This Vita bundle is insane... (Vita, mem card, AssCreed $179.99 WOW)

These memory cards are such amazing ripoffs. I even checked the Sony Rewards site because I had a bunch of Sony Rewards Points kicking around and nope, not available there. I don't know how Sony thinks they can sell product without a crazy sale like this while also actively and openly trying to fuck customers in the ass. Christ, I can get a 64 GB microSDXC for $50, why the hell is the 32 GB Vita memory card $80?

We are freaking out because it says sold out on the gold box page. This wouldnt be the first time amazon screwed something like this up.
 
I'm on hold with customer service trying to get this figured out for everyone but the first line help never has any clue. Waiting on a manager. I should just cancel and reorder.

I'm just worried I'm buying into a floundering platform. My retina iPad takes out a lot of the allure of the Vita's multimedia functions, and it's difficult to justify purchasing the system on the strength of its forthcoming releases.

But still. At $180 with two games, any bouts of regret I experience are guaranteed to be ephemeral. That's impulse-buy territory.

I cancelled my order, just couldn't justify it. Awesome deal, but I doubt I'll be playing it after the 1st week.

Honestly, this was the biggest part of my resistance to getting a Vita, especially considering that you can assign only one PS Network account per memory card.

Honestly, a $70 dollar discount, 2 games, a memory card, and 3 months of plus is about as awesome a deal as anyone is likely to see on this console for a long while. Given that Plus gets you access to 6 additional games for 3 months, this will keep you busy for a long time.

I don't follow Vita/Handheld releases...

I'm kinda glad I canceled ...


As a handheld I find the Vita to be the prettiest one ever made/released but if I can't get a specific game that'll be crack/heroin for me for a portable then I can't justify purchase.
 
I asked Amazon support, they said the promo didn't show up, so after some talk they said this :

We already know , EDF, Tearaway,Sly, R&C, KZ, Picotto Knights and Soul Sacrifice. Keep in mind the localization record for vita is great so far and most of the games released this year were announced this year.

I wouldn't worry about content too much. Heck I won't be caught up with the games from this year for a good while even.
 
Ordered about five minutes before 3 PM but not too worried about those of us who pulled the trigger early not getting the extras. I never got a PSP so I'm super excited to be playing the games (mainly SRPGS) I missed out on!
 
I ordered immediately when the price changed before the deal went "live" at 12PM for 179 and Amazon CS told me that the gold box promotion did not apply to my order. I had them cancel the initial order and then reordered it on the spot while still in chat with them. All is well now. Good thing they had an abundant amount of stock for this.

Thanks GAF for being super paranoid and checking on this stuff.

Placed my order at 3:01PM. Been holding out for a very long time for the perfect deal on the Vita, and I didn't even need to leave the house and wait in line like a damn fool or wake up at the crack of dawn, or spend Thursday camping out just to get it. Feels real good.

What pushed me over the edge was PS+ coming to the handheld which made it too good to pass up.

Now comes the hard part: Waiting on super saving shipping.

It's really six games if you keep the PS+. And as for it being "floundering," the three best games for the console came out within the past month. Call that what you like.

I think they'll be a lot more ps3- ps vita cross buys little effort and more profit with increased vita sales. and psn games too.

I don't think there'll be that many exclusives but I'm gonna love playing console madden on the go.

They could probably price the Vita itself $50 more and sold the memorycard for about the same price as SD cards. One of the main reasons for why you get a Vita for the current price is because of the memorycard prices.
