Been reading Crossed, love that shit! Love how brutal it is.
Scene when family gets
raped and kid torn apart
was really interesting :D

Who the fuck demanded a sequel to The Widening Gyre? WHO. THE FUCK. DID THAT. I need to punch someone in the dick for that because fucking seriously. Fucking. Seriously.

I did fuck you! :P

Maybe because I'm a fan of some of their podcasts, but I like seening Kev and Walt working on a Batman book. When I realised and accepted that it's completely in it's own world andwent with it, I had a lot of fun with it. I like Kevin Smith's more human Bruce Wayne, it's a unique take.

Sometimes it's just plain hilarious at how over the top the violence is. They're definitely pushing the limit. Last issue even had some dork, so they're taking the next step in the torture porn genre. About the only way this title could get more vulgar and gross is if they had more realistic artwork.

user name quote. XO

I enjoyed reading the first trade but it was too dark for me and i let the series go.
;)

Yes please, more realism ftw haha. But so far I like it that they didnt shy away from brutality, show it all! Sex, gore, murder etc. on family values atm, will probably catch up to current stuff fast and then Ive got Hellblazer waiting.
Speaking of brutal - Quinn & Vigil have another issue of Faust coming out soon. (NSFW) This is the grandpappy of current American comic sickness.

Looking forward to tits and dicks and intestines.
Ill look into this, looks like my kind of thing.

ARG Why Loeb Why?

The Day that Clown gets fired or quits Marvel will be a day I dance. He ruins everything he touches.

His Red Hulk was terrible
He nearly destroyed the Ultimate Universe with Ultimatum
He wreaked the Avengers cartoon once he took over.
And Now he's going to ruin Nova :(

Also Bendis shouldn't be touching the Guardian's of the Galaxy. He wrote them in Avengers Assembled and it's TERRIBLE. He doesn't get what made that version of the team work at all.

When the Earth is threatened, you call the Avengers—but when entire universe is at stake, there’s only one team for the job

What the frick? The Avengers have saved the Universe more times then these posers ever have

Could the real Guardian's of the Galaxy please come back

You may also be interested in EO by Vigil as well. I won't link it because the cover is simply too dangerous.

Ha!

What hurts more?

Loeb's amazing 25 issues of Hulk, or the fact that kids these days don't know what a Kree Skrull war was and Bendis will continue to rehash old Marvel events and do a new Kree Skrull war? ^_^

I liked Loeb's Hulk for about 5 issues, but the further i got into the OHC i quickly started hating it. McGuinness' art can't save that book.

Ultimates #15 was okay despite them spoiling the ending/direction previously. This issue seemed a little bland though.

You know the REAL guardian's of the Galaxy had a run of 62 issue. How many series these days can say that?

The only good Red hulk stuff is by Jeff Parker.

Most kids these days don't read comics anyhow so pandering to them by making the comics more like the movies is a waste of time.

I'm not sure he's left enough Skrulls after Secret Invasion for them to DO another Kree Skrull war.

Loebs hulk was dumb that i like it in ironic way, now jeff parker has been doing amazing stuff with the character.

also a modern kree-skrull war would include the inhumans remember :)

They would bring him back to add more to guilt scott with. Then they would pull in ruby summers to do the same. Kind of like an ebenezer scrooge deal.

Corsair was the worst dad ever. He threw his kids out of a plane with a single parachute before getting abducted by the Shiar. Then, instead of making it back to earth to see if his kids lived, he just becomes a Space Pirate, leaving them stranded in an orphanage (run by Mr Sinister).

Never said it was a good idea. Nothing an alternate reality daughter could tell him either.

Doubt the movie will take this direction.

Also is A+X still happening? When is that scheduled to start up?

Is that Future Franklin in the background? If it is then shit is gonna be nuts, dude's herald is motherfucking GALACTUS son. So much swag.

Since I got my iPad, I've been trying to get back into comics again. Picked up a few random sale issues on the Marvel app, in addition to NEXTWAVE and Astonishing Spider-Man/Wolverine. And right now I'm picking up WE3 and probably Batman Beyond issues on Comixology.

Batman Beyond is really good. I think I'm gonna skip lunch for a day or two so I can afford another year of it.

Really good.

Are there any on-going Spidey comics of this quality in this price-range?

The .99 cent range? Nah, Batman Beyond is probably among the cheapest comics you can get. That said, it's SO GOOD. For some reason the DC app won't let me download the new chapter, this angers me.

So good to see his run get some kudos. After his first somewhat boring storyline, he really made me love the unlovable Thunderbolt Ross. It was honestly one of my fave books coming out.

First ish of Red She-Hulk was good, but I already miss my Red Hulk. Happy that he's going to lead his own team book.

What a great week this was, Uncanny Avengers had a decent start and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Then I picked up Batman 13 and it was amazing. I really like the way DC are doing daring to do something new with the Joker. I also stumbled up on a great interview with Scott Syder yesterday about the latest Batman issue and the upcoming arc with the Joker. I don't know if this has been posted in the thread, but I thought I should share it for anything that might be interested in hearing the path the Batman series will take.

At least it shows that to some people, the idea of people wielding greatswords only got introduced in FFVII :P

It's true that greatswords were around long before FF7, and indeed in anime, but the distinctive big-solid-pommel on giant-kitchen-cleaver look plus the spiky black hair and belts REALLY seems like a (poor) Nomura ripoff.

To me, Korvus is more like Gattsu, but either way, I still do not think that Nomura has exclusivity on that concept.
