They think that whatever they did or earned in life was based on hard work alone and if they can do it then everyone else can.
They don't realize that yes hard work is part of it but so is opportunity and safety nets that get you back up.

My mom has this. You get a basic phone and one of a couple different plans. It meant she could do away with the expense of a home phone, but she runs out of minutes like a week before the end of the month. Still, a fairly nice program.

But I also see Obama doing what he wants and the American people want to get done such as raising taxes on the rich. He mostly held back on that in his last term because he spent a lot of capital on other liberal things like the Afordable Health care Act and Don't ask don't tell.

These people have legitimate fears for what's happening in this country. The problem is their fears are focused on the wrong person.
They don't realize that corporate power is a huge part of our problem and that voting for congressional members is as equally important as voting for the President.
They're under educated people who group up with years of religious indoctrination. So it's very hard to get them to see the voice of reason. Corporations and the GOP know this so they take advantage of those facts and use Obama as a scape goat.
