I don't think Marvel has enough Avengers books coming out next year.

it's dumb, i doubt this will attract any new comic book readers. hell i think i personally introduced more people to buying floppy comics than the recent great marvel u movies did.

having said that, i'm still about to buy 5 avengers related comics a month :/

He's talking about the picture, you know the chin. We should start some kind of betting pool at this rate. Temp avatars for those who call it wrong or something.

I don't really see the chin as pointing to anything, personally. one chin sort of looks like another- and who knows how
o'hara's
chin will be drawn.

But there's too many random signs pointing to his inclusion- (potential spoilers? I guess?)

1.) we had the "twitter leak" a month or so ago where it got mentioned. but it could be a red herring, if dan slott is a bastard, I guess.

2.) superior spider man's powers are a carbon copy of
o'hara's
. We can even see in pre-release artwork that even the eye lenses of the spidey mask are modified for some reason, and
ohara's
eyes are known to be sensitive to the point where sunglasses are necessary in ordinary daylight. Making a completely separate character a modern day version of him (especially when his existence is unknown to everyone but peter and maybe a couple of characters in exiles) would be a really strange editorial decision. Caveat: the toes aren't exactly as I remember, I recall
o'hara
having talons on all 5 toes, not just the one. But stranger things have happened.

3.) for some reason, marvel/dan slott went out of their way to establish Tiberius Stone as the father/ancestor of tyler stone, father of
o'hara
. Tiberius is working at horizon labs. Why on earth you would do this, especially when that book has been dead for 16 years is a mystery- unless you planned on bringing the character back at some point.

4.) someone at horizon labs invented a time machine.

5.) The solicit to avenging spider man #17 points to time manipulation, and "the future" being compromised somehow exposing spider man's secret, or identity. This would have zero relevance to anyone originating in the present day.

not saying it's 100% who I think it is, but there are a lot of weird little coincidences here and there.

Miguel is off the table BleedingCool aka Rich Johnston confirmed it, Slott has also stated it's a character we have already seen in his run.

They did? Anything beyond villainous scientist with this last name working at a tech company? Could still be REDACTED. According to Rich Johnston
however, it's not
.

How long before these show up in the real world alongside "I'm Not Daredevil"?

The Rest
OMG, my waifu!!!

That WATXM cover is amazing too. You guys are welcome to your doubts about that series but Jason Aaron has established a tone to that book that unlike anything else in mainstream comics and it will be my favorite as long as he's on it, regardless of any sidesteps it may take.

Also Stone was just fired as of this week, so he's out for now
.

Or it's setup for him to branch out on his own and create a Horizon competitor to spite them.

i had just found the bleeding cool article, thanks for linking me to the top 10. Top 10 doesn't really say anything though, just that it's someone we've seen before. well- who isn't?

Not sure how much I trust bleedingcool- but whatever. he knows more than I do. Still a really bizarre choice to copy
miguel
if it ISNT him, though. There are loads of spider clones in the present day with copies of peter's powers- why replicate the powers of the one in the alternate future no one's aware of?

I have a question about digital comics...

Im thinkin of picking up a cheaper tablet ($200 Nexus) for the sole resaon of reading comics,

but right now I have an iphone and the comixology app does this thing where it presents the page to you panel by panel.

the problem with this is that it often does cut out parts of the art when there aren't word bubbles in them, you notice it in the transitions between panels and the only way to see the art is to double tap and drag the page in various directions.

I cannot figure out a way to jus make the app display the whole page instead of doing single panels (am I missing a setting somewhere?)

so if I get a bigger tablet, does it solve that issue and let me look at the entire page at once?

or should I jus save my $200 and stick with my phone?

Think it's okay for someone to jump in to if they've never read an X-Men comic? =/

There are worse places, if you know what happened in AvX and AvXConcequences then you'll be fine. Also everyone seems to like Wolverine and the X-Men.

You can set it to view the whole page on your phone so I don't see why not.

All New X-Men kinda hinges on the differences between young Cyclops and current Cyclops as well as the fallout from the Avengers vs X-Men series. I'd recommend Wolverine and the X-Men for a beginner. It's also the best Marvel comic right now.

I've no idea. I was just glancing through Comixology on my iPad and I noticed that the first issue was out today.

Wouldn't have to buy a ton of back issues.. =P

I like ANXM but it really needs time to prove itself before it proves to be a solid jumping on point. If you want my opinion go back and start WatXM and Gillen's Uncanny X-Men from their post-Schism number 1's. That (and AvX+Consequences) will give you a better sense of what the X-Men are currently all about.

Ed: If you want my better opinion, go way back and read M-Day, Messiah Complex, Messiah War, Second Coming and THEN do what I said above. That will give you a good sense of the arc of what has been going on with the X-Men for the last decade and give some weight to the goings on of the last couple months.

ooooooh ok I found the option!

but the option is to show you the whole page upon entering or exiting the page, or both,

so u still needa click your way thru all the panels which can be quite time consuming I guess...

I read thru some xmen schism earlier today and it took quite a long time lol

and if you want the best x-men series

Everybody should read UXF and it transcends being an "X-Men series" IMO. If someone wants to get into current running actual X-Men books though, it really doesn't have that much to do with what's going on currently.

Not Messiah War...

Any X-book written by Kyle and Yost is garbage.

Really, UXF for someone who has never read an X-Book before? Seems like some prior knowledge is required for the read.

Nah, I got a friend reading it and he likes it and he had very little prior X-Men knowledge. If you're familiar with the concept of AOA you're fine. Might help to read Fantomex's Wiki page to get some background on him if you haven't read New X-Men, but aside from that it's really not so complex.

It really is. I'm considering a re-read. What's great is he takes characters that have I feel have kind of become "stagnant" to an extent-and makes them all very interesting.

It has really been amazing to see the growth of these characters. I feel that Psylocke and Fantomex have been the stars of this series, but the arc they put Deadpool through has been inspiring. I will eagerly be waiting for the next issue (and hopeful for an omnibus).

Dojo Buster mode on!

Went to Drink & Draw and won me a Spider-Ham collection mothafuckaz! :D

Then went home since I'm beat from ze day job and I can't watch my friend keep fucking sucking at drawing. This shit drawing dude crying about not being able to attend an expensive ass art school. . . Maybe if you created something with some hype you'd get some recognition, scholarships, and be closer to achieving your dream. :|

Time for bed. BLECH.

re-reading Hickman's FF - still don't really understand the "inhumans" so i'm gonna try to track down jae lee's inhumans that spiderjerusalem suggested.

tell him to read wikipedia? worst advice ever. ideally, you'd want to read morrison's new x-men before UXF but that's a lot to take in.

just know:

apocalypse is a dick

in an alternate timeline, he runs shit and it's AWFUL

apocalypse turned angel into archangel, but now - thanks to his psychic ninja girlfriend - he can control his transformation from angel to demony archangel.

After reading the first issue of Fantastic Four, I think I am out. Characters are written like they were 15-20 years ago. Franklin is back to acting like a 5 year old, Johnny a shallow idiot, Ben a lovable dolt, etc.

I had a feeling like the end of Hickman's run would be my jumping off point, and this confirms it. I will try out at least the first issue of FF, but I think I will wait awhile before jumping back into the Fantastic Four.

Luckily Thor was excellent, and I didn't mind All New X-Men or X-Men Legacy. Still plenty to read.

It won't matter who is writing Fantastic Four, anyone trying to follow up what Hickman just did in that book is just going to feel wrong. It's not bad for what it is but there is no way it can possibly live up to what it was under Hickman.

I haven't tried Thor yet, I hear it's very metal.
