Whatever good feelings you had reading that article will be destroyed by the comments below. Beware.
The comments on CNN are often worse than what you'll find on YouTube.

I usually just peak at CNN for popular stories, then go straight to Drudge Report.

maybe if obummer spent more time creating JOBS instead of pandering to 10 year olds the economy would not be in the shitter.

you guys see obummer writing to little girls and feel tingles up your legs. i see the unemployment rate and feel terror in my heart.

He should've handwritten it and also drawn a picture. Failure #1 as president elect. He better bring it if he wants to bounce back from this.

Annnnd peace out.

Obama pandering to people who are ineligible to vote? You don't say.

edit: ack, beaten on the pandering point by Frank. :/

Happy Obama can be so cool.

What if Mitt got that letter?

Romney sat stone-faced as the gay and lesbian couples pleaded with the governor to protect their families. "I didn't know you had families," said Romney, according to Wilson.

Perhaps Romney's most egregious dismissal dealt a heavy blow to Goodridge, who asked the governor what she should tell her 8-year-old daughter as to why their state's governor said her moms couldn't get married.

"I don't really care what you tell your adopted daughter," Romney said, according to Goodridge. "Why don't you just tell her the same thing you've been telling her the last eight years."

The remark brought Goodridge — who gave birth to her daughter — to tears, reports Boston Spirit. Romney then invited the press into his office, and called the meeting "pleasant."

I hear Romney sent this same girl a letter saying that he would cut both her parents hair.

Someone call the burn ward because Frank the Great is on FIRE!

So why is there some sort of fascination with people in a position of authority in America being called 'in-chief'?

Whenever I read a games review by someone in that job I just imagine them sitting there in a Red Indian headdress like a little boy.

The president also holds the title of Commander-In-Chief of the army.

Gay wedding official is a job dumb-dumb

I know that. I just want to know what the heck the 'in-chief' bit is about. It sounds quite childish to an outsider.

Its like being 'Commander smartypants'

Well, for one, it's not a specifically American term. It's a common title across many countries.

It also pre-dates the "indian" motif you were referring to above; it goes back to roman times and is basically a literal translation.

Also, the term "chief" is an English term, meaning that it was applied TO the Native Americans when we came here hundreds of years ago. So while you may have this word association with the Native tribes, the term is far, far older.
