Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

Actually they did it because people hack savegames on PCs. It's annoying but not really a problem, especially now with PS+.

You have to go into Content Manage to back them up

You have to use content manager to backup to the cloud with PS+? Someone said I don't need to if I have PS+.

You can but it's stupid as fuck, no other system pulls bullshit like this, why would you tie such small data to the game download? They went out of their way to change the way it's been for ages to make it worse instead of better. Thank god I searched about it before I deleted gravity rush or I would have been pissed as all shit.

It's stupid indeed, but I am pretty sure they are doing this as an anti-exploit/hack method.

The auto cloud save doesnt work yet. You can go to the content manager and back up all the savegames within 20 seconds, though. Even if auto uploading worked, I'd probably do it manually. That way you know exactly when you uploaded the savegame.

Can anyone with a UK PSN account tell me if Football Manager Handheld 2013 is on the store and how much it is? I have no Internet at the moment only the 3G on my phone.

Did they release one for Vita after all? I thought they said they wouldn't be doing one this year.

Edit: lol apparently they announced the PSP version last week and it's out now, here are some screenshots

Hey...hey...

I want to pickup a 32GB Memory card...but $90 is too much...what do I do!?

I believe Tiger Direct has them for $70-$80 but they're sold out now. : /

I assumed he was talking of the PSP version (which released yesterday).

Can't even find FM on the UK store.

Nice. Maybe something that can only be seen from the PS3 store? Otherwise it just might go up with the next store update.

Suck it up and buy it if you want it.
I went 32gb for $80 on day 1, just cause I knew I would end up filling it and didn't want to be stuck in a situation where I'm debating about space or spending more money on a bigger card. Yeah, $80 was a bunch, but if you want the device and want the space, you pay the asking price. :|

What if I upgraded to a bigger card later? Do I have to uninstall all my games, first? Or does it not matter as long as the system is registered under my PSN?

You will need to back up the complete memory card to either PS3 or your PC, then you put in the new memcard into your Vita and restore the backup you just made.

You dont need to do anything else.

As Carl found out, it's much easier to back things up individually, so you can pick and choose which games to restore and which saves come with them (if you don't have PS+ before hand). If you have PS+ you can just push all your saves to the cloud (card saves will only push to the cloud if you have the card in the slot), redownload your games on the fresh memory card and then redownload your saves from the ps+ cloud.

But yeah, pretty much, get a new card, back up your old card, insert new card, complete setup, restore backup. (Much like upgrading a PS3 HDD...)

Can I swap out cards as well, like have two games on my 4GB and the rest on my other card, without any problems?

Usually first and third Tuesdays in the US, I think. So I'm expecting a free game to rotate in on 12/4.

I think it screws with your bubble order and such, but yeah, you can do this, I think.

Ya, I'm just disappointed by the ending. The controls hopefully are slightly improved but by the end the controls felt much much less clunky than when I started.

While I also usually get disappointed by such endings with plots left unanswered, it strangely made me happy with this game, being pretty certain that a sequel is worked on because of this. Then you have this guy who is in charge of the game that keeps teasing his next project.

The game deserves a sequel not only to continue with the story but it will surely be more polished and fleshed out as far as gameplay goes.

Really? This bothered me more than most because
it felt like nothing was accomplished. You had all that time playing and you understand nothing better and it just ends, it made the whole story feel pointless. At least with most cliffhangers you solve some of the puzzle and have to wait for the rest where as this game did absolutely nothing and at the end you fought stuff but there was pretty much no story progression from the beginning to the end. It's so light on story I think you could completely skip this game and lose nothing storywise going into the sequel. Very unrewarding ending.

The Vita is becoming what it was meant to become. More support in the future, this thing will be unstoppable and I will smile because I am a Vita O.G (early adopter) :)

Depends on how much you put on it. You could probably fill 3/4 of it or more just on the free PS+ games out right now.

At least 1/2.
I put up some totals minus Uncharted the other day and it was like 6-7gb without Uncharted.

Wipeout w/ DLC 2374mb
Gravity Rush 1460mb
FFT 195mb
JSR 1107mb

I think Uncharted is over 3gb and MBA is probably in the 500mb range?

suck it up or buy a 16GB like me. pretty happy with it.

Isn't the difference between the 2 like $25? At least it was when I bought mine... it was like $55 vs $80. For another $25, I was more than happy to pay the difference. ($55 for the first 16gb, $25 for the second?

Hey Vitabros, show me your bets for VGA Vita reveals!

If hacking savegames or piracy was the reason the 32 gb card wouldn't be 300% the price of a regular micro sd card of that size.

It was a money grab since they knew hardcore fans would buy the big cards and anyone else was still forced to buy the insanely overpriced smaller ones.

Ah, ok. I thought gravity rush was closer to ~2.4gb but ya, there's at least 8gb or so with just PS+ stuff.

Did you do this optional mission with 2 couples?
You get told a lot of background information about Kat's origin and what kind of person she was in her previous life. The game has quite a few of those optional moments where they clear things up a little if you piece things together with what's happening in the main plot. I felt that as a first game, the story was accomplished in the sense that it introduced the lore very well by making you familiar with the world, characters, gods etc. and while telling you a bit about what's going to happen in the next game. They told you about the new threat that is coming from beneath the town and how those kids will wake up from their sleep one day, destined to do something in the sequel.
I hope they will continue the story with what they started on and not skip it. Then it would be bad. I was still left satisfied with the story, the ending was pretty happy. You feel like you achieved your objective, as far as saving towns and bringing them back to how they originally were while you know there is something more sinister waiting for you.

I played some hours Gravity Rush and right now it's my GOTY (not just Vita GOTY) and best new portable IP of the generation.

I haven't played a Vita only game that was incredible, Rayman and MK were ports.

I haven't played through Kid Icarus yet either, but when you put it like that you just raise my expectations. That might not be good, but who knows.

I didn't, was that part of the DLC? I thought I did all optional missions in the game since I went to each area and did each bubble that wasn't a challenge thing.
