Do you guys ever read IMDB trivia? Well you should. Here are some (in addition to the one about Biel Dawsonscry.gif) that stuck out to me:

Cinematographer Wally Pfister expressed interest in shooting the entirety of the film in the IMAX format, as both Pfister and Christopher Nolan expressed distaste for shooting the film in 3-D. Ultimately, the film would feature approximately 72 minutes of IMAX footage, while the rest was shot in a combination of 35mm and 70mm, as IMAX cameras proved to be too noisy for shooting the films dialogue scenes.

Really glad they made that call. That camera seems like a giant encumbrance for the most part. It seems to be why all the shots during the chase in TDK were so damn flat.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling and Mark Ruffalo were considered to play John Blake before Joseph Gordon-Levitt was ultimately cast. DiCaprio was one of the actors considered to play Robin in Batman Forever before Chris O'Donnell got the part.

Not gonna lie. Curious to see what Gosling would've done with the role (loved JGL but still).

According to Christopher Nolan, Bane was chosen as the film's main antagonist "to test Batman mentally as well as physically."

Sort of missed the mark on the "mentally" part.

To prepare for her role as Catwoman, Anne Hathaway worked out five days a week on a regime that involved vigorous exercise, stunt training and dancing. She called it her most physically demanding role to date.

The original story treatment by David S. Goyer was to have Two-Face as the principal antagonist for the film. Initially, at the end of The Dark Knight, the Joker would have scarred Harvey Dent at a courtroom trial, setting up the third film. Dent's death and fall was put in at the end of the second film instead to set up the aftermath that follows.

I feel like I would've hated this.

Out of respect for Heath Ledger, the Joker is never once mentioned for the whole film.

When Commissioner Gordon talks about "giant alligators" being in the sewer line, this may be an intentional nod towards Batman villain Killer Croc.

According to costume designer Lindy Hemming, she took two years to design Bane's coat; it was inspired by a Swedish army jacket and a French Revolution frock coat, to make Bane look equally dictatorial and revolutionary, "like an amalgam of all sorts of bits and pieces he cobbled together as he passed through some very remote places."

Selina Kyle's catsuit was made from two layers of polyurethane-coated spandex.

And one layer of super boring and a thin layer of uninteresting.

While doing promotional interviews for the film Tom Hardy stated that the most difficult parts of the movie to shoot were the fight scenes. Not because of the physicality of them, but because he was such a huge Batman fan growing up that he said "it felt like I was beating up my childhood hero". However he also said that despite his worship of the character, the moment Chris Nolan yelled 'action' Hardy just started throwing punches as hard as he could.

Isn't kind of great how you can grow up being so amazed by something then start down a path that will require you to utterly destroy it later on in life?

The final chase sequence and subsequent bombing where countdown of the time-bomb is 12 minutes is depicted as though in real time.

Very nice touch. Irks the hell out of me when that doesn't happen.

I was thinking what I liked the most about the movie and it's mostly scenes with catwoman in them. To me she was the best character or at least the most interesting one.

Are these all verified? I thought some of it was denied. Especially the rumors about Leo being considered for any role or the idea of the third movie about Dent.

When Alfred cried at the end, I couldn't hold back the tears.

At the end it didn't move me but the scene where he leaves Bruce. Oh man I had to control it.

There is no music in the background and Caine nails the emotion in that scene. You almost get the feeling he just wants to say "YOU ARE MY SON!"

I dunno, I felt the emotion in that scene but for some reason I connected more with him when he felt sorrow at the end. Guy really thought Bruce died and felt awful for letting Bruce spiral the way he did. It made Bruce reappearing later that much more awesome.

Doing the tie in now to the Nolan movies would be obviously forced and something the director never wanted.

Batman is bigger than Nolan. Just like the Joker was bigger than Nicholson and even Heath. Batman will live on and they can't keep holding on to what Nolan created. At best they can learn from it and takeaway the fact that people will continue to pay good money to see Batman movies so long as the people behind them actually care for the character and the source material.

And since there is a chance of Bat fatigue if they just start another series right away, the best way to introduce a new Batman would be through the JL movie first before his own set of solo movies.

I don't think they'll let go of the Nolan Bats too easily. Like you said, Batman is bigger than Nolan, and ultimately it isn't up to Nolan what happens to his universe. It's up to WB.
