Hello There, Racists!

A tumblr was made to showcase some of the racist comments made by people since Obama's re-election. Their names (and in one case, driver's permit) are not blocked. And in case you're wondering why such private info is being put on display:
"The (un)official motto of the GOP is "personal responsibility" - so with publicly available information, let the words, names, and faces of these racists be documented so that they may be responsible for them."
"ALL information gathered here, is/was completely public at the time gathered. None of it was private, but totally publicly available information, voluntarily put forth by these individuals. All are things that people posted, identifying themselves with their own names and faces. I am just bringing it all to a place where they may be responsible and (hopefully) understand the consequence of their words (and hopefully their parents, schools, and employers too)."

Let's stop this GAF. It feels like piling on now and I'm starting to feel dirty.

However, racists are cunts and should be exposed. I'm torn.

This tumbler is wrong on so many levels.

I love the posting of such relevant info as where they go to school or where they work.

People have a freedom of speech. Yes, they might use that freedom for awful things, but it's still their right. We shouldn't be attacking people for exercising their right to free speech. Just ignore it, and if they have no audience to speak to, they'll shut up.

These are all kids. It's like giving people an Xbox live mic, they say the same things. They don't say this out loud do they?

Love how most of them on the first page are punk kids.

If they're posting this crap to people they know personally know they sure won't care about strangers on the internet.

Of course they will. Just because they posted something on the internet doesn't mean they don't think it's relatively anonymous.

people have freedom of speech. including the people running that tumblr. feel free to ignore it. and this thread. and the racists. or feel free to complain. just feel free.

Nothing reinforces your stance of being morally superior like going on a witch hunt.

A witch hunt is when you lack a good reason for suspicion but you go prying around people's personal lives looking for things to beat them up with.

This is merely gathering public information that these people themselves put out into public sphere for everyone else to view.

Yeah because I trust everyone of my facebook friends and assume they'll agree with backwards ass racist thinking from 50 years ago. :/

Unless the only people in your group are KKK members and other avowed racists then you're an idiot posting such offensive shit thinking everyone's going to be cool with it. They deserve to be publicly shamed. Give them a lesson on personal responsibility and more importantly... the internet.

You just don't get the same feeling of superiority if you ignore it.

So they posted one guy's drivers license? If he is the victim of identity theft and finds out this was available like this the blog owner could be liable I'd think.

They have their freedom of speech, but along with that freedom comes responsibility. Anything they say, they're responsible for.

That said, I'm not sure if I like these witch hunts and public shamings.

Most of them look like kids, not even old enough to vote.

They literally have the Driver's License of a 15 year old up -_-

are you aware of how many people post their drivers license or credit card on twitter? it's not like they snuck in and stole it...
