This Vita bundle is insane... (Vita, mem card, AssCreed $179.99 WOW)

Digital only is fine with 16 if you manage your data. The only real disadvantage to sixteen is that you won't be able to install everything you own for a trip or whatever. But with sixteen, even all digital you will have plenty of room to have 4ish vita games, more for PSP, and some miscellaneous extras on there.

Cool... looks like I'll take the plunge on the 16. Thanks!

I'm thinking the amount of people who bought this as an additional Vita is fairly high. Not more that first-time buyers, but maybe 20%. That's sort of sad, but at the same time should convey to people just how well the system is liked.

I shouldn't have access to Amazon when I'm busted up. Oh well ... ordered one earlier tonight.

It really is a crazy deal even if I question how much I'll actually use it.

Now that I got this and am thinking of getting a higher capacity card, where can I find a list of games and their sizes? The OT for games (Persona 4 Golden) don't list this information, which I assumed would be important.

Welp, I screwed up.

Noticed after it had shipped that it was shipping to my old university apartment address(didn't realize it was still my default during order frenzy). Had to contact a CSR, they said they couldn't get UPS to change the delivery address, but could tell them to return the order and refund me, so I went with that.

Unfortunately that also means I'm out of the deal as well. Bummer...

I am guessing you no longer live anywhere near that place, as otherwise you could have them hold it at a UPS center near where it was supposed to be delivered. and pick it up from there.

persona is 3.1 GB
i can't find a full list but your best bet would be going to the playstation blog and searching for the game and looking for the store update the game released as they listed the size.

I also think the psn store lists the sizes before you buy but I am not 100% sure on that.

They usually say on the PSN store next to the game's name.

When did this sell out? I was on my phone at 5:10pm PST and saw an AC:L Vita bundle for $179.99, but there wasn't any other information about it (mobile or desktop view), so I couldn't tell if it was the right deal. It was in my shopping cart but got cancelled 5 minutes later when I tried finding out if the downloadable stuff was in the bundle, with the item page saying it was sold out and the price increasing to $299. Did I barely miss out on the actual deal, or was there a different bundle sale going on?

it was around according to my clock the deal died at around 7:12CST which means it died sometime around 5:10-5:15 PST which means unfortunately yes you just missed it.

first confirmed failure to buy was at 5:18pm PST in this thread

Seriously, I asked about this in another thread and honestly couldn't believe that neither Sony nor obsessed Sony fans had assembled a single spreadsheet/list with the sizes of all Vita, PSP and PSX games, considering how important digital is to the uh, Playstation ecosystem.

Seriously Vitabros, Nintendo crazies have a spreadsheet with random ass details of every Club Nintendo point value and you guys can't even muster up something this simple? Live up to your cult rep and get on it! Not all of us have PSN access at all times haha.

It's about an hour's drive away, but it's also a newly-renovated apartment complex. I tried to redirect the shipment to a UPS center in advance but it appears they have to attempt to deliver at least once, and I don't want to risk someone just signing for it and taking it fraudulently--that's way more hassle than just nixing it outright.

about 8-9PM EST. If you saw the bundle for 179.99 then it was still in stock at the time. Right after it sold out it went up to 250+ from other vendors.

Anyone who ordered it for 179.99 today gets all the special extras.

The posters on this forum do not represent more than a tiny fraction of people who purchased this deal. Those who bought replacements or second units are an even smaller minority. You cannot simply take a sample of the posts here, and create a magical percentage with any degree of accuracy.

I still think it's disappointing that this wasn't enough for some gamers. I'm very curious just how many units were available, just for a better idea of the sales impact. If the blasted thing manages to pick up a decent amount of steam, maybe one day I'll be able to play Grand Knights History and Final Fantasy Type 0 on it. Why, that'd be swell.

ah, i suppose that makes sense, UPS doesn't require people sign everywhere.

your best hope for GKH is going to be a steam release, as for type 0 I figure it will be announced next e3 that it's coming to either the ps3 or vita (or both)

You would at least think people would put that info in the OT for games, instead of crappy wallpapers and forum icons.

Thanks for those that at least posted the Persona 4 Golden info. Is it possible to look up these games outside of the Vita store, so that I might be able to look them up before I get my Vita and decide what size card to get?

That really bums me out. I was just worried that it was only for the system, game, and memory card. Should have pulled the trigger when it was in my cart. I was just going to sell the Vita and memory card for maybe $130 and keep all the other stuff since I already have a Vita.

I'll take GKH in any form, I just want to play the damned thing.

Type 0 is the hero that Vita needs.

yeah I am hoping that all of their teasing about a grand announcement if half minute hero on steam sells well enough is true.

and yeah in general I want to play type 0, I figure worse case fans will eventually translate that one though. Given that square seems to want to turn it into a new franchise I can't imagine it won't come over

I wasn't making a scientific guess. I was merely stating my opinion based on the little anecdotal information I have seen both here and elsewhere. I could be totally off. I could have possibly spoken to every multi-Vita owner there is or ever will be. Just sharing my own guess. Relax.

those on standard shipping, your psvita WOW bundle shipped yet?
sony4lyfe.
it is a pity my ps3 died if not i could enjoy ps+! but is ps+/psn still region free?

I have prime shipping and still haven't gotten a shipping confirmation.

beyond that not sure what you mean by region free... almost all ps3 games are region free in general and if you download them you will be able to play them, same with vita games but there are the EU and NA plus (and the japanese one but from what I hear that one is really sad) that vary.

