The naming of Pushmo/Pullblox was a subtle political commentary. Europe executes more "pulling" forces on the global economy, whereas North America has more of a "pushing" force, overall.

BUT Y. It's not like the name change prevents it from being one of the best games on the 3DS.

The original name change makes sense to me; you pull blocks and not push mos.

It's considered one of the worst CV games ever released. The music in particular is just awful.

That being said, if you enjoyed Legends you'll enjoy the other GB CV games as they're very similar.
Nice, thanks!

I was maybe 7 when I played it, so it's probably not as good as I remember. I'll still buy it though, I'm weak and have no self control.

Not sure which thread is best to ask this in so I'm posting here;

I've jsut bought a European Ambassador 3DS. I'm wanting to wipe it so I can earn my own StreetPass tags, but I'm worried about losing the Ambassador Certificate and games that have already been bought on the system. Can anyone who's actually formatted their 3DS themselves confirm that it's safe to do so?

Ta.

I wouldn't assume it was safe at all. You could try deleting the Streetpass Plaza save file?

In Console Settings, there's an option called Data Management that allows you to delete StreetPass Data for each title individually. I haven't tried this myself, but I'm guessing deleting the file for StreetPass Mii Plaza should reset the Tags to zero.

Never realized that the mo comes from sumo. The name finally makes sense.

The Japanese name is sort of a pun
Hikuosu 引ク押ス
hiku (pull) osu (push)
osu also sounds like it is short for osumo (although the kanji are pull and push)

The US name is an attempt to translate the gag, the European name is more literal

This thread is really going places now.

I wonder if 3DS releases will suffer when the Wii U comes out. Wii U launch day should be the biggest list of digital games ever in one go, I'd assume.

Thanks for the detailed explanation.

Technically next months thread, a separate thread from this one will be the one with all the excitement.

Still I think the 3DS eshop is close to being actually good with their updates lately. If only they could keep this pattern of a DSi game or two, a VC game, a 3DS game, and a demo just about every week or so.

You usually specify month if you don't mean this one, and the 25th's a Thursday. Probably gets the foot in the door for Wii U though, getting familiar with Nintendo's requirements and using that to get the Wii U app out faster. Or it'll be there at launch and it's a moot point, though the other angle is the fact a LOT of people are probably going to stick with Wiis for now and not upgrade, and it's not like you need HD for most Youtube videos.

I doubt it. Isn't the 3DS going to get an overhaul with Miiverse a bit after the Wii U comes out?

I mean.. Things couldn't possibly get worse right?

Sonic 2 (Game Gear) and Ninja JaJaMaru-kun for JP 3DS VC next week.

Wonder if they plan on selling Sonic 1 GG at some point. I know the Master System version on Wii VC got taken down awhile back.

Who is he ?

Emily Rogers is not a 'he.' She runs the NotEnoughShaders site. She talks to devs, does articles with them, writes opinion pieces, but she's not part of a formal games journalism site. She has real contacts, which would probably be why EatChildren says that she probably has some reason for saying what she says, but she's not part of the official paid games media.

With the ESRB no longer charging for certification on download services, such as the eShop, do you think we will see more Virtual Console games released in the future?

That's what I was thinking when I read about that. I hope so. Seems to me I remember some speculation that that's why there were so few N64 games. They cost(ed) more than they probably should to get ESRB ratings.

That's entirely backward. If anything, those games should have cost less as they were already ESRB rated with their original release.

(Granted, I'm assuming digital releases needed to get rated AGAIN, but you can't explain the lack of N64 titles on ESRB ratings when NES and SNES titles were released in fairly plentiful amounts.)
