Who will win? Will Obama remember to show up for the debate this time? Will Romney claim to be unemployed again? How could these people possibly still be undecided voters? What the hell is wrong with them? There's only one way to find out!

This debate could determine the future of our country! Sure, it probably won't, but that's what we said about the first presidential debate, and look what happened! Do you really want to take that chance? Tune in this Tuesday and see these professional politicians face their most dangerous adversaries -- real human beings!

Well gosh fellas, I've looked at all the candidates and read all the newspapers and I just can't vote for either of these men! Oh, if only Democrats and Republicans could just get along, then we'd all be better for it.

So, do they have to have their questions vetted by anyone first? Or could these people just stand up and ask Obama about his Kenyan roots and waste all of our time?

I think this will be interesting but I'm not expecting Romney to suddenly stop lying his fucking ass off like he was doing in the last decade

Not a big fan of Crowley, but can't wait to watch the debate.

they should name the debates - who's the better liar

If the bet is on who will lie more instead of who will win, the stakes are too easy. Romney will out lie Obama 5-1 or more.

I tried to get into the audience for this one, no luck. Gonna watch it with GAF instead.

FUCKING HELL man, the damn debate is happening like two miles from me and I have to watch it on TV...bullshit

Obama is in a very tough situation. He needs to call Romney out on the flip flops and bullshit from last time and whatever he spews Tuesday, but still needs to show he is more likeable and relatable in the town hall format. My fear is that Obama will try to be aggressive and stumble on the later.

Here's to hoping he puts up a better performance than he did last debate.

For some reason I have in my head the notion that Obama likes townhall style setups. Did I just conjure this out of nowhere or is there some reality behind it? He certainly needs a strong performance. I don't think he can rely solely on performing well in the final Foreign Policy debate.

He connects well with people, it's why most of the GOP's attacks against him don't work. The first debate detached them both and that worked in Romney's favor, he's never been good at making that personal connection and looks awkward when he tries. So Obama has a bit of an edge going into this one.

undecided voters

This phrase just fills me with dread now.

I just hear 'Low Information Voters' hopefully they prove me wrong and actually ask searching and interesting questions.

Actually who decides on the questions asked?

Obama SHOULD have a much better debate this time around due to the format and him being keenly aware what mistakes he made in the first debate. Then again, who thought Obama would perform so poorly in the first debate.

Town Hall format is my least favorite presidential debate. It's just a bunch of honky, meaningless personal anecdotes, abd generally moves slower than usual. Last week's breakneck VP debate is my preferred pace.

Foreign policy > VP > Domestic > Town Hall generally.

Foreign policy debate is best/most useful because that's the area presidents have the most direct role, unlike domestic issues where at best they advise congress.

Sadly most people don't realize this though.

So what are the odds that the group of moderates are mostly conservative?

Since this is America...I'm going to say very high.

These "undecided" voters are thankfully not going to ask any ridiculous questions about Kenyan Muslim socialism, but I am fully expecting stuff about 716 billion, this Libya thing, and for there to be at least one millionaire "small business owner" talking about why healthcare or business taxes should target him or something.

This is what will decide the election imo. If Obama does ok, he'll probably win. If he gets pwnt by Mitt, all bets are off

I wanna see a debate with just them two, no moderator. Give each candidate 5 topics of their choosing and go to town.

Or, have a team debate. Team of President, VP, + 2 other ppl of their choosing. Notes allowed. Signs allowed. Laptop and internet allowed. Chalkboard allowed. I would like to see this.

The debate formats we have now are kinda worthless and only give us soundbites.

I just want to drop the pretense and see a barekuckle muay-thai fight. Last man standing is your new president

I work literally in the building next door to Hofstra U. and the media is already showing up. Couple of helicopters buzzing around the area, and tons of barricades, etc. A good chunk of roads will be closed from 5am through midnight.

Should be a fun time getting in to work! I could probably stay home, but curiosity of the potential chaos is winning out.

It's hard to accuse the other guy of lying without seeming like a jerk. Unfortunately most voters will watch the debate but not the fact checking afterwards so there is a lot of incentive to lie and not a lot to call out lies.

Any guesses regarding to the questions that will be asked? What kind of soft ball questions do you guys/girls think they'll get?

I'll be covering the debate. I'll probably create a live-blog and post impressions immediately after the debate.
