wait scott already went dark phoneix, is hank trying to undo it even though past scott has never seen the phoenix yet
Scott's already out of prison and doing things that may cause a Mutant/Human war.

Comic panels from previews show Cyclops blasting through what looks like law enforcement officers.

I think Beast wants Teen Scott to talk to "Revolutionary" Scott out of being Magneto.

i had a feeling something like that would happen, i like the idea of scott becoming the one thing he has fought against since childhood. but i dont think he would put mutants at risk

or scotts action jumpstarts a manhunt to kill or imprison all mutants.

To stop him they would need to go back to the beginning of AvX then and completely invalidate it...if they did it already I'm pretty sure Bendis would hold the record for world's fastest retcon.

Maybe the Extinction Team adopts the other meaning of their name.

It would be hard to top the speed of the reversals of Fear Itself.

Teen Cyke: You have to stop! Remember what Xavier...

*slap*

Adult Cyke: Shut the fuck up when grown folks are talking.

That (or something similar) is the only way i'll accept this shit going down.

I like it. I like the whole "Back to the Future part 2 vibe" going on there; it's even got a "it's your kids, Marty" moment.

Wasn't there just a thread on GAF about "what would your younger self think about you and your life"?

i joked about that butttttttttt should gaf topics be integrated into comics though? I hope not.

I thought the premise of this book was the young x-men stumbling and getting stuck in current times perminently. That was weird but i was curious. Now it's Hank going back in time and getting young Scott to talk to future Scott and possibly have this all take place BEFORE AvX ends...and i hope that speculation is not true because that sounds awful and small.

That's one possibility, and admittedly an awful sounding one; but maybe something happens to Cyclops during AvX Consequences to put him on a path where Hank believes he's about to do something really terrible as mentioned in the preview.

Like painful butt sex.

thats not smart. a dude did that to the kingpin, and look what happened to him.

sounds like a Bendis book

I don't buy this whole Scott turning into Magneto thing. Especially after Eric telling him how he used to think and act was pointless and got him nothing but a long list of dead friends. Scott branching off and going like Kung Fu traveling the world meeting all the new mutants would be a good way to take the character instead of DEATH TO MUGGLES.

That would be pretty cool, dude could use that sort of a redemption arc. When he comes back it could trigger a big event or he becomes the new Xavier or something.

Maybe Scott will be taking a proactive role in defending the reemerging mutant populace, but in the wholly unsanctioned militant fashion that led him to isolate everyone on an island, and to reactivate X-Force a couple years ago. Scott Summers, the outlaw savior.

EDIT: Yeah, you can't see anything but I'd at least put that in quotations for thumbnails.

He's overjoyed with the fact that the mutant population has blown up i just can't see him rounding them up into death squads. Who knows maybe this time the extinction team will be just that lol

Not death squads, but the enemies of mutantkind are bound to start getting panicky and desperate now that the mutant population is exploding once more. And I'm not just talking about fringe groups like the Friends of Humanity or the Purifiers; I'm talking about people like that warden from AvX Consequences, and the countries buying Sentinels from Kilgore and the Hellfire Club -- world leaders with zero tolerance for human/mutant brotherhood when the security of their nation is at stake. And since these are new mutants just coming into their powers, they're going to be incredibly scared and vulnerable and in poor position to defend themselves at first. So maybe Cyclops puts together a team of like-minded former X-Men, to give those new mutants a fighting chance by targeting the people targeting them, and that gets interpreted as a war against humanity by Hank.

That would be interesting

Lol, how many X-Force teams are we getting?

I would be totally fine with this. I could see it instantly leading him into conflict with Cap. I think just like with what happened to Tony after Civil War any positive thing Scott tries to do in the up and coming future will be met with opposition so i think that would tie in to what you mentioned about Hank perfectly.
It does seem from what was seen in Consequences there is a storm brewing in relation to how the various agencies are going to react to the onslaught of new mutants. Maybe Scott learns something he shouldn't know which leads him into whatever Hank is on about.
