I wouldn't. If you want a playable deck instantly I would buy the Creep and Conquer Event deck. If you want to build a deck I would buy a fat pack OR even better I would draft if you have access to them. If you already have in mind what deck you want to build I would buy singles.
great way to get mana, but 200 cards is very small
so yes, get a deckbuilders toolkit if you want more

Weird, we talked about that card last night during a Commander game, where my friend ultimated his Karn and restarted the game. If someone played that white monstrosity during an EDH game, I'd scoop.

So, in an EDH game, if someone resolves Shahrazard, and your commander is in play, do you get to take your commander with you to the subgame?

Well my core 2013 box finally shipped! That's it, I guess I'm officially into magic. I'm really excited to start playing with my friends and bothering you guys with dumb questions every time we play

Best place? Your favorite LGS. Reality? Buy them everywhere! They are extremely addicting.
I have a shop between my subway station and my home. I pass by it twice a day to and from work. The draw to buy just one pack is intense, let me tell you.

Rules question: Say I have a Typhoid Rats (1/1 deathtouch). Can I block a creature and regenerate it with Swarmyard and still kill the blocked creature?
Yup. As long as the Rats dealt damage to the blocked creature, Deathtouch kicks in and the creature dies, no matter how much damage it was or if your Rats dies or regenerates as well.
Yep. Regeneration just puts a "shield" on the creature that will trigger the first time it is destroyed. If nothing happens to your creature before the combat damage step it will take lethal damage in combat, deal its 1 point of deathtouch damage, and then regenerate instead of going to the graveyard, leaving it tapped on your side of the field.
If something happens to destroy it before combat damage (say it gets Lightning Bolted or whatever) it will get removed from combat and not deal its damage because regenerating removes a creature from combat. (Assuming the regeneration ability resolved before said destruction.)
As long as the other creature doesn't have first strike- Regen is a replacement effect that occurs when the creature would die, which has a side effect of removing it from combat

Thanks. I wasn't sure if "removing it from combat" would also remove the damage it dealt.
The removing from combat aspect only comes into play if someone does something to kill it before damage resolves. Say a searing spear or something.
Yeah, it was played out a handful of times and then it just became an auto-scoop from most people since they don't want to play it out that much. There's pretty much an unspoken rule in the circle I play with that you don't play that spell anymore.

Attempt #1, a sort of Jund brew.
Lotleth trolls for regenerating defenders that can also pitch any wurms you draw (who when discarded get shuffled back into your library). The Jarrad's orders let you fetch a beast tracker to your hand and pitch the wurm (again reshuffled). Bunch of removal to just buy time. Thragtusks because... well... green mana.
You want her against the U/W or U/R/w Draw-Go decks.
Tool kit is fantastic.
It is 4 packs plus cards plus land for not much more than the price of the four packs.

EDIT2: Oh yes, Jace in the second deck. Also gives you an alternate way to theoretically get the Wurm onto the table if you can get him to ultimate.

I sporadically subscribe to them, mostly on Quarterly memberships (10 dollars for 3 months), but at this point, with how strong CFB is on video content (assuming you have ad block installed, of course), and the articles on Dailymtg and Brainburst, the only reason I have even been going to SCG.com over the last month or so was for the weekly Chas Andres columns on finance, because he is such a great writer and I always learn something from them. Now that my 10 dollars that previously bought me 90 days now buys me 30 days, I'll probably just wait a month to read his stuff.
I'm glad they are going full-scale porn site mode though with a 3.99 weekly pass. Kinda sad they didn't just go all the way and make it a 48 hour VIP pass for 2 dollars or something though.
