wow marvel really wants me to not buy any cosmic marvel book. i dont understand how you ruin the best part of marvel for the last few years like this.

how is star lord back.

why is there a space iron man

why is loeb on nova

WHY WHY WHY

Hellboy 2 was awesome, as was Blade 2

Del Toro for more comic book movies, pls

edit: Marvel Cosmic and X-men are being sacrificed to the Avengers. The Bendis must be fed!

not yet. ive given up on side shit like the clone wars and the like, but if theres a chance for redemption, ill give him one movie

Star Wars: Twilek Brothel on Starz.

HNNNNG! :3

It's odd what Lucas embraces and what he doesn't. I need moar Darth Talon in my life.

Hell yes, Hellboy is godlike. I refuse to believe there are people who don't like it.

Hellboy 3 is another movie we need to crowd fund.

Perlman needs to stop wasting his time and talent on Yawns of Anarchy.

Star Lord came back in Avengers Assemble and not a word was said about how. Doubt it'll be brought up either.

So, I'm not much of a Marvel guy. Someone wanna fill me in on what is causing people such ill feelings about these books? Appreciate it!

we already know what to expect with loeb nova due to him being on the tv show. hes a know it all, annoying asshat who has the power to make me change the channel whenever he comes on screen. i highly doubt thats gonna fare better in the comic.

Mensah would be cool but i'd prefer Djimon Hounsou. Either way you'd get a pretty badass Black Panther.

Digimon Han Solo is okay too.

I just think Peter Mensah has a lot of untapped star potential, and Digimon has had plenty of opportunities through the years. Yes, I realize how silly that seems given how pervasively white Hollywood is. :X

Yep!

People really like those Dan Abnett/Andy Lanning cosmic books for some reason and Bendis and Loeb aren't Very Good.

I hope those people are checking out Hypernaturals. It's pretty okay!

also i dont really care for loebs agenda to reference his son in every comic he writes.

im willing to give bendis a chance, his new and dark avengers stuff was awesome. but loeb can GTFO.

DnA really made there mark on the cosmic stuff.

AWWW YEEEAA!!

Gotta get GoG in line with the movie-verse with even less effort then changing 616 Nick Fury.

And fuck yea, make everything bigger, give the raccoon bigger guns, HELL YEA!! Put Iron Man on the team in a space suit, why? You have the space knights? FUCK YOU THATS WHY!! Drax looked cool in leather pants with daggers, NO, THINK BIGGER!! Give him swords and gauntlets yea! Gamora space assassin with sword? Fuck that noise, she needs to be like Black Widow in a skin tight suit with a gun! EXTREME!!

*stabs self in eyes*

To be fair, he is a kid and kids these days do spew out exceedingly stupid commentary.

On the flipside, I'm pretty sure as a teenager I would have been able to say something much less insipid when faced with a tragedy.

In fact, when a huge national tragedy DID occur, I most certainly did not say whatever the early 00s equivalent of "Epic Fail" was.

Newva doesn't look like he's hit puberty yet.

I got to keep up with comic-gaf more. Newva, haha.

Seriously this sucks though. My hope for a DnA reunion book for the GoTG movie are dashed. Cosmic Marvel is going to be Bendis-ed.

Can you imagine Bendis bringing back the confessionals...the word balloons...OH GOD THE WORD BALLOONS!!

For me the point is not that stupid kids can and do say stupid shit. It's that I'd rather not be reading about a stupid kid.

I forgot about the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. That's the obvious reason why cosmic Marvel hasn't been abandoned.

Could the movie be the spark that brings cosmic Marvel back into popularity? I'd put my money on the movie being more like a John Carter Warlord of Mars type of success.

Marvel will make sure it is jammed with Marvel references so people know it connected to their universe.

They are putting Iron Man in Guardians of the Galaxy to better sync up the comics with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I bet at the end of Iron Man III he goes off into space and ends up joining them.

It's definitely Iron Man on the GotG cover:

When the Earth is threatened, you call the Avengers—but when entire universe is at stake, there’s only one team for the job… …they are the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY! Starlord! Groot! Rocket Raccoon! Drax! Gamora! Iron Man?! That’s right folks, the Armored Avenger is joining the Universe’s Mightiest Heroes to tackle the threats too big for the Avengers! But just what threat would require the help of Tony Stark? That’s the question Brian Michael Bendis, , and Steve McNiven plan to answer. What do you get when you combine the man who redefined the Avengers for an entire generation and one of the greatest comic book artists of our time? You get an all-new ongoing series featuring the team starring in Marvel Studios’ next major super hero franchise! With a new mission and a new lineup you’ll only see in comics, the Guardians of the Galaxy head in an exciting new direction with only one goal in mind—SAVE THE UNIVERSE.

Bendis took the avengers from being this really shitty comic book that most people didnt give 2 shits for into one of the biggest brands in the world so i'm definitely going to give him a chance on this one.

True but then made it unbearable. Maybe he should only do mini series. There is no reason to trust Bendis long term. Even his excellent Daredevil overstayed its welcome by a bunch of issues. Only thing he didn't fuck up IMO was Alias aka my fave Marvel run ever.

I actually stoped reading after the 3rd arc where would you say the series took a nosedive? I was actually thinking about reading his whole run soon.

That's awfully negative of you krypto...

But in all seriousness, I was made aware of bendis' negative qualities during his mighty avenger run. So many characters that wouldn't shut the hell up.

YOLO!!!

Man, like, you just gotta let it happen, you know? Too much hate in comic fandom.

As for bendis, he should let someone else script his good ideas. That's still my opinion of him. You get a book and the plot is like "Future iron man returns and they battle Kang!" or something cool like that and then the book itself is a series of dialogues that go nowhere.

I liked the first trade the best, the forth ( i think? issues 22ish) was fairly fun too. But eventually it just became a tie-in book to events. I grew to hate it during Secret Invasion when it also jumped to 3.99.

Picked up my first issue of Earth 2 today, after being told over and over that it's the best book DC is putting out every time I step into the comic store. Starting with Issue 5 may not be doing the book justice, but aside from Robinson being perhaps a little too wordy with his dialogue, I enjoyed it. I really hope this stays within in its own continuity. Please tell me this is a truth I can cling to.

Also picked up Star Trek #11 and loved how they added lens flare to the comic.
