Goodbye, Gaborn :( Losing one of LionsGAF's own, not to mention the amount of news stories he posted, really, really hurts.

Rest in peace, my friend.
 
Well, it's time to pay homage to you buddy. You've been an awesome contributor to GAF and I must admit I appreciated every single thread of yours (due to my morbid curiosity). What I do think was great about you was that you always expressed yourself without restrain, but always in a civil manner. A good buddy to discuss with you were.



And sometimes, that's all that matters. I hope you are sitting at your right place in the gaming heaven.
 
Goddamn, this is really a shock, I read so much of his threads where the news were shocking, the gaffers would complain and as the only answer, you had the smile of his avatar, that smile.

RIP Gaborn.

Rip gaborn. Often disagreed, but always respected. I mostly avoided the gaborn news side, the political and personal side were what I found so endearing. Didn't know him personally, but he had a positive impact on many people.

Rip copper track. I never knew ya, but sad to see another member gone.

Teared up bad at the story of his best friend and at the post "gaborn news, signing out". Thank you stump for letting us know.

eep. this is pretty hard to take in. he was a good guy and a gaf institution. both his gnn debate posts make gaf an interesting and addictive place. rest in peace, yo

"Gaborn" isn't his real name, it's an alias. By default, that usually means that someone doesn't want everybody to know their real name.

As Stumpokapow said, it's not anyone's place to violate his privacy. Please don't go looking to find his personal info.
 
it kinda feels like a part of the OT just went. I used to read this guys topics when I was lurking and I have to say with his topics he elicited a range of emotion from me that few content contributors do. he will be missed for sure.

id appreciate someone pming me the obituary.
 
We've lost some people lately and it really hits close to home. I obsessively come on this site and I get to know each and every person who I see post regularly. I just have to say that I love GAF like a giant family and Gaborn, rest in peace.
 
I saw this thread before I went to bed and I thought it wasn't something serious... now we know he's dead? Sigh ,_,

RIP Gaborn, I always enjoyed your weird and depressing news. Well, enjoy might be the wrong word, but they were sure interesting!
 
Gaborn will be missed. I had been wondering where he had gone to:( Come to think of it, for a while, people often wrote "Gaborn not again!!!" in depressing news threads and then noticed that it wasn't him who posted the thread. I always enjoyed his well written posts and loved how he brought up so many interesting subjects through his threads.

RIP to Gaborn and all those we left us recently. You will be missed.
 
Man, when I look at the list of threads he did, I get humbled. It's like a mirror reflect of our world and the humans in particular.

As I didn't know him personally I feel bad even saying it but was he openly out to his family? I only say because it may be wise to use discretion when posting condolence messages on his obituary as if he wasn't then there may have been a reason.

Sorry if that sounds a bit heartless

I was hoping I'd wake today and he had posted and it was all a huge coincidence but the obituary with photo seems to confirm it :(

Woah, I had no intention of looking for his personal info... I suppose for me, reading an obituary is a way of paying my respects since it's something that a family usually puts out there to commemorate the life of a person. Like I said, I fully understand. And yeah I know his real name is not Gaborn. :p
 
The news will never be the same. R.I.P. Gaborn

It's weird to think about, but there could be a lot of Gaffers who just passed away without anyone knowing. People who just post here and there.
