway it looks amazins, now I just need to finish the roof.

Are you guys really that much worried about the boxes? I usually just throw them away.

I've usually been "meh" on trains, but that thing is sexified. Want!

Same.

With all the interior details, its almost like a modular on rails.

And Power Functions compatible!

I think that combined with the sleek look and hot color of it got me. This might be my first train set. And from the looks of it, I might need two to have a complete train. :)

EDIT: With TRU starting their B1G1 40% off sale tomorrow, who thinks they are going to get clever and exclude things like the modulars or bigger sets like they did last time? I know they say no Ninjago, Friends, or Technic. But they always have some random minor sale (like a free sticker or something dumb) to exclude the bigger sets.

Well, that was fast. Now to win the lottery so I have time to build all this...

Gonna do Haunted House before any of these, though.

Oh, and that train, so awesome! So bought!

can I ask a favour of someone of you lego-nerds? I need a picture of one round lego stud much like this

ROUND%20LEGO%20STUDS(2).JPG

directly from above BUT I need it in a high resolution and very sharp ... would someone be so kind to do this for me? THAAAAANKS!!!

(p.s.: I myself do not have a camera good enough, or with a macro setting ...)

So it sounds like Creator Expert is now the new name for the Exclusive sets.

Also it seems that this train was designed by Jamie - awaiting confirmation on that.

Just finished the second floor of the Fire Brigade. As a colorblind person, that was awful, there were two colors which were waaaay too similar for me and I had a really rough time telling them apart. I had to rebuild entire sections because sometimes I got the two mixed up :(

Yeah, I had the same problem. After I had to tear down half the wall to get the bookcase out of there I ended up taking a handful of the pieces to my girlfriend and getting her to sort them into brown and red-brown for me. I had done the sorting myself, and even failed after squinting at each set of pieces under bright lights.

It was easily one of the most frustrating Lego experiences I ever had, and put a damper on what would have otherwise been a fantastic floor to build

Man talk about perfect timing, my wife saw all the motorised trains and displays at the Brisbane Lego Expo this weekend and said "see, if you had all cool moving stuff like that I'd let you keep it out on display". Then they announce this train which is exactly the same train model kit I had as a kid only in Lego form.

I really like the emerald night but maybe this will be my first train purchase, it doesn't look like it comes with any rails though?

Haunted House is completed, and I even added all the polybag ghosts to it. The first floor even has a grandfather clock added now. I might add a clock to each floor just for a goof.

Overall, the set is amazing. A+ for fun, and A++ for displayability. This is one of the best looking display sets I have built this year, but that may be the Halloween season fever setting in. There are so many neat little touches in the build that are so simple, but really cool. Such as how you use the brick texture bricks to make it look like the paint peeling off of the house.

There are some tweaks I would do if I rebuilt it, which is alternate where the boards and shutters hang from, just to add more chaos. I also did not like how you build all the interior trinkets first and then add them later. Many times they are thrown in without warning...you just have to be looking closer at the instructions to see that they add the bat into the step.

But VERY highly recommended set. Just so awesome to see when done, and a very nice change of pace from all the modulars due to how it is constructed.

Now to plan what I want to build to complement the house...

Did you apply the stickers? I'm typically anti-stickers and never apply them, but this set almost seems to beg you to do it. I'm torn if I should or not.

No rails and no power functions, which is how they keep the price low.

PF isn't that expensive, but the rails can add up. I'm going to be bricklink'ing them (or maybe ebay) because LEGO forces you to buy flex track in their packs, which I am not a fan of.

Oh, yeah. This set got the sticker treatment. The window stickers are nice touches. And I love how some windows have glass and some dont.

Speaking of Haunted House, I just finished making the main base hill for my lil diorama. It elevates the house about four bricks, but gives it a rocky hill for it to rest upon. It also extends the front steps a few steps. I left room on the back for a fence (if I have the pieces to do it. Gulp!) and once I add the side and front baseplates it should come together nicely. I will post pics once it is completed. Just having the rocky hill for the house to sit on makes it look a lot cooler.

Makes sense, just a small rebrand of 10xxx

The carriages have a whiff of emerald night about them, so not a surprise if its a Jamie set

No rails is a pain, as Lego's rail packs are not very convenient. I ended up bricklinking a bunch for my maersk and EN - even just for static display you want them on rails.

Power functions ready makes sense. Now they have a PF train motor it's very easy to integrate. Just a shame that it wasn't ready for the EN - adding power to that is ugly

Hi Lego GAF, thinking about buying the X-wing and the Tie Fighter, are they good?

And i've never built a Lego set before, will i have any problems with those?

Wow..the destroyer is awesome...but too expensive!

The X-Wing is a good build. I haven't picked up the Tie Fighter yet, it looks rad but I think I've seen some complaints about the build as you're basically building a good chunk of it twice (the wings, or whatever you'd call them on that). As a potential other option in the same price range I'd recommend the new Republic Class Strikefighter (? the red one based on the Old Republic that just came out, $45). I just built that a couple of days ago and it's an awesome build, looks great (coloring is fantastic) and I really like how the wings fold in and out.

Wow, that street with all the building looks amazing. How many of those are sets?

I get flashbacks from Legoland in Denmark, seeing actual city blocks constructed in Lego.

X wing is one of the most popular sets on here, and for good reason. TIE Fighter is a decent build, but looks amazing when done. I, and a few others, would also highly recommend the Y Wing. Great build and great display piece.

all three will be mine some time soon :)
still need to decide what to get for dVIP

ps. back from a conference that I was at all last week :)

I'm a fan of the game, and this brick-built is fantastic!

Did your display cases make it out in one piece?

I remember this modular from that recent Eurobricks modular MOC contest...

This may be my favorite... great concept!

This picture makes it look like Hulk is bulging out the (plexi?)glass! If so that's awesome, you should try to position his hands up against it!

This one makes me very sad that I missed out on all the modulars before Fire Brigade :-(. What a cool looking display with all of them hooked up. Even if I currently don't have the space to display them like that, I still really wish I had them for display when I move into a larger place.

Seriously, awesome picks (and displays) Brent! I'm assuming you had a good time at the convention?

Also, That new train looks awesome and it's weird that I want it, considering I'm not into trains at all, and haven't really been interested in any of the other LEGO trains before. Then again, the SSD has made me re-consider a lot of the Star Wars ships I said I wasn't interested in before as well...damnit.
