^ lol wow you do
At the very least, it means phoenix (or.. is a tree... but I'll take the mythical immortal bird meaning!).That's an awesome name and that's coming from someone named Guy.
Yeah, you ain't got nothin' on Phuong Nguyen! XD I am so anonymous because of my name that I guess it's okay sharing it online.Lmao. I always thought I was the John Smith of Vietnamese names being Tam Nguyen. It's one of the reasons why I go by the pseudonym Johnny, most people invariably call me John anyhow. I have an aunt named Phuong as well. That's how you know you're Vietnamese, you've got a relative named Phuong :l You should take a shot at the art thing BTW. My sister went to the School of Visual Arts for cartooning. Everyone in my family opposed it, but life's short; sometimes you gotta follow your calling. I'm sure Scorcho would tell you the same if he was still around :/
Do you also have one named Tuyet and one named Vu and one named Lien? XD I swear, there is so much overlap when it comes to vietnamese names! I don't know anyone else in my family who has signed up to GAF except my brother and sister.. Though maybe one of my cousins who used to go by Johnny might be the likeliest candidate..... >__>I have a cousin named Linh and another one named Phuong (and yes, Nguyen is my name). So your post freaked me out, but then I remembered my cousin is married, so she's probably not named Nguyen anymore.
But yeah, I freaked out a little. o_o
According to wikipedia, 39% of all viet surnames are Nguyens.. o___oI only say that bc I know 4 girls and 2 guys named Linh. At least I'm not a Nguyen. Too many of those.
i dont even know who that fuck is

Guy is also a pretty cool name! But I suppose you pronounce it as "gi" instead of "gai"
If fiction's doing it so can I!

My 4 year old is currently battling ALL T-Cell Leukemia and undergoing massive chemotherapy that will go on for 3 years. She's officially in remission, but they still have the treat to ensure that it doesn't come back.
I'm Jon. Live in Austin, TX
I went to Florida State University and am a diehard Noles fan. Support the Orlando Magic (hometown)
The cat in your avatar is gorgeous, KuroNeeko.
Hi, I'm Nathan. Here is a picture of me I deem acceptable, and one I do not.
I study English Literature & Creative Writing at a university in Twickenham, London. I have a girlfriend, our third anniversary is on the 4th November. I have two brothers - one of who also posts here - my mum and my dad, and a gorgeous golden retriever.
I support Manchester United, and most my posts are in the football thread. I love movies. I love music, Bob Dylan and Radiohead specifically. I love Chinese food. I love coming up with new names for penises.
Despite having quite the annoying, vulgar, immature posting style (G-Fex come back to me <3), I'd like to think I'm an okay guy. Love the GAF community. I really do. Cheers guys.
I have a Vu, and the rest... well, maybe, to be honest I've lost track on an important part of my family since we're settled both in Europe and in the US.Do you also have one named Tuyet and one named Vu and one named Lien? XD I swear, there is so much overlap when it comes to vietnamese names! I don't know anyone else in my family who has signed up to GAF except my brother and sister.. The rest of us don't? That sucks!Hi, I'm Sabbir. I am 31. I think I've been on GAF since like 2000 or something. I don't post as much as I used to, or actually feel like part of a community as I used to, mostly because GAF grew too big and I do not play games at all anymore. Back in the days I was a huge gamer.
I am originally from Bangladesh, but I have lived in NYC most of my life and I love this city. I am an Engineering Manager, with an MBA, but I constantly wish I was involved in a creative industry, unfortunately, like many, I can't afford to quit my job and follow my passions. I used to write, but even that I haven't had much time for lately.
I have been happily married for almost 3 years to a wonderful woman who puts up with me. Like my GAF name suggests, I am a perpetual loner, so I have no clue how I got lucky! Some of you guys yet have a chance!
Snip.
It's only a maxium of 2 times a week on Mondays and perhaps also on Saturday. So I plan just to travel it. Its parttime so the other 3/4 days I have to find a job to work at or study for it. No its not really a university like Uva or VU its called ''Schrijvers vaksschool'' in English Writers School or something like that. I dont think its either HBO, MBO or University. Are you planning on traveling from Rijswijk to Amsterdam everyday, for the writers course. Or are you moving to Amsterdam? Is it at UvA or something?
Holy shit man you look a lot like Phil Anselmo.

