There are subtle ones, maybe to whiten teeth or improve the lighting in the photo and then there are these: complete physical reconstructions

The changes are dramatic but why the need to portray them with perfect faces? If a celebrity feels comfortable with their appearance to go out into the street, then why not just publish the photo rather than imitating photo-studio quality? The Kiera Knightley one is just terrible. There is no excuse for that

Because companies that have them sell beauty products have a vested interest in them looking damn good for their age. So do the mags that want to sell.

Beyonce's photos have been the subject of scrutiny in the past, with allegations that the artists lightened her skin.

I think the magazines would sell equally as well if the public could see what these heavily beautified figures actually look like.

Both of these look heavily modified, I guess the controversy is they made her darker in one and lighter in the other?

Pretty sure the right one is her "natural" (in quotes since I'm sure she does skin bleaching) skin tone. Left side was modified for Eastern Europeans.

Does only digital airbrush count because this is pretty epic:

I wonder why he decided to make it a "Limited Edition".

Yeah I thought that part was obvious. Oh well another Meus thread asking the tough questions.

lol

Honestly, you'd think celebrities wouldn't want this done to them. I am so used to seeing these photoshopped images that whenever I do see real photos, I think they look terrible. Like Britney Spears on the X-factor. She looked like hell during the auditions but that's just because I wasn't used to seeing her real face and hair. I notice too while watching TV commercials that every person is fake now. There was a JC Penney's commercial that was really colorful and had a lot of kids in it. The kids all had crazy blue or green eyes, the clothes were almost neon, and it all just looked fake. The problem is that we get so used to the unattainable fake look that real people just look like ass.
