PS+ for PS Vita comes next week with FW 2.00, games revealed (WOW)

Getting GR again for the price of three month sub is enticing, but locked out of the game makes me wanna take the money to rebuy a cart instead. Then again, Wipeout and LBP 2 for PS3 does make it a great deal.

Hell of a deal. However, I'm still not convinced this is enough to keep my Vita. I've played through the Vita games and have the others already =/

by the time cloud saves come the value will drop a ton. BB doesn't update their TIV until way later.

You don't need the cart to use cloud save, at least, I highly doubt you'll need the cart in to do so, you don't need the disk in your PS3 to upload your saves.

I traded Gravity Rush in the moment I read that it was part of the PS+ about 8 hours ago. No need to wait.

No, I mean I can back up my Little Kings Story save file (PSN only game), delete the game to make room on my mem card, then later redownload the game and my save file?

Yes. Saves are tied to the account, not to what is currently installed. you can manage what saves are in your account so if you knew you were never going to go back you could just delete that save from the cloud.

I think they replied on the blog saying that you upload a retail save to the cloud and then download it to convert it to a digital save.

Basically, they said that retail and digital versions of the games share the same save. When you upload your saves to the cloud (no matter if it's digital or retail), restoring those saves will be used for any version of the game, even if it's different than the one from that save is stored.

God this deal is so fucking awesome for a new Vita owner like me! I got the Liberation bundle on launch day and have been wanting Gravity Rush so bad (but budget is tight right now with all the console games).

Very very excited. Played the GR demo and fucking loved it. So excited.

This is good, but where do we know this from?

IGN.

Monday, November 19th, Vita Firmware 2.00 will go live and show PlayStation Plus functionality – along with allowing Vitas to check Gmail and Yahoo email, wirelessly communicate with PCs, tweak PSone game settings, and use the web browser more effectively. Then, when the PlayStation Store updates on Tuesday, November 20th, the first round of free-to-PlayStation Plus subscriber Vita games will be available.

Given that a lot of the launch titles on PSN are still at launch prices rather than the lowered MSRPs, I just hope the don't give us fake discounts by keeping digital prices higher than they should be and then discounting them for PS+ members.

So in a nutshell:

-PS+ Vita content will be posted on the PS3 Store too (so it's also available for PS3 users who still don't have a Vita).
-1GB of cloud save storage, that will be added to the PS3 1GB storage.
-PS+ cloud saves will let you transfer game saves from retail carts to the PSN version.
-Like in PS3, 'purchase' free games while available in the store and download or play them until you keep renewing the subscription. However, if you decide to re-activate your membership, you will once again be able to play all games downloaded from the Instant Game Collection.
-Special discounts (-20% for the first offers) to purchase games that won't expire with your subscription.
-First month free games : Uncharted GA, Gravity Rush, Mutant Blobs Attack!!! worldwide, in addition to Wipeout 2048, Jet Set Radio HD and Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions.
-Automatic software updates.
-Automatic trophy sync.
-PS+ Vita content will be limited through DRM to 2 consoles and 2 handhelds per account.

Vita firmware v2.00

-Email app (Gmail, Yahoo!, other IMAP/POP3).
-1080p video playback.
-Video now supports closed captioning.
-Content manager with PS3/PC now using wi-fi too.

Picking up the Lego Batman 2 deal at Target.

$199 - %10 employee discount from a friend - %5 RedCard discount - $10 coupon I received in the mail today = $168 total for the system. I have a 16 GB card from my first foray with the system, though PS+ may now force me to upgrade.

Yeah it's a pretty good update.

Just not sure if CC on videos are limited to Vita or are also coming to PS3 videos, that means if I buy Spiderman on PSStore and I want to watch it on PS3 and PSV, I can only watch it with CC on Vita? Doesn't make much sense to be honest. Furthermore is CC added to ALL video content or just certain movies? Would be nice to have language and subtitle options but baby steps I guess. Same with PS3/PC content manager, I guess they will eventually get to the point where you can buy/queue stuff from a PC/tablet/smartphone.

CC is apparently only on the Youtube app, which frankly isn't really supported.

I'd be over the moon if Sony provided CC support on the PSN store, but I know that ain't going to happen in my lifetime.

I love +. LIVE never got me, I feel that I'm being gouged pretty much just for MP. I don't want to pay MS for buying a game and again for the pleasure of using 1/2 or more for that software.

I've had + since it was introduced and let it lapse for maybe a month before reupping. Just the better deal IMO.

I was going to buy JSR (Vita) anyway and only have Mutant Blob on that list. I hope the deals continue!

Wow really? You just threw cold water on update 2.0 if what you're saying is true.

I honestly don't know, but there's no mention of the PSN store getting CC support. The CC announcement was tied to the Youtube app earlier which makes sense since the Youtube browser/computer stream has had CC support for a while.

But yeah, I'm not hyped either way since 1) I'm sure Sony won't support it 100% like Netflix/Hulu doesn't (fucks sake, why the fuck is Arrested Development's captions crap out in the middle of Season 3, Hulu?) and 2) Youtube uploaders NEVER use it, even professional channels like "Rev3."

How was CC tied to the YouTube app?

CC is for your own videos that you transfer to the Vita.

Then stop giving misinformation

Ah, you're right. Even more useless then since PSN won't ever get CC files for the file formats both hardware platforms support.

I mean shit, the PS3 has had caption support for ages and no push on PSN by Sony, so... yeah, still not hyped for that but it's a nice gesture by Sony.
