Probably like the cube in the image above... it's a concave object, but your brain registers it as convex. Only as you move around, it doesn't change like a convex object would, so it looks like it's moving.

Yes, that's it! Everyone really should print it out (http://www.jclahr.com/science/illusions/3d/paper_dragon.html as mentioned earlier), it's better in person since you get the full 3D effect.

Actually the effect is worse in person, since your mind is able to perceive that it's concave with stereoscopic vision (in other words: stereoscopic vision allows depth perception which ruins the effect). You need to close one eye or watch it from some distance away for good results. A camera has only one "eye", so the effect will look more impressive on video than in real life.
That said I still recommend everyone to print it out, it's a great design and a really clever way to do this hollow face illusion with the very simplest means.

I hated doing soft field landings during my flight training, dude is suppose to keep the nose off the ground as long as he can then let the tires hit gently so they don't sink, guess that's a good example of what not to do.

His problem wasn't the nose, it was slamming on the brakes as soon as he landed, causing the flip. His propeller never got close to the ground until the flip.