Please tell me you've played 999 and have VLR coming. You should post more. I think there are quite a few people on GAF who've struggled with social anxiety and have made a ton of progress since. Jipan and even Evilore come to mind. Try to attend a GAF meet up or somethingSome really nice artwork in here
My name is Melanie, I am 29, and have lived in western PA my whole life. I have a degree in animation, and I plan to go into games, but I have been set back unfortunately due to illness. I don't post too much since I have a lot of social anxiety issues that extend to online as well, but I am working on trying to improve that.
As far as games go, I love horror and Nintendo games
Well, my family wanted me to become a doctor (of course) and pressured me into a corner, whereby I decided to just pick psychology and Occupational Therapy because that was still healthcare-related, but more interesting to me--plus cheaper. I'm one of the eldest in my generation though, so a lot of my aunts and uncles were hoping I'd "lead the way" or make sure all the other children followed my academic achievements and become doctors or engineers or something as well. I kind of resented that, but now I also feel guilty I "let them down".
I think I still need to get my confidence and act together before I can throw myself into the professional world of art, but eventually I'll happen! It's really been my only ambition since the beginning, but I just love dabbling too much.
Where does your family live? My girls family is in Antofagasta. Sounds shitty being away from your family and little bro like that.you don't watch Mad Men? Daaamn, son!
Anyway, my name is Camilo (pronounced kah-MEE-loh) and here's probably the only good picture of my ugly self.
EDIT: A bit more information about me: I'm chilean, currently studing Laws (and I've never liked it very much) at (arguably) the best chilean university, Universidad de Chile. I'm an aspiring (emphasis on aspiring) writer/poet and I have a blog with some of my work, which is in spanish so most of you wouldn't be able to understand it, I guess. I don't consider myself a good writer/poet, but I try hard enough and sometimes, good things come out. Sadly, my law studies have fucked my creativity and after years of writer's block, only this year I have been able to conquer it partially. I'll just have to keep on going, I guess, and try to get better at it every day.
I have a little brother with severe autism. As my family lives in a (small-ish) city in northern Chile and I live in the capital, I don't see them much. When I first left my parents' home it was quite shocking and, frankly, depressing. But I got over it. I still miss them sometimes, though. Especially my brother. I just love his small (and usually rare) displays of affection... he has his own way of saying to me that he misses me. And sometimes, the only thing I'd like to do is to hug him for minutes.
I visited England in 2005 (Salisbury and London, mainly) and Canada (Edmonton) last year. I definitely want to go back to both of those places. Loved them both and have really fond memories of both travels.
If you want to know something else about me, something not very private (sorry guys and gals!), I would be glad to reply.
Cheers, GAF.
Is your second name Bell?
Looks like that arrow is pointing right at your Johnson. Is that the joke?

I'd love to visit the country one day.

KuroNeeko said:She's got a heart as black as her fur. Actually, she's got some social problems as well. I saved her when she was just a kitten. I found her in a rainy gutter covered with fleas. Her eyes hadn't even opened yet. She's been having trouble adjusting to my 2-year old son and gets jealous of my wife. I love her to death, though. Thanks for the compliment;D
You ever read Hardboiled Wonderland? That's my favorite of his. A pretty crushing novel but I loved it all the same.
Ah yeah, it's a visual novel/ adventure game, so likely pretty from what you're used to. I wouldn't let that sway you too much because the game is only $15 on Amazon and just about everyone who's tried it has been blown away by it (with a few exceptions). I think Aksys had a demo on their site, not sure if its still up though. And yeah, I hope you do post more and get out there a bitI haven't played 999 yet. It didn't initially look interesting to me, but I have heard a lot of good things about it. Alas, I have no extra game-buying money right now, but I'll look into it when I do. I would definitely like something horror-esque on my 3DS (so far all I have are the Dementium games).
I'll try to post more, and I would go to a GAF meetup, but the closest city to me where there would be one is Pittsburgh, and unfortunately, that is too far as of right now.
I've read just about everything he's written and it's amongst my favorites, yeah. It's a dual narrative, similar to Kafka, and pretty damned surreal, so I think you'd enjoy it. I wasn't too taken by Kafka to be honest. After Windup-Bird Chronicle, it's hard to be impressed by his later works as they aren't anywhere near as ambitious. I have 1Q84 but still haven't gotten around to reading it so I'm not sure if that statement will be redacted in the future. No I haven't. But I heard great things about it. I might start buying/reading it someday! Did you even like it better than Kafka on the Shore?
