Nintendo Downloads - November 2012

aargh faster than me ! :)

so maybe Myst, and curious about that Mensa game.
I love puzzles, if they can provide hard ones I'm in :)

Four retail games added to eShop this week, all of which are 3rd Party. Looks like Nintendo is really getting serious with this.

Nintendo 3DS | eShop Original Software, Downloadable Content and Demos

Nintendo DSi | DSiWare

Well, Virtual Console was fun while it lasted.
VC is officially dead on all Nintendo platforms until they start trickling out GamePad-enabled versions of NES classics from the 1980s for $4.99/each once a week (but not every week) starting in Spring 2013.

At least we get Crashmo next week.

Hotel Transylvania looks... great? It's made by WayForward and it's $29.99. There are some Metroidvania-like skills in the video, is the game level-based or does it have a Metroid-like map?

Nintendo is fucking shit. THIS IS ALL I WANTED FROM YOUR MEDIOCRESHOP BUT NOOOOO

What about all the good / very good original content available already and soon on the eShop? Doesn't that count to you?

Not really, I'd be happier if all they did was release (good) VC games every week instead. The only legit one I'm interested in is Shantae but its too expensive so I wait.

(NoA)

so next week Crashmo
and end of year for Fluidity

Aren't we still meant to be getting the other 2 Guild 01 games, I really want Crimson Shroud. And what about Unchained Blades, heck knows when thats coming out.

And all the VC games, maybe they'll do a Winter of Retro promotion like they did in the Summer? I'm really keen for Wario Land 2 as well as Harvest Moon & Legend of the River King which where announced a few months back.

Not sure what I'll get this week, was thinking about getting Epic Mickey, but its cheaper to get it from Amazon including shipping to Aus I think then to buy digital. I was hoping being a 3rd party game it might be lower in price. Alas I was wrong.

Good to see 3rd party retail games up, hopefully we see some more major 3rd party stuff like Super Street Fighter 4, Final Fantasy Theaterythm & Heroes of Ruin as they would be great fits for the service.

Jump Trials is a sequel to 10-Second Run, which was quite a good (albeit extremely bite-sized) platformer. This one looks to have twice as many levels, so hopefully it won't be over and done with in an hour like the first one. I'll buy it if it'll fit in my 3DS's DSiware fridge.

I noticed that Zelda II has a "coming soon" section in the Virtual Console section of the eshop.

Ninja Gaiden has a gameplay video in the eshop, but no "coming soon" mention.

Shame RCR wasn't done back when World of Goo and Bit.Trip Beat were hot shit on WiiWare. I doubt many people care anymore.

I would wait for some reviews...these games usually end up as being disappointing

the VLR demo isn't available all over europe it seems. I've only seen it in the UK eshop so far. can anyone else outside the uk confirm that it is available? (no need to check the German eshop, it's not there)

But I am glad that changing the region is pretty quick and seamless.
It's kinda funny seeing nintendo giving you the advice to change the region if you can't download something :D

Post impressions. Specifically whether or not you spend more time respawning after you die than actually playing, because that really bugged me about 10 Second Run.

Myst and I have a funny relationship. I got the original PC version back around when it came out, and since then have also purchased the 10th Anniversary Collection (which includes Myst Masterpiece Edition, as well as Riven and Myst 3: Exile), RealMyst, Myst on GoG, and Myst for DS.
Despite owning all those different versions of it, I'm not sure I've actually ever made it past the first Age. I just spend most of my time wandering around the opening area.

It's not that I don't like or don't understand Adventure games - I love them, and have beaten plenty of them. Just, for whatever reason, I just have never gotten around to actually going through Myst... Yet I keep purchasing all these different versions of it.
And, yes, I'll get this one as well. Maybe having it sitting there staring at me from my 3DS main screen will finally get me to play through it.

I can confirm you that it is also on the Spanish eShop.

And, hey, maybe this is really old and I never noticed it before, but, first time I noticed this. Normally, if you choose at add funds on the 3DS shop, it gives you the $10, $20, and $50 (or whatever they were) increments, with no option to be able to add different amounts.

I had like $29.72 or something in my account, which was like $0.58 short of what I needed to purchase Myst. As opposed to adding funds ahead of time though, I clicked through the game's page, and the Purchase link, and of course it said I didn't have enough, and gave me an option to add funds. Here though, as well as the typical set amounts, it had an option for "Add needed amount," which let me just add the $0.58 I had needed to be able to purchase the game.

As I said, might be very old news for everyone else, but I hadn't noticed/come across that before.

I could download it (Dutch eshop).

It was pretty fun, the demo actually convinced me to buy it when it comes out.

Though one question, is it possible to get the silver ending (second code for the safe) in the demo?
