Just bought the vol.1 of Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus for more money than I should be legally allowed to spend during a recession. :X

As far as guilty pleasures go, I don't believe I ever done something like this my entire life. But have you guys seen it? It's just too good of a package. Of course, if Marvel do a 3rd printing with the original cover price, I might just kill myself.

I found one sitting on the shelf at one of my local comic book stores the other week for list price :o

Why isn't cool title art more common? I was looking through Uncanny covers and these are the only ones that didn't have shitty word art titles.

ARGH!

Looked through Previews and ended up adding a bunch of shit:

Dan the Unharmable
The Crow: Skinning Wolves
Borderlands Origins
House of Fun
Emerald & Other Stories
Hip Flask Ourborous
Body Bags vol.2

:O

I think even if he couldn't draw (which, you know, bovs) he's a fantastic prose writer. Short stories, especially.

Never knew he wrote any short stories. I'd check them out but that would take away from time I could be using for COMICS. Yeah!

Read a Korean comic lately, Shaman Warrior. I really dug the art. I need to get into more eastern comics like this. I've only read the first volume so I can't really say too much about the story.

Also, I read Shadowland. Ugh I was hyped to read this a long time ago. The concept seemed pretty cool, but it was just bad. Pretty forgettable. I don't know you could recommend Diggle's DD after what Bendis and Brubaker did with the character.

I really hope AvX: Consequences deals with the depowered mutants who were glad to lose their powers during House of M, but now have them thrust back upon them through no choice of their own. Cyclops doesn't seem to have considered that.

I think Breevort has said the depowered mutants are not gonna be repowered.

Brand recognition?
For me it makes those issues all the more special.
My She-Hulk Deodato collection is probably my third most dear comic collection those covers are frikken godly....id probably get a full size poster of number 29 if i could find one.

You can tell it's Satchwar because the tiara is upside down, that SATCHTANIC PENTAGRAM!

While I agree with this message this gif needs help.

So, anyone else reading Phantom Lady? Thoughts? Enjoying it? The art style is growing on me and the story has potential, but the info dump in issue #2 (if required) could have been handled better.

I haven't read iit yet, was thinking of jumping on. Is it connected to The Ray mini at all?

This one's pretty good. A mature Avatar title with a story and not just Crossed torture porn.

Thanks!

Glad to hear it's good. The premise sounded like something I've always thought would be interesting, and here is someone doing something similar.

Allegedly my shop will be able to back order all the issues from Diamond too! :O

YEESH! Not at the prices for Apocalypse War collection proper. :P

It's reprinted in a Case Files collection.

Can Dredd readers clarify if there's any story overlap in Mega City Masters and Case Files collections?

As far as I can tell there's no overlap between Megacity masters and Case Files 5, which is the one with Apoc War. Case Files 5 has the second Dredd vs. Death story (the one with the punch) though and that's probably going to be on the Bolland hardcover. Vol 5 probably has the best collection of early Dredd stories though. Dredd vs. Death, Block Mania, and Apocalypse War are all classic.

only a couple issues in but...I'm digging Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters (was on sale at comixology). I hadn't read a good ol' "Gritty 80's" comic in a while, so it was right up my rat-infested, crime-ridden murdered prostitute-filled alley!

AvX 12:

Man, that was IT? Don't really see why that warranted angry, multi-paragraph posts about the characters. Dat "event", so vapid.

Also if you're not reading Saga, you really should be. Trade is coming out, starts again in November.

Aye! It's slowly turning into something great.

Oh hey, I just picked up Damsels #1 and boy howdy it's not what I thought it would be. Smart and pretty so far, not the bad girl babe book I had it chalked up as. Looking forward to the second issue.

I was, but it wasn't doing anything for me.

I should try to sell the issues to someone who gives a shit. :\

Aye! It's slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly turning into something great.

Fixed.

What's Rachel up to these days? Last time I read anything about her she'd marched off with Zack from FF7 to fight the Shi'ar/Shin-ra and avenger her family's death. Why did nobody think the Phoenix was coming for her?

She is a teacher at Wolverine's school, she has been a main character in that.

Oh I agree, but for me it's got more intersting ideas in one issue than most hyped books do in 4 or 5. Right now the worldbuilding has me hooked.

srsly

Even when things are slow, the art sucks me in and I can't look away. Enjoying it sosososo much.

Yeah, nthing the Saga love here. I wasn't too hot on Y: The Last Man but that Comics Alliance review made me pick it up. A lot of Vaughn's more annoying tics are gone (walking, talking trivia machines, cliff-hangers to end every issue) and while I still have some reservations, I'm going to put them aside and see where it takes me.

Apart from that, Saga has (thankfully) decided to keep the art team consistent and have breaks for Fiona Staples to catch up and that's something worth supporting, I think.