Received shipping notice tonight.

I even picked the "No Rush" promo option. Amazon must really want them out of their warehouses. :P

And I just remembered Earth Defense Force. So that makes three Vita games I want to get next year. Yay!

Can you transfer PSP saves to the Vita? I'd like to continue my PSP2 save game on Vita if at all possible.

Yes, you can transfer PSP saves to Vita. Unfortunately Phantasy Star Portable 2 isn't compatible with Vita. It was removed from the PlayStation Store without reason.

holy crap amazon's game tracker is slow... while the vita didn't jump but a few spots while the sale was going on it's now sitting at number 2 on amazon's top sellers
when the sale ended the vita bundle was sitting a 268th

hitting number two during black friday sales, amazon must have had a ton of these as I figure at $35 assassin's creed 3 was selling quite a few and it ended up behind it in that stretch

I bought one of these bundles due to this thread, so I feel like I should post. I'm not too confident in the Vita, to be honest. I really hated the PSP and regretted buying it, but PS+ for Vita convinced me to give this a chance. My plan for the moment is not to buy any games for this thing at all, and just play what comes up on PS+, downloading them one at a time on that 4GB card. Hope I'm not disappointed.

Hmm, that's interesting, Amazon's sales rankings must be delayed by a few hours. When I checked during the sale, the AC bundle was ranked at #268 in the Video Games category. Not great, but certainly a better ranking than most of the other Vita hardware offerings. When I checked the ranking a few minutes ago, it was at #1/#2 (Seems to have just fallen behind Just Dance 4 when I checked the list itself). Now, considering a simple sanity check (It wouldn't make much sense for it to jump up to #1 hours after the sale is over), it seems that the current rankings represent the hours in which the AC bundle was the DOTD.

Before (From memory):
AC Bundle #268
CODBLOPS2D Bundle #306
All the other Vita hardware choices #600-700

"Now":
AC Bundle #1/#2
CODBLOPS2D Bundle #340
All the other Vita hardware choices #600-700

For it to jump up like that (Even past the PS3/360 BF bundles) and remain in stock for so long, Amazon must've either
A) Started out with a huge amount of stock for this, as AmazonJosh estimated that they would have enough to last a few hours; and/or
B) Showed Sony the high initial interest in the bundle and managed to get a promise for more stock to extend the sale. (I'm going off of what Tony said in the past, that is, if they had an unexpectedly popular PCDD sale, he would have to ask the pub for more keys; I'd imagine that there's something similar for physical products, though with more logistics involved.

Either way, this was a very successful deal for Amazon.

You won't be disappointed. Despite what people say the Vita already has a good library. Make good use of PS+, download some demos and go from there.

Played this at TGS, and thought it was total garbage. To be fair, I haven't played any of the recent console versions, and maybe they just had the demo screwed up, but it wouldn't even allow for aiming via the right stick.

Can you transfer PSP saves to the Vita? I'd like to continue my PSP2 save game on Vita if at all possible.

Yup, that was one of the first things I did when I got my Vita recently. I did an initial sync to my computer, and then from there you can manually copy into your PC sync folder the PSP saves you want to sync in the opposite direction.

That's meth-head prices. These Vitas gotta be hot. I spent my game change on some titles my family made me buy in order to play with them on PSN, but this is really tempting.

Alright so I took the plunge and got one. I'm getting Persona 4 Golden but what are some other games worth getting?

My top Vita games, in no particular order:

1) Uncharted: Golden Abyss
2) LittleBigPlanet Vita
3) Gravity Rush
4) wipEout 2048
5) Sound Shapes
6) Super Stardust HD
7) Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
8) PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale
9) Unit 13
10) Rayman: Origins

I also really like AC3: Lib, and I plan on getting Persona 4, Ragnarok Odyssey, and Zero Escape at some point in the future. Those top 10, though, are the ones I'd recommend to any Vita owner, and 4 of the games on that list are free with PS+ (the bolded ones)

EDIT: Here's my current games load out on my Vita (taken from my post in the Vita PSN Games thread):

The good thing about PS+ on the Vita is that you easily get away with playing just the new free games every month if you aren't that fussy and it's not your primary gaming machine.

I was extremely tempted to get this, but then there aren't too many compelling games out yet and the platform could die within a year or two.

None of the Japanese reviews mentioned that.

I got one at launch but sold it 3 months later because i never used It. I'd buy back in at that price seeing as there are actually dorm games and features worth having now.

I just got a 3DSXL though so I'm not really looking at another handheld just yet.

Haha, things ended up being sorted out after all.

While I forgot I used my old uni address for the order, I also forgot I put automatic address forwarding to anything with my name on it sent there to my proper address.

Contacted Amazon and told them not to take back the order from the shipper or refund me, which was successful.

Might get my Vita package late, but it looks like everything is set once again.

Wow, that's mighty impressive. Hope it helps the system in the end.

Nope. In my experience with the slower shipping options on Amazon is that it takes them a long time to process and ship out the order, sometimes 3 business days, but then when it ships it gets here in about 2 days.

No need to be bitter about it. Those wallpapers and icons are dope. Generally speaking, full Vita games are between 1.2 - 3.1 GB. The games that are for PSP or PSN (like Jet Set Radio) are 100mb - 1GB. You can plan accordingly, although...

As much as it sucks, I'd recommend the 32GB memory card. I have a 16GB but I've already deleted three games that I own to make room for some of the PS+ titles, and I don't have any music or videos on my Vita. The 32GB card will be my only Christmas request. :(
