Everything about this picture is hilarious. Almost as hilarious as an $80 controller that only works with Gameloft games.
I don't get why you're laughing, he's obviously won the game.

That's how I see marketing people talking. "Did you win the game honey?".

I agree it looks pretty crappy, but perhaps the Gameloft partnership could lead to more unified support down the line than similar controllers recieve. That's probably the best one could hope for with this. IGN has quick look at it:

I'm cut-n-pasting a user comment from IGN. The guy claims to be a developer.

Ok, here's my developer take on this (and pretty much any other 3rd party controller thingy for ios devices)

I'm sure it works great, but at $80, and even at any price, there just isn't going to be a very big user base for these products. Even if you assume 30% of your players will have one (a rediculously high percentage), you're still going to have to develop for touch screen controls for your other 70%. All your testing and tinkering and balancing is going to be for touch controls, not this. Now take into account the fact that there's at least 10-20 devices like this, and they all have to be integrated separately, is it worth it to take the time and money to support them? Especially when Apple's segmentation is becoming rampant (we're getting to android levels here, from one company) and there's already a plethora of devices we have to test on.

Even if Apple themselves were to develop a controller add-on, you still have to assume your average player is playing with just the touch screen. Hell, even if Apple's next ipod touch were to have an analog stick and face buttons built in, we'd still have to develop for the older devices until they're phased out.

I'm glad these companies are pushing out options, but I think if you want a more standardized traditional gaming device, you're just going to have to pick up a vita or be happy with the ios devices as they are.

This is troubling. I just had a conversation with a guy in my office about how bluetooth controller on an iPad could be a game changer. This opens the door for devs to simply treat the iPAD as another screen. Imagine 'the real' Dead Space or Arkham City on iOS for a FULL priced app download. While those games might be just out of the technological range of an iPAD - maybe - consider playing them on your iPAD, with a proper controller, in sparkling retina display HD rez, then playing the same game on app store through your macbook HDMI out to TV, or through APPLE TV/iPAD.

The only Gameloft games I've enjoyed to some capacity are Dungeon Hunter 2, Asphalt 6 (only one I've played in that series) and Order & Chaos. The latter being a very competent and now free to play mobile MMO. The rest of Gameloft's repertoire has been absolute garbage.

You should try Modern Combat 3. Not only is it the best Gameloft game, but imo it's the best FPS on iOS by far. MC4 will be out soon too and I can't wait. I wonder how it will play with....

...this. While I do appreciate what they're trying to do, I think the cost is way too high and the controller looks terrible!

Controls are really, really bad.

Still serviceable though, can't argue the price too much if you catch it on sale! Got it for like $2 or something a while ago, and finished it, bad controls and all. At least it's not an action game, bad controls in a turn based game (which you can adapt to anyway, it's more like quirky controls than poor/bad controls) aren't nearly as punishing as in real time games.

That controller looks fucking terrible. Doesn't look ergonomic at all, and the stick layout is like the DS (i.e. the worst). Definitely not worth $80. $15-$20 sure, but not a chance in hell for $80.

Ok, I don't think I'm alone in wondering...

Where the hell is Infinity Blade Dungeons?!?

I suppose my guess would be holding it back for inevitable iPad mini release next month?

yeah... thinking about playing crimsonheart again. maybe i should check out illusia 2.

i remember kinda liking the first, the platforming was terrible though, but it did remind me of maplestory. The old days.

I am literally shocked at how good Bad Piggies is. Like...threadworthy good?

I'm only 2/3rds through the first "chapter" and it is getting tough. The solutions are genius though, and so satisfying!

It's Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts in 2D using a, in my oppinion, lesser brand.
Missed opportunity there by Rare/MS

Kids vs Goblins is now free for iOS & Mac!

Have fun!

Will try it out, though I'd recommend updating the description text: "Kids vs Goblins for iPhone 4S, iPad 2 & iPad3! Does not run on other devices." iPhone 5? :)

What's a good story game I could play? I'm staying in tonight and want something meaty. Preferably an RPG but even action games, thanks.

Loving Bad Piggies... Just finished off all of the Episode one levels and the bonus stages with 3 stars and found all the skulls therein too. Its funny how your mind get trained to solve things in a certain way, then they give you ballons and everything you know and learnt goes out the window :)
Id love to see something with water for the next 'Coming soon' episode or even some mulitplayer sand boxes for dicking around in. I can imagine that being both frustrating and hilarious at the same time. hehe
More please !!

Thanks for this, I've always wanted to play this so really impressed to see it's available for free!

Just a quick tip though - you really should update the actual app compatibility, it currently says on the sidebar it's compatible with the original iPad, old iPod touches and the iPhone 4 - really not cool for those people who buy the app only to find that it doesn't work.

ps, lol @ this review on the app store:

Anyone who has problems with this game because they didn't read the first sentence regarding compatibility had bigger problems. They don't deserve to play such a great game, let alone be on iOS.
Someone who checks the compatibility of a game but doesn't read the description doesn't deserve to be on iOS? :D

I got a new high score too:

It was during an Orient Express but, still a high score! :)

What boosts are you guys using?

LOL @ your coins. Good to be the king. Can't believe you guys charge 10k coins every time for Orient Express, not to mention the fact the game won't stop shoving it in your face. Ridiculous.

Bought FIFA 13 this morning. So far it plays great. Tried one Online Match and so far I'm not impressed, but again, it was a single match with major lag. Disappointing I won't be able to play online on 3G or 4G at least.

Doesn't mean that you can't get over a billion points without using any boosts or Orient Express. I just did - https://twitter.com/superpac/status/253162910568833024 (The boosts used are normally pictured in the lower right when posting to twitter.)

Yea, shit like this kinda defeats the whole point of high scores.

I am back to playing Puzzle Craft right now, for those that have finished what level do you have to reach for the game to end?

Once you get your castle, you'll get a jillion congrats from your people, but the game doesn't technically end. You can keep going until you buy all the other shit and still play the puzzle areas.
