I think Bendis has progressively gotten crappier, but it's easy to attack a guy on top of a mountain. I may not like all of his writing but I bet he takes his work seriously as a professional.

I disagree. Him being a stoic 'good guy' made me respect him. Whatever his failings were at least he stuck to his guns and was a respectable leader.

I honestly feel that Bendis isn't as bad as people like to paint him to be. It's just he is around. A lot. He has been writing Avengers for 11 years now (I think) and people are tired of him. Him moving on to other books (and not so much of them) is just what the doctor ordered

and I grew up in the 90's watching 90's cartoons. Jim Lee's Cyclops costume will always hold a special place for me (though I like this current one as well)

I grabbed Action Comics #0 yesterday. Great issue and I loved the Mister Mxyzptlk stuff. Was he mentioned or hinted at before the previous issue #12 where the landlady got all crazy at the end?

I guess they could have had these 0 issues planned from the start but I’m wondering if Grant Morrison had this idea all along or just shoehorned it in near the end of his run.

I love Black Spider-Man, but his Avengers left a bad taste in my mouth. Glad he doesn't go to concave, have no idea any self respecting comic creator would go. Unless its all in their contracts they get to take turns with whatever hot CW actress is pushing the latest "nerd" show.

I normally see them because the Comixology twitter account retweets creators and such saying that they have a free issue up. I think they update this page every day with a free comic.

I think Bendis' writing would benefit from staying away from event comics and event planning for awhile, dropping his work load to 2-3 titles (preferably not team books), and just focusing on them.

Technically it was a combination of both Scarlett Witch and Pheonix but both were needed and it was Avengers fault for the Phoenix splitting up, I wonder if the Pheonix is really destoryed or if it's significantly weakened and will take a long time to regenerate?

A benefit of having touched almost no Avengers books with Bendis' name on the cover is that I still consider him a AAA writer who has done no wrong by me. Gives me a glimmer of hope that his X-Men book won't suck a big one.

No, it was that Wolvie wanted to ditch the island and keep the kids from becoming part of Cyke's military. Cyclops wanted to risk everyone's lives to save Utopia. Schism was all about whether mutant kids can be kids or if they are automatically part of an army because of their genes.

It all led from the Wolverine solo story where he is tricked into killing all his kids and he didn't want to endanger any more children.
