The chick from Kick-Ass would be pretty good for MJ.

It's hard to think of any girls that are universally agreed to be hotter than Emma Stone.

^Yeah, casting appropriately is going to be hard as hell, since they need not only a decent actress but someone who both looks the part and has the 'hots' factor at the same time.. Maybe Evan Rachel Wood?;

So we expect Mary Jane to turn up in The Amazing Spider-Man2?

I only want Gwen in it, for them to get closer to each other, and thus have a bigger impact for her
inevitable death.

^Basically what i've been saying from the start. I want them to save that for 3. Wrap up the first 'trilogy' with that ending, for the next three films to be a new phase about him recovering and settling with MJ. They would be stupid if they're not planning for the future like that. The whole reason Raimi's SM failed is because they ran out of ideas and had no good future setup. That needs to be locked down this time.

BUT, they could still introduce an MJ character in ASM2, along with Harry, but not focus heavily on them yet. The sooner they introduce her the better, as it'll make the transition easier to accept if the character has already been established in prior movies, rather than her coming up out of nowhere.

They could introduce MJ in the sequel. But they would be smart not to do anything more than her being a side character with no romantic angle. I really want an emotional pay off to the Gwen/Peter arc.

^I lol'd. That would be borderline trolling. Also, how fucking weird is it that both actresses who've played Gwen were known for their red hair. But on tl;dr on bryce: not hot enough, too old. :p

I have never found Bryce Dallas to be attractive and I really couldn't feel her Gwen. Maybe MJ? Njah, hopefully someone else will do Mary Jane.

Random thought about the film:

After the climax of the film, when
Peter returns home with horrible injuries but he also has the eggs. What is Aunt May supposed to be thinking her? What emotions is she supposed to be feeling? Does she know that he is Spider-man or has she just come to terms with the fact that he will frequently get horribly injured without explanation? I remember sort of smiling in the theater at the scene when it happened but then realizing a second later that the reactions from the characters didn't make any sense.

I haven't seen it since opening weekend so my confusion might be partly related to my fuzzy memory on the topic.

Ugh, when the casting rumors start to fly, that will spoil the villain and plot easily since it'll be easy to work out what comicbook story they plan to adapt.

Guess it's time to avoid Spiderman discussions again.

Loving the fact that it's all but confirmed at this point that Shailene Woodley will be playing MJ. Perfect casting.

Anyway, this deleted scene (albeit unfinished) sums up how much we really lost with the re-cut; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YhEK2PP6a0

Conners and the Lizard would have been so much more fleshed out with this, as would the random Oscorp scientist and Peters father. Fucking shame.

Man I really really hope we get a proper cut of this. I mean I still think what we got was pretty great, especially considering the circumstances but...just...what could have been :C

the part with peter and the scientist was a poor cut in my opinion. they cut this scene but left the scene where he leaves a bloody hand print as he makes his way toward the oscorp building. that was obviously a call back to this scene.

I would like to see a director's or proper cut. it's the same way I feel about prometheus. after watching all the deleted scenes, it makes you question why they cut so many important scenes.

I notice the picture is 5 months old, are there more recent pictures of how she looks?

Well thats probably related to Sally Fields being a horrible actress.

just saw it for the first time last night, the CG was ridiculously bad (thought the entire first trilogy was 100x better visually) though they did have some way better "spiderman" action shots that fit well.

Story seemed to just zoom past any sort of relevance and the acting wasnt great at all.

Not a horrible movie, but not good by any means.

Rewatched this the other day, and I felt so incredibly bored.

Everything about this movie just makes me sad because of how little of a scope it's got.

No sense of tone, the most boring rendition of New York in forever and such a clumsy script.

I defended this movie like crazy before its release because I never considered the Raimi-trilogy to be as fantastic most considered them to be.

Not a bad movie though, just really dull and uninteresting.

17 minutes of cut footage LOL, wow Sony, just wow.
Im pretty sure almost every big blockbuster movie has at least that much cut out of it as far as near finished scenes, not counting nips and tucks/retakes, etc, unless you're James Cameron or Peter Jackson where you have hours worth of actual deleted scenes.

Its not out until the 9th, according to Amazon.
I preordered the BluRay. Im excited to watch it again.
Oh okay. Well it's out here in Denmark so I guess I'm gonna pick it up in about an hour.

EDIT:
Just watched it on my HMZ-T1 and as unimpressive as the 3D can be, it actually were more enjoyable on my second viewing. Really nice movie. :)

Can't wait for the Blu-ray release. There's a Steelbook version that I can't wait for.

For no reason at all, here's a GIF I made:
