How about the rest? Is Brian Wood still going to be on X-Men? Loved what he's done so far. Please tell me Remender is still doing Uncanny X-Force.

Wood is off Adjectiveless, and also Adjectiveless is being cancelled I think probably maybe.

Also, I think Uncanny Avengers has a pretty big AvX Consequences spoiler, thus proving that since they don't give a fuck you shouldn't either, despite the strong character work Gillen pulls. So, that's fun.

Also also, Aaron is bad at mixing serious drama and high-concept wacky hijinks so WatXM doesn't really work, and I feel bad that it didn't work better because yeah, that thing that happens is kind of a big deal.

So I should read that Consequences issue first? Or it spoils something from the whole presumed series?

Interesting.
How about Scott Summers. And telling us exactly what Wanda does in the book.

I'd say those are spoilers.

I haven't told you exactly what Wanda does in the book. What about Scott? the fact he's in the book? If that's a surprise to anyone then i don't know what to say.

Context is an interesting thing. If i knew people were so nit picky in here i would have spoiler tagged the whole post smh

What does it spoil? I never put two and two together.

It's in the Wolverine speech, won't say more, but it's really an "oh by the way this is how things went down in that book that's only gonna be released next week". Considering Consequences is a weekly it's a small deal, and I think it's because it was intended to come out one week earlier. It's a 5-issue miniseries, October's a 5-week month, you'd think Marvel would put two and two together but hahahaha fuck no.

Guys. Batman #13. Shit is fucked up but in exactly the right way. Snyder and pals fucking nail it. HERE IS AN INCREDIBLY ANCILLARY SPOILER THAT MAY ALLEVIATE SOME WORRIES AS TO HOW THE JOKER IS CHARACTERIZED BUT THAT HAS LITTLE TO NO IMPORTANCE ON THE INTRIGUE.
At one point, there's a giant mallet popping out of seemingly nowhere so, you know, it still has some jokes.

Right after work, I'm rushing straight to my LCS and picking this shit up, LET'S GO!

Hah weird i only had a quick read through consequences but i thought it was set after the first issue of Uncanny. Now i'll have to see what you mean.

That's a much better preview than the one in the free NOW book i got. Definitely in it for Waid.

Read Uncanny Avengers.. I don't get what MarvelNOW is.

If it's intended to be a jumping on point for fans, it is heavily tied into previous events in the universe, which they don't properly explain.

If it's fall-out from AvX.. why not just label it as such?

Oh yeah, I'll agree with that, it's a terrible jumping point as it starts right after AvX and makes no efffort whatsoever to explain what just happened.

But the point of Marvel NOW is a new status quo with new teams and such. I think it is the realization (first brought by Bendis' New Avengers) that these super heroes teams are arbitrary constructions anyway, so why not mix whatever the writer feels it is best?

So, as much of a confusing jumping point is for new readers, it is definetly a genuine new chapter in Marvel history.

Yeah, I get the sense that Hickman's Avengers #1 would have been a much better jumping-on point. But the scheduling just wouldn't have worked.

If your answer to the question "do you want to read more?" is yes, then I think the first issue of Uncanny Avengers did its job. And with that whopper of cliffhanger, who in their right mind would say no?

Why don't you just err on the side of respecting other posters who may have varying definitions of what ruins a book. If it's noon EST the day a book come out, why wouldn't you just tag everything you say about the book, like, say

Uncanny Avengers:
Sure this might be overkill, but you know what, I'm going to just tag it anyway for today because it's the very first book of this supposed new era of whatever and I'd bet there are people who want to know nothing, absolutely nothing, of what's in the book. Yeah, that'd be a nice thing to do. And I'm nice. So that's what I'll do.

Doesn't seem that hard, or at all "horseshit". Just common respect.

Having just read it,
The random villains that popped onto the scene from the pages right before the big reveal were so horrible that I was still reeling with disappointment and dislike and found myself unable to process the reveal itself.
Also a friend bought 3 variant covers just because. The blank cardstock one, the baby avengers one, and the deadpool one. She realized it was dumb to have multiple single issues and gave me the blank one and says she supposes she'll try to sell deadpool if it becomes worth something This chick has no concept of money, dear god. I should have never helped introduce her to such a hobby.

Yeah okay, now I'm super concerned all Remender can do is worf with UA #1 going just as I expected.

my thoughts on Uncanny Avengers

not at all what i was expecting. after the amazing way fear agent and uxf built up, i'm obviously still going to stick with the series but i hate that it's tied in with avx so much.

it's no surprise to comic-book gaf that i hate continuity and big cross overs so seeing all this avx fallout is a bummer. hopefully after an issue or two, we move past it and can get to the good stuff.

maybe hickman's avengers / new avengers will be more "self contained" but it's not lookin pretty.

i bought the baby variant to frame and put up someplace in the apt.

but regarding your thoughts:

i cringed when those villains came out and did their power ranger bullshit FEAR MY LIVING WIND WEAPON PEW PEW PEW. really awful, cheesy, campy stuff. such a departure from the heartfelt and brilliant way the UXF 4 horsemen were introduced.

I showed common respect by spoiler tagging what i deemed actual spoilers but hey, i apologize if i ruined in the slightest your reading experience.

If it really bugs you that much, perhaps release day might be a good time to just not click on the comic thread?
Spoiler tag whining is starting to sound really cunty PC.

I liked the kooky villains, but I'm in a kooky phase personally. And for all their weirdness, they seem really dangerous and evil.

It's time for the monthly Morning Glories post

WTF Nick Spencer?

To be fair, i think i got more in this issue than anything else.

Uncanny Avengers was awesome. I'm on board-way better than anything AvsX had to offer, even though it's heavily tied to it.

It was great seeing Cassady draw Logan, Kitty and Beast again...

I find the whining about whining much worse. My suggestion involves 12 seconds of common decency. Yours involves doing nothing. Action >>>> Static Nothingness

Damn, Remender is a sick, sick dude...I love him!!! :-)

Wolverine and the X-men was great as usual.

I think WatXM has been the breakout hit for me it's had it's wobbles but man such a fun book with a great cast of characters.

WatXM 18 :
Fucking broo. Sods law, the bad shit always happens to the characters i like.

Remender gets bad guys and I always like his creations. So I'm sticking to Uncanny Avengers.

We're never going to be introduced to Dr. Mindbubbles...

Remender still had stuff planned for Uncanny X-force, it's such a shame that he (or Marvel) chose to end his run so soon...

And I don't really understand the logic, he's only going to be writing 2 books now right? UA and Cap.

Probably making way Oranger loot as an illustrator. No more Green Drops for him.

What happened?

It's just that it's highly likely there are going to be spoilers on release day. Happens every week. Will happen again. Same old scolding every week.
Now people even complain about parts that aren't spoilers. Sheesh.

Apparently everything is just carrying over to Uncanny and Cap so we might see Dr Mindbubbles eventually

It's the first Marvel NOW! book. You're acting like we're applying like Pokemon spoiler rules to a Dark Knight Rises thread, jeepers creepers.

It take four seconds to spoiler tag something. Not doing it is just a lack of respect for everyone. Spoiler rules have always been about common sense.
