If you guys think this is the only government official confirming the existence of non-human intelligence on this planet, I'd suggest you look a little deeper. Not saying any of it is necessarily "real" or "true" (however you want to quantify those words) but this is something that's being talked about openly, pretty much all over congress and even the senate as well.
