Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

Are PS Mobile games getting the kind of update support with new levels or characters or whatever heck else they get on iOS? Or is, for example, Super Crate Box a lazy port that will always be "as is"?

They can be updated. A few developers have promised future suport for games

these poor devs are in pure denial I really don't see any future for PSmobile, it's completely dead service.

There is no seller phone that support it that alone make it useless, there is no new announced devices since ages ago and this mean no real future for it outside of Vita,no "apps" that make Vita people actually care about this damn thing because it's now don't give them anything new, what left is the shitty games that are Z-rated iOS-like clones.

Sony should just kill it right now it and refocus on Minis and Discovery Apps.

(and no I don't hate PS mobile,it was a very good idea but failed completely and is worthless and waste of time right now)

Have you played them? Or just the quicklooks? What else do you not like about them? Nothing you mentioned is true for P4 at least.

P4 will get rid of the "not walking" issue of P3P and be a much more fluid game than P2 too.

I played both, maybe around 2 hours each.

Im sure p4 is better than both overall. Ill get around to it sometime.

The Playstation Mobile SDK has not been released yet.

It really don't change the fact that there is no big seller phones and other devices that support it or hell..even just new devices announced to support it in the future which mean no future for it or its original promise, and by that time when another two extra smelly homeless devs care to develop for it most people will not even remember what the hell this thing was.

I suggest you research things before you make claims. HTC recently partnered with it and all future phones by them will support PSM

Not that I doubt your words, but care to provide a link? Tried to google it but I only came up with websites that posted something about Sony suporting some HTC models, and not HTC committing to PSM.

Im really not into the Persona games but I dont wanna be left out when it releases and everyone is talking about it.
Well you should just get what you want. I'm not getting it till it's about $20 because I hated Persona PSP and thought Persona 3 FES was boring.

Well there is that PC streaming PS mobile app that some person is developing. I think that's pretty damn exciting, although I want to wait until it's out of beta. If Minecraft won't come over, I'll have to just stream it over :)

Why did you think it was boring? I have the game, tried it out yesterday on the pcsx2 emulator and it looks great. Especially the way you summon personas.

Agree, the presence of PSM is almost nonexistant. It should have a proper (re)launch next year with real support, Sony's own flagship phones aswel as the Galaxy S4, that would be good marketing.

I didn't want to make a new thread so I'm going to ask my question here. Does Sony repair Vita without a warranty? I don't mind spending money for repairs if it isn't too crazy. Damn Vita just slipped out of my hands and the upper part of the screen is messed up now :(

Ouch, bad feel story of the day. Oh and yeah, dont create a thread or they'll add "Its even shittily produced??" to their other lies regarding the Vita.

Lol, it had plenty of support when it launched. The wanted to give the limelight to select games first before opening up the SDK (this month) and flooding it with games).

And Sony's flagship phones are PS Certified. Samsung has no reason to allow Sony to put PSMobile on their phones right now. If it does well and Sony has some good numbers to show them, they might change their minds.

Damn. This is why I didn't take my Vita outside or walked around with it until I got a wrist strap for it (which arrived two days after my Vita). I had to buy a new screen for my PSP because of the one time I didn't use its wrist strap. Never again.

I looked up for a second to see the scores on some of the football games going on today, and it just slipped. It didn't fall far, but when I reacted to try and grab it I pushed the Vita against my desk. Well at least I can still play games on it until I can get it repaired.

Edit: The good news is that it does look like Sony repairs Vitas, but I still have no idea how much it costs. I'm hoping that it is less than $100, but I doubt it.

I think you have to pay half the cost.

The Vita should still be under warranty, but then screen damage...Isnt.

When Vita came out in February, i purchased the accident damage protection plan. When i had to retail swap my unit (defective vertical lines), I phoned Sony to inquire about transferring the warranty over to the new unit. It wasnt a repair and i fell within Gamestops 30 day window. They were cool about it.

Until I attempted to do so, after they gave me the okay. Sony did a song a dance, through many hoops I jumped and got the warranty money refunded, ultimately. I did inquire about the cost to replace the screen, in the event of: $130.

youre probably better off rebuying a Black Friday bundle, for $199 and moving over your mem card and such. at least then, you get a fresh warranty, fresh untouched analogs/buttons/screen and a new un-degraded from use and charging battery.

Man, in all the chaos of the Wii-U launch, nobody bothered to make the Sony/Vita is doomed topic of the day.

I never thought I'd see it happen!

Well no thread was made, but god damn if people didn't try and 'pull' a quick jab at it every now and again.

Like what was missed in thread form was alive in comments :p

And support for more countries! Honestly.

Yeah ... and considering TvSF is on it already.

Assuming you mean SFxT as TxSF isn't out yet (and neither are versus games).

