thinking of revamping my R/W Human deck, since I need something to power up my creatures, since my deck runs way to slow (RIP ADAPTIVE AUTOMATON ;-;)

also, im looking for 3 fencing aces, a single gore house chain walker, and 4 splatter thugs in mtgo. All those cards would help me dearl

any good white or red, or even artifacts that'll power up my hoomies

Instigator Gang?

Or splash green for Gavony Township.

I feel like Guttersnipe + Burning Vengeance should be a thing, is that already a thing?
BV was too slow and inconsistent although Guttersnipe could help it. The problem is they both occupy the 3 slot so you can't curve from one to another.

Guttersnipe is 3.

IV/flashback IV itself is a spell being cast, but the copy/copies are not cast.

Oops, thought you were talking about increasing vengence.

Burning vengence is also 3.

Seems I got lucky on Salvation, someone I was about to mail a trade out to ended up getting banned for having multiple accounts that would give each other trade feedback and every time would get banned kept coming back with new accounts.

Vraska is saved

It's too hard to get a balance between the 'combo' cards like these and powerful enablers that turn them on and actually do something even when you don't draw one. Like you are giving a lot of room to Guttersnipe and Burning Vengeance, but they don't turn each other on so you can get really awkward draws.

Why do you think they printed Abrupt Decay? :-P (It was that and Delver/Tempo decks in general.)

Haha, I didn't know it existed until I was watching some of LSV's legacy videos and it was stupid. It's even stupider when it's a mirror match, I thought I was gonna fall asleep. So boring.

Well, when you learn to talk sense, we can agree on many more things.

For instance, Dreg Mangler is a very underrated card in RtR to date. Agree, or disagree?

It's ok, I think it really depends on the deck. I will say it was really underrated undering the prerelease for whatever reason. That in limited is pretty awesome.

Hey, I have like zero time right now for trading unfortunately- sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Been swamped w/ work and deckbuilding related things.

No worries, I have been picking up some more things so maybe we can work something out when you have some time.
Ended up and biting on some foil Harbors on Ebay.

Oh god, 2008 (?) with countertop everywhere was awful. I'm all for a good control deck, but fuck that combo.

It really drove home the point when he played a burn deck and the guy knew he was screwed and played like 5 burn spells that turn to empty his hand and every single one of them got countered.

Welp, I guess I need to drive the hour to GP Philly now. Look at this playmat!

Nonono.

Counterbalance + top+ humility+ ensnaring bridge is obnoxious.

And then one of my friends threw a freaking monoblue energy field countertop deck together. Fuck that.

I firmly believe that there are a lot of people who pilot decks like these as their only way to leverage power and control over other human beings. I'd prefer getting whipped by the guy playing combo to show the world how clever he is instead.

should I participate in the phillygrand prix and gets steamrolled if I play cause my standard deck is not good right now?

From what I understand there is usually a lot of cool side events going on if you don't want to enter the main event. It's really nice to pickup cards and trade cards also.

Don't know if any one can help, but does anyone know if there is a way to run MTGO and bypass UAC on Win 7? I just want it to start and not have to allow it to make changes every time.

In related news, built a Modern Death and Taxes on MODO. The deck list was one of the ones on MTGS, pretty fun deck. Still going to make changes to it, but really like having Ghost Quarters and them not being able to search for a card and PtE actually being better than StP, due to Leonin Arbiter.

Disable UAC.

Windows button -> Search -> UAC -> Change User Account settings -> Lowest setting (UAC off)

Any thoughts on the latest version of my bant deck? Been playtesting super well and everything synergizes quite nicely, but suggestions/ideas/critiques are always welcome.

Half of your creatures are 3cmc, and you don't have any below that. Is call of the Conclave enough early game for you, or do you find that you ramp with Farseek fast enough to where you don't have to worry much? Still, seems risky.

My G/W/u build ran pretty clunkily when I had a majority 3cmc list, with the only creature less than 3cc being Avacyn's Pilgrim. Honestly from testing, I don't think Loxodon Smiter is good enough for main deck.

But hey, my list didn't have Geist so maybe he makes all the difference.

I honestly prefer centaur healer over lox in most cases at that cost. Lox is more in my sideboard.
I would definitely have either Avacyn Pilgrims or Elves at 1 though. You HAVE to get out fast and early before they get their first board wipe in their hand or before they get board control.

These types of deck mulligan until you have a mana dork, so those 3 cmc creatures are turn 2 playable.

Edit: I just looked at the list, and it seems like the deck has no real acceleration. I could see problems where you lose games before you can even play anything. It really depends on the meta, but in general I think this deck will have consistency issues due to relying on drawing into lands... Basically 3 land+ hands or mull, which is kind of not what I would do unless I am running at the very least 24 lands.

Honestly, yes. The only fast deck that gives me much of an issue is RDW/Rakdos Deck Wins/BR zombies (none of which aren't particularly common in my local meta). Anything else, Call of the Conclave and the various 3 drops are enough. Hell if I can get a turn 2 call of the conclave thats pretty much enough to stabilize me against fast decks. The only times I have too many issues is when they have one of those "2 rakdos cacklers and an ash zealot before I've had a chance to draw a 3rd land" type hands. Don't forget besides call of the conclave I also have the option of making a token with Selesnya charm, so I have possibly up to 7 2-drops.

Mana dorks aren't worth it. Im only running 7 turn 1 green sources, which is not enough to bet on having them out, and with my curve, any time after turn 3 or 4 it might as well be a dead draw. I've tested them out and they simply do not work well within my frame. Its pretty much a choice between my blue splash, or mana dorks. The only other real option for a 1 drop is Dryad Militant, which judging by last week's FNM, was a pretty worthless card for me.

Loxodon is a meta call. Mostly midrange and control in my meta, so his uncounterable effect is relevant (lot of syncopates), as is his 4 toughness against the likes of a flipped huntmaster.

Lox in your meta sounds solid then.

But mana dorks do 2 things for you that you don't have right now:

1. Something to do on turn one. "Land, go" will almost assuredly put you behind your opponent.

2. You'll be ahead of your opponent on turn two, which is very valuable. Turn 2 Geist, Healer, Lox, etc.

If you've tested them and found they don't work for you, cool. But I guess I'm having a hard time seeing this deck run without consistency issues. Especially since I run something similar and had a list close to yours at one point.

It feels like a pretty major mistake not reprinting birds of paradise, they are so important, triply so in a multicolour set like this.

Gatecrash will be interesting since it has to have its own full set of all the various "things every limited format needs." Hopefully there will be at least some kind of 1-mana mana dude.

It honestly would make multi TOO easy.
We have m13 lands, we have INN lands, we have RtR shocks, we have pilgrim, we have Arbor Elf which can uptap many of the shocks.
We have Cavern, we have Guild Gates if need be.
There is seriously enough, though I do LOVE BoP and look forward to their return in set 3.

The true power of Arbor Elf shall be showcased when Gatecrash comes out. There will be so many forest duals you won't know what to do with them.

Earliest I can see Birds of Paradise reprinting is in the third set of the RTR block. Right now we have so much fixing available to us I think it's largely unnecessary. It's also pretty clear they aimed to slow down ramp strategies a bit and make the format not so fast.

On another note, putting together a Bant hexproof aura deck to try out. Invisible Stalker and Geist of St Traft with Ethereal Armor, Rancor and Spectral Flight seems like it's worth trying out. Turns all their non-mass removal into dead cards sitting in their hands and will have Unsummon to save the Geist in case of a board wipe anyway.

I dunno why I keep trying to draft Rakdos x-x

Cause every time I do I get stomped by azorius fliers.
