Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus, PSVITA Preliminary Detail

It isn´t a port. It´s a completely new spinoff. The other two games were more like 2,5D sidescrolling brawlers.

Yeah i know, i missed to write spinoff lol.
I insanely love 2d brawlers and i really don't like 2.5d brawlers(except warriors of the night minigame in the warriors and saint seya that in the sections with lateral camera is a good brawler) but i hope this is not a simple musou.

Up to pre-order in the usual japanese stores.

I am wondering if I should go with the Limited Edition. It is 3.200 yens more, which will be more than US$ 45 in difference.

Pre-ordered the regular edition. Can't really justify spending that much on stuff I really won't use more than once (the soundtrack and drama CD).

Dang, I'm very tempted to place an order for the LE. I think I'll just wait until they announce the shop exclusive pre-order bonuses though, if any. The images at AmiAmi are cleaner and nicer looking than the ones at Amazon.co.jp.

Dang it, that upcharge on the LE.

Stil tempted to preorder one on amiami, as even with paypal they don't make you pay until its time to ship...

Oh god, I'm thinking about pre-ordering the limited edition but I don't even have a vita yet >_<

Curse my figure collecting ways.

EDIT: Went for the regular edition for now. If the figures were Nendo's I'd be willing to pay the extra price as I know Goodsmile do good quality figures, but Toyworks only really do trading figures which usually don't look to great IRL.

Ah, thanks for the info @ Toyworks. The figures were my main motivation for going with the LE.

Lol

Man up Xseed and bring this series to the US

It's essentially parody

Amazon.co.jp is now taking preorders for the LE.

Since they don't ship videogames overseas, you'll have to use a forwarding service like JSHOPPERS.com to forward it to you. Amazon Japan's shipping is free, and you can cancel your order anytime you like.

Another alternative is Amiami. They don't have the game up for pre-order yet though.

Thanks.

Boneheaded question, can you just do direct imports through Amiami?

Looking at the LE price and the lack of an artbook and I'm probably just going to import the standard edition. MY ARTBOOK MONEY!!!

They're also usually the cheapest. I get everything Japanese wise from amiami. ^^

Well hobbywise anyway.

Personally I have imported most of my things from yesasia. They're a bit slower than play-asia, but I like the good packaging and the free shipping. Their EMS option is pretty cheap in comparison to other stores... I've also used play-asia a couple of times. More expensive, but a bit faster. Used amiami once - for a figure - and have another pre-ordered. I might try 'em for a game though.

whoa, really? the markup on YesAsia is ridiculous. even with higher EMS shipping from AmiAmi, it doesn't compare to the markup, imo. i only buy from them as a last resort. one major problem with YA is that canceling anything game-related is impossible with them as well. AmiAmi has a similar policy for everything in general but I think they will cancel if you have a good excuse.

I vote for amiami as well. Since they started to ship internationally some years ago (no hardware) I changed all my pre-orders to them. The markup from other stores are ridiculous, plus with amiami you get all the pre-order/first edition bonus, all very well protected, and their service is great.

They have a no-cancel policy in pre-orders, but as long you do not request such things frequentely I believe they will be ok with one or two cancelations. I buy one or two games per month with them, and only once I had to cancel one order and they were very cool with it.

I'll do some more comparison shopping, thanks.

Once had a YA package stolen/lost in the post, and they took good care of me, so that also influenced me in the past...

I'm definitely interested in this, and will pre-order the Limited Edition if possible through AmiAmi, since I already have orders with them and it helps to combine them all into one shipment [to save on shipping cost], but I will wait until the site either lists a pre-order bonus or mentions the "First Press Bonus". I'm afraid if I pre-order now that the item won't be "updated" automatically, and I'll miss out on the bonuses.

AmiAmi is definitely my preferred site, though. I do business with them monthly [spending between $300-$700+], and have nothing but positive things to say about them. Sure, they don't offer cancellations [although they will, if you don't abuse the system and do so sparingly], but then, many of the import shops don't [the only exception, that I can think of, being HLJ].

You will be fine with pre-order/first run bonus with Amiami, even if it is not listed on the item page, they always sent them to me. However, you may wait for any store specific exclusive item, which will be a separated entry on amiami.

How many days does the cheapest amiami shipping option usually take for you guys? Only ever ordered 1 figure - and that got held up at customs - so I can't use that to compare my findings...

not sure, I stick with EMS for everything from them. don't wanna lose any first run preorders from them.

I always use SAL unregistered (cheapest option) because their service and SAL service are pretty reliable (and usually I am not in hurry to get the games, so I can be cheap).

The delivery time varies a lot. I supposed it is related to the schedule of the SAL flights. If you are luck to order near a flight, it will go faster. My fastest time was about 7 working days and the longest it took for a package to come was about 6 weeks.

Thanks for the reply!

While I've ordered many items through AmiAmi [mostly PVC figures/Nendoroids/etc.], I don't import that many games, so I've never done so prior to the First Press bonus being available. Maybe I'll do so now, although for Senran Kagura Burst I preferred CDJapan's exclusive pre-order bonus [the Tumbler] more than AmiAmi [Bookstore Card]...

Bleh! We'll see!

Wow, play-asia pre-orders get sold out pretty fast. Oh well, amiami is good too. Pre-ordered the limited edition @___@

I use EMS since I can't trust SAL. Usually fine when going through customs over here.

So like many of you thought, it is indeed a Dynasty Warriors-like game, as said on Siliconera.

Before the PlayStation press conference in Tokyo, Senran Kagura producer Kenichiro Takaki showed me Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus. The "v" in shinobi is a pun and all of the vs are for Vita, Takaki explained. Since the Kagura series started on the Nintendo 3DS, I asked Takaki why he wanted to make a PlayStation Vita game.

"One of the reason I wanted to make a Vita game is because the Vita is a really powerful machine and I wanted to take advantage of that. The other reason is because I didn’t just want to show off boobs, but I wanted to show off butts too," Takaki said with a chuckle.

Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is different from the 2D beat ‘em up series on the Nintendo 3DS. It’s a Dynasty Warriors style game with online multiplayer. You can team up with up to four players via Wi-Fi, a first for the series. Takaki also told us about the free camera system. He compared it to Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner which lets you rotate to glare at the girls umm… see front and back views.

Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus will have ten new ninja girls. The five revealed so far are from the Death Cram School. Yozakura (pictured above) is Takaki’s favorite since she is a "serious" girl. The characters from Senran Kagura and Senran Kagura Burst are in Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus too bringing the roster to 20 playable characters.

"If you play the game, you’ll see they are all organized into teams. Five girls per team and they have a unifying characteristic," Takaki explained. The art style for each team is the same and each group will appeal to a different kind of player. Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus has 25 missions per team and 100 missions altogether.

Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus will come out on February 28 for PlayStation Vita.

Besides focusing on boobs and butts, I'm hoping they will put more effort into the designs of stages and enemies themselves too >_>.

Pretty sure this is one of the greatest video game quotes of all time.

LMAO! but honestly this game looks rough. It looks like a 3ds game visually. I wanted qHD boobies :/

Wow so after the conversion the LE is actually like 100$ something? Ugh. I love splurging on goofy, niche and often embarrassing stuff like that but with a tight budget atm... I dunno if I can swing it. They don't charge until it ships right? Maybe I'll put an order as a placeholder and see if I can swing it later.. I also have that ridiculous Ni No Kuni LE on preorder as well.

Looking forward to that inevitable "rub the rear touchpad" game mechanic.

T&A THE GAME

It'd be nice if this gets some sort of English release. :|