Not trying to be a dick, mind you. Just trying to educate... :D
Besides, Capcom's decision to put SFxT on the Vita has nothing to do with what Namco Bandai decides to do with their IPs. :)

The Super Crate Box said that PSM devkit is still in Beta, and that a future version will allow them to include things like online leaderboards.
They said that when available they will update to add them. So I assume they're waiting for this SDK update to include these features in their first update.

Heh no offence taken. I have close to zero knowledge regarding this.

Still spouting your ignorant BS, it seems. :)

PSM is rolling out slowly... I think it will be quite good in a while.. Later this month it's open to every dev? Bout time! :) Ohh euuuflorriaaa..

Do I buy the Gravity Rush DLC this Wednesday?

I feel like, if I'm going to get it, it might as well be when I'm actually playing through the game. Getting it once I've finished kind of defeats the object of costume DLC.

Sure makes sense. Some DLC also add challenges though. Do all of them? That way you still have stuff to play in the new costume.

On another note, I CANT WAIT until tuesday. I want those games :))

People will tell you go for it, but I've still put it off, waiting for a price drop. I don't usually play through my games in one go and don't mind coming back to it later..

I think it's two story missions and two challenges per DLC. So six of each.

Edit:
Looking through the PSN store. Just writing some games in here I want to remember because they look interesting. Any impression appreciated.

Class of Heroes (Dungeon Crawler) - 15$
Disgaea Infinite (Visual Novel) - 15$
Eye of Judgement Legends (CCG) - 29,99$
Field Commander (Turn Based Tactics) - 9,99$
Gods Eater Burst (Monster Hunter Action RPG) - 19,99$
Growlanser Wayfarer of Time (JRPG) - 29,99$
Gurumin (Action RPG) - 14,99$
Gungnir (SRPG) - 29,99$
Kingdom of Paradise (3D Brawler) - 16,99$
Knights in the Nightmare (RPG + Shooter?) - 14,99$
Legends of War - Pattons Campaign (Strategy) - 19,99$
Lunar: Silver Star Harmony (JRPG) - 14,99$
Neutopia (Zelda style) - 5,99$
Patchwork Heroes (??? Quirky) - 9,99$
Phantom Brave : The Hermuda Triangle (SRPG) - 9,99$
Ragnarök Tactics (SRPG) - 24,99$
Unchained Blade (1st Person Dungeon Crawler) - 29,99$

Gurumin is great, but I would recommend the other Falcom games first (Ys series, TitS) but if you have those others, or need something cute and awesome, Gurumin is it. I own the PSP and PC versions of it.

Lunar is a good version of the game, it's really easy but the graphics are beautiful and it has the best version of the Lunar OST.

Question to the Vitabros, is Ninja Gaiden Sigma worth it? I got it at a b2G1 and am thinking of turning it in to Target or Walmart in order to get some PSN cards. Opinions?

It's NGS, minus a few costumes.

Looks nice and plays well enough. Still has all the flaws of the original game back in 2004. No checkpoints, outdated save system, bad platforming.

Also, the content they added in Sigma is a bit crap, and mandatory. The Rachel sections are especially noticeable for this.

But even so, the actual combat is still amongst the best out there. If you can see past the flaws, it's worth a play.

Dang it, why does this
supposedly
dead system have so many games? As much as I want to play Persona 4 Golden, I'll probably have to skip it for now. I'm only about 50% done with New Little King's Story and Ragnarok Odyssey, and I barely even touched NFS Most Wanted yet. And now Vita PS+? I can't take it anymore. :(

There's an easy solution bro!

send me all your games!

Thanks for the impressions, I was a bit surprised at the very positive Gurumin Reviews. It seemed kinda weird that something "cute" would be so high rated. Havent dug into Ys yet, but I know they are beloved games.

From what I gathered it seems to be a "fine" version of the game. Some weird Vita functionality apparently, but still a great game and as good a point as any to play the game if you havent played it yet.

Nah, he should sell his Vita. Only way out of this predicament.

I actually feel like I am going to go a bit overkill next week with the games I am getting, but whatever happens, I am NOT going to skip over P4G next week.

One thing that is better about PSM over minis is that, I think, the games get released in all territories. The Japanese lineup has tons of Western games that would otherwise never see the light of day on my Vita.

I'd like to see the service get better, and it's not great now, but it has potential.

Then I'd say if you want a great ARPG Ys Seven or Oath in Felghana are amazing. If you like old school Ys Chronicles is also amazing, and the sprites in that game look SO GOOD on the OLED. I'm in the middle of yet another playthrough of Ys I and II right now. I ADORE this series, and I will evangelize it any time I can.

I'm a huge NG fan, have played through the original 3 times (1 for each version, Original, Black, and Sigma) and loved the 360 NG2, just wondering if it still fells like NG.

Edit: New Page, buy Persona 4 Golden, and get PS+ to play Gravity Rush. Buy the PSP Ys Series, Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky and Persona 2: Innocent Sin
