Here is the entire known (as in they are confirmed. If you don't see their name, they have not been announced yet) marvel heroes roster

They have also shown Cloak and Dagger as npc figures, but they also showed Daredevil like this despite being a playable character. I imagine that won't last or they will be earned later on or something. I am not really sure. There was also talk about Ka-zar being playable back in the day, but they have not shown him yet.
 
Would love to play some a dumb comic MMO with Comic GAF but my only PC is a shitty Dell craptop from like 2005 with integrated graphics and a fan on it that sounds like a jet engine taking off.

That is correct they go on the record of saying that this "isn't an X-men game, nor is it an Avengers game. It is a Marvel game. If they exist, they have a chance".

When asking about villains being playable, they smile and say "That would be fun, wouldn't it" so take that as you will.

Yeah, if that is any indication of how Bendis GotG will be, then it will be pretty horrible. I'll agree with this line:

Your reduction of concepts epic in scope dealing with the awe and wonder of the universe to parochial, Earthcentric, street-level tripe is disrespectful of the concepts that made DnA’s GotG take great.

Yes it is for free. Basically the way it is going to work is that you CAN buy costumes and heroes with real money, but you don't have to. They can be earned by playing the game. Everything in this game can be earned by playing it. You don't ever have to pay a cent.

No, I'm with it. It's the same principle behind newspeak. Instead of aspiring to new highs, the meaning gets tamped down into mundanity. He seems to think we've allowed things to become too common, too LCD. We know there is a lot less quality as science fiction went totally mainstream pop, but he seems to think he's got the cause pinned down. Mental laziness that leads to the eventual fall of Rome.
 
What was the last comic ya'll bought all the variant covers for? I'm gonna do it for Invincible 100 because I'm dumb and spend too much money on things I love.

I'm saving up for the ASM700 variants, there are bunch of cool ones and a Ditko cover that never got used before.

Most books I buy only have like 1 variant unless it's a particularly landmark issue. Picked up the Think Tank #1 variant at NYCC so I guess that'd be the last one for me haha.

Fucking Bendis sounds like he's totally taking everything i liked about the previous books and just making this Avengers in space. Getting rid of the WW1 inspired costumes is silly especially for Star Lord. Good thing NOW has a lot of other books that have my interests.

I haven't bought a variant cover since the 90s crash. The Pathfinder #1 covers were tempting, but it's just too easy to find the images online and just save them.

I don't think I would ever pay extra for variants, but pick up baby variants if they are available.
