Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

Sitting around at my college campus after work... class doesn't start until 5:30 but it's pointless to go home because it's a long drive and I'd only be home for half an hour at the most. Won't be home until 9:30.

My Vita is probably sitting on my porch right now. Hopefully my roommates have brought it in.

I can't wait to play VLR, I've been refreshing myself on 999's story.

Sorry dude, i did get your PM but other people in here asked ages ago so it was only fair to add them first. I'll add you next time i clear some people.

Well, maybe not you. Who are you again?

Carl! Am I on your friend list?

Also, do you think there will be a sequel to mutant blobs? After all it is a sequel itself

I only add people who've platinumed NGS+.
;)

Also, what's this about a NFS Origin sale?
I already own the game, but it can't hurt to check it out unless it's over.

How do you lot feel about story heavy games with voice acting on the Vita?

Because I'm playing VLR right now and as much as I might like that nature of game, I know I could never play it outside my house.

I have no idea if you are or not.

Hm, maybe? I think the DrinkBox guys just wanted to do something different (two Blobs games in a row, they were getting sick of blobs!). I'd imagine they did well so would love to see another sequel.

No one has picked up Maxamillion yet :(

The funny thing is, every single one of those games have been letdowns relative to the hype, save for NSMB. I still need to buy that game actually.
Meh, that's up to the person. I'm just saying as just going by titles for most it seems more impressive. New IPs like Gravity Rush don't have the same failure in a lineup as mario kart, a 2d mario, etc. even if the mario games are disappointing. It's a feeling I know I felt because I had no clue what gravity rush and others were.
If you compare it to Mario, Mario, Mario's brother and Mario, I'm reminded why I haven't turned my 3DS on in a good while.

Sure, for some that's true but there's also plenty who buy nintendo hardware just to get those games.

I think they're fine. When I'm home, I play those and when I'm out, I play more "on-the-go-friendly" games like NFS, Sine Mora or NGS+.

Fair enough, I can imagine them getting burnt out on it.

I feel like they could really expand it in the future, have more physics stuff!

I'd feel bad about adding people especially with the 100 friend limit as I'll mainly just be playing MK, P4G and trying Gravity Rush infrequently (juggling this and clearing my Steam and 360 catalogues) but if anyone wants to add me, it's Beast-Legacy on PSN.

I'd say that's about the 1/4 point. 1/3 if you don't spend a lot of time collecting gems between missions.

Do you need to collect gems or do you usually have enough from missions to get by? I haven't needed to upgrade yet and the missions of making things work only take like 10 shards which is nothing.

Depends. If you plan on doing the 3 optional bosses and getting Gold on the challenges, then you will need to upgrade.

But for the main story itself? You should be largely okay.

Upgrading definitely makes some of the later bosses less of a hastle though. Some of them were bad enough with Kat upgraded.

Can you do the challenges more than once? I thought it disappeared after I sucked on the first one but maybe I was disoriented.

You guys see this? New Vita bundle at Gamestop: http://www.gamestop.com/ps-vita/consoles/playstation-plus-instant-game-collection-playstation-vita-bundle/107056

Comes with 4GB card, Unit 13, and a year subscription to PS Plus. $299. Don't know how I feel. Year sub to Plus is a great idea, but it seems dumb to have all that digital content come with only a 4GB card (especially because Unit 13 is a voucher for a downloadable version).

Obviously. They aren't going to give you a larger one when you'll probably buy one next week after you see all of the content :P

Eh, I'm sure sony wants people to buy new cards so it's not changing anytime soon. That's actually pretty nice considering it's a 3G Vita.

Good idea but 4gb is dumb plus 299? Really? I realise it's a bundle but they need lower prices not higher ones :/

Watch this just be a slip cover for any unsold old 3G units like with PSPgo, lol.

nico nico app needs updating

You know what really needs updating? Games that force you offline. It's annoying having to reconnect to PSN constantly. They should at least give you the option and decide if you wanna preserve your battery life.

This way you also won't pester your friends with countless on/offline messages!

Didn't see the 3G sorry!

Still they need lower prices not bundles.

Like do the same thing but for 249.99

They probably won't for a while, not unless it gets worse. It's much cheaper for them to do bundles than lower the price and it gets games people may have never heard of into their hands to try and build the series. It's the same reason consoles have been doing bundles instead of just straight price drops.

Edit: The bundles are pretty nice value, the only thing that sucks is that it's not at least an 8GB stick. The game downloads are really too big to just use a 4GB, only thing I hate about my bundle so far.

Oh I know, it's just depressing.

Average consumer don't give a shit if it includes a game and a year of plus. They see the $300 price point - the same as a brand new wii u for comparison - and won't buy it

there was a sale on Origin that included the Vita version of NFS Most Wanted this weekend. it ended on Monday
