I would be upset over this Spidey news, but then I remember that I live in a world where Rick Remender will be writing Captain America and Scott Synder will be writing Superman and everything just feels....alright. Like there's still something to believe in out there.

Plus, Slott is probably trolling us.

[speculation]

It's Peter Parker.
Well, it's his body anyway. The mind belongs to someone else entirely -- and you can probably guess who. :O

[/speculation]

;p

Don't know if ElNarez is lurking around, but I feel we need to discuss what happens in the case of a Freaky Friday scenario/body cohabitation thing. I propose a total consciousness swap counts completely in your favor, so Parker's body with someone else completely controlling it, but a body share thing gives me the win, albeit maybe the amount of months you have to wear the avatar is halved because it's 50% Parker/50% some other guy.

Since it looks to be at least plausible, I don't want either of us to be bitching about what to do when an ambiguous scenario presents itself. If others want to weigh in on this, feel free to, maybe we need an impartial arbiter.

Going back over Uncanny Avengers I noticed that it looks as if Cassaday really phoned it in. His lines aren't as clean as they were in Astonishing X-Men, but maybe its due to the coloring. Anyone else think he was a little off?

Some of it was kind of sloppy. Like a few panels, I don't like how his Alex Summers looks so generic (he might as well look like Cap or Hawkeye). I don't think he had the preparation he had with Astonishing X-Men. Those characters were so refined and tuned to perfection. You get a real idea what Cyclops really looks like in AXM. We don't really see Thor or Cap with their helmets off so that will come later. Avalanche looked impressive even with that scar on his head.

We didn't really see Rogue or Scarlet Witch yet so time will tell, I also agree about the coloring. Is Red Skull head supposed to be that smooth?

From the Marvel NOW! panel

Plans for Jubilee? Yes. (That's all the detail given.)

Singh says "big changes" are coming to X-Factor. Issue #250 is out in January 2013.

David says in issue #245, "We have stuff happening that in normal circumstances would get three to four months of teases and promotions." David says that's not happening because he wants to take people by surprise.

David says he'll be launching a storyline he's been teasing for 15 years, called "The Hell on Earth War."

In the story, "all of the various hell lords that we have wondering around the Marvel Universe has been waiting for this point in time — for the seven billionth human to be born on Earth." All of the hell lords will "throw down" to vie and become the undisputed ruler of the underworld. David says he'll be wrapping up a number of long-running storylines, while still making it accessible for new readers.

Sounds like a job for Banshee...err The Morrigan.

His mind is overriden by the wrath of a thousand angry fans the world over and even though he thinks only of his true love Carlie, their fiery rage lances him toward Mary Jane with all the force of a bullet train.

By Odin's beard . . . I mean, you can't argue with the numbers I guess, but man. This explains a few things.

Like someone pointed out, it's the entire purpose of that horrible looking Battle Royal series. :(

But I have to say that overall, I think I'm more excited for Marvel NOW than unhappy. I mean Mohawk Storm erases all evils.

It sucks that by going for the short term sales numbers they're potentially killing a bunch of characters they'd been seeding for the better part of a decade in some cases. I get a lot of these characters never caught on, but then I feel they never took that many chances with them either. If they'd handled The Runaways property better they could have been quite big now.

I'm beginning to think showing Simon Baz with a gun was just a misdirection to get attention. Other than GL 0 no art has shown him a gun, including this bit revealed today:
GL_Cv16.jpg

sigh, so we have a choice between Hal Jordan and Simon Baz....couldnt they pseudo-kill Hal Jordan and not have a replacement?

The ring should have disappeared, found Star Sapphire or better yet attached itself to Kyle Rayner....we dont need another lantern.
Whats Simons motif?
Hal Jordan - Airforce and whatever?
Kyle Rayner - Comics, Anime, VideoGames
John Stewart - Military shit
Guy Gardner - awesomeness?

Muslim and car stuff

Muslim and car stuff

No way.....Car stuff Okay i guess, like he will have a make sports car constructs to run over his enemies.

Im hoping he doesnt stay too long or he is a very very very distant character in all the major GL books.

Im actually surprised i enjoyed Hal and Sinestros team-up, I think for a while atleast Sinestro should have headlined the GL book, No Hal, definitely no Simon.

i have not read it but popular opinon is his first secret avengers arc was trash and his ultimate x-men was not good as well.

morning glories and that cloak and dagger mini he did were great though

And Morning Glories was only cool until like issue 7 or 8 IMO. He seems to have his head up his own ass after that and is being weird to be weird. Amazing beginning though.

Black Fury = instant veto.

I started reading Morning Glories and American Vampire at the same time and thought these guys were in the same league. It sucks to hear that Spencer seems to be slipping with mainstream comics. I was planning on keeping my avengers titles down to just two anyway.

Give it a try yourself. It may be right up your alley. Who knows?

I'll wait for the preview art to decide. Becoming a picky comic reader has helped my wallet.

@slightconfuse: Were you into it in the first two trades? Honestly things progress in a Lost type style. More questions are raised then answered.

Or Slott could just make everyone happy and overwrite his mind with Carlie.

I like the idea behind Secret Avengers. The Avengers
having memory implants and not knowing they're on the team doing these missions
actually sounds intriguing.

Marvel NOW is about where the New 52 was in interesting sounding books for me.

I don't know about this new secret avengers team.

Not everyone is gonna like them on it, but I'm all for
Taskmaster though. Mercs can be paid to be on any team. Look at Deadpool. Screw the haters
.

This is hilarious. It's all characters that are popular or going to be promoted in upcoming marvel movies so
taskmaster
must be getting some awesome movie or something.

I love that this "Avengers and X-Men mesh now" stuff is limited totally to ONE book. Great job, folks! Let us keep X-Men away from Secret/whatever teams, it is not like they have 100+ members that could see some spotlight.

...oh wait, they do. :(

EDIT: Oh, and when they finally realize it, I am calling it now: they will put WOLVERINE in Secret Avengers. So new.

X-characters are featured in all three main Avengers books. Secret Avengers is like the X-men Legacy of Avengers titles. Stories can be interesting, but all the big stuff will happen elsewhere.

EDIT: We know that Cannonball, Sunspot and Wolverine are on the main Avengers team and Beast is involved in New Avengers.

Secret Avengers premise sounds cool but am on the fence about picking it up...

It'll need some fatastic writing to go the distance for me. Also the teaser artwork I'm not feeling too much.
