Many thanks.

Masked dudes reminded me a bit of the Crystalline Set, but its description says nothing of relevance...

I hope it is still a connected world like Dark Souls rather than the different stages that were in Demons Souls. I loved seeing how all the different areas were connected to each other and it really helped the sense of exploration.

Fuck yes! Just saw the news on Twitter.

Awesome news and totally unexpected, honestly.

Even more unexpected that it got announced at such a mainstream event like the VGAs. Hard to believe that Dark Souls penetrated that audience.

Anyway, very happy right now!

We're not. It's not hard to see why so many people were thrown off.

I just dont want the series compromised, and we've seen too many dear IPs this gen succumb to that

Considering that they just released new content for Dark Souls less than 6 months ago, that was just as awesome as the rest of the game, I have 100% faith.

Nintendo has been getting buddy buddy with lots of Japanese devs. Wouldn't put it past them.

Yep. Everything from Team Ninja publishing deals to Platinum exclusives to Namco Bandai working on Super Smash Bros. 4.

Not to mention exclusive Monster Hunters and exclusive Dragon Quests from Capcom and Square-Enix.

But that's obvious...Nintendo is a completely Japanese-led company. NOA and NOE are little more than puppets.

The video is gone from youtube. Is there a mirror somewhere?

I'll check back in a few minutes after I wipe all this stuff of my face.

I wouldn't care if it was Wii U exclusive, I go where the game goes. Of course, in the scenario that it would not be changed because of the platform.

I can't be the only one fully confident in whatever From will do? The Abyss content was some of the best work they've done on Souls series. Nothing but positivity looking forward.

I suppose it depends on what branch of From we're talking about. The whole company seems really efficient. But aside from the Souls games, they churn out a lot of crap these days like Armored Core, Ninja Blade and recent Tenchu.

How big would the meltdown be if this was Wii U exclusive?

Hardy har har

In all seriousness, with Namco's blessing and financial backing, this needs to land on as many platforms as humanly possible (within technical reason, of course).

This series is a true love letter to gamers, and shouldn't be missed by ANYONE. I think regardless of trailer vibes, we can all agree on this, no?

Is it me, or does the guy at 45 seconds into it look like Hawkeye Gough? It's so dark it's hard to see, but it looks like a giant, right?

They've slowed down a lot in recent years, at least compared to before. Also, recent Armored Core games aren't really any better or worse than the old ones, they're just very niche oriented and set in their ways.

They focus on Anor Londo in the distance in the trailer. I don't know how much more Dark Souls it needs to be than that.

Unless the view from the back is radically different, I dunno if I'd jump to say that's Anor Londo with all the craggy misty mountains around it. The Sun would also seem to be in the wrong position too given where the tower bridge is.

But yeah, artsy-CGI. That is the point though, it looks a bit different than what we've seen before. Also gotta realize this thing popped up at the mother of all mainstream-blockbuster-mountain-dew events. Which is a little eye-catching. Nothing wrong with pondering until we have more info.

I'm wondering what route they'll go regarding co op and PvP. Will the expand on the arena mode from the doc expansion? Will you be able to group and talk with friends? Will they use Steam works if it is a PC titles.

Go Dragon Dogma route did for hiring party members. Put summoning in a special zone that matches canon but allows it to be easier.

Maybe it takes place really far into the future or past, so much so that the landscape is drastically different.

Fingers crossed they've taken the feedback from the community to heart and deliver a solid PC version this time without Durante having to step in.

Wouldn't surprise me if the DLC was actually in some ways a test for Dark Souls II to see how an arena system could work, so I see them expanding on it and making it better.

FROM is a hit and miss company.

they make a lot of shit games, but then they make fuck-awesome niche games.

it's a weird balance. thats why they havent really been in the spotlight despite being so old a company.

they gave us tenchu and chromehounds and armored core the souls games, but then they have things like evergrace and eternal ring

I want covenants that act kind of like a combination of online game servers and oaths in NetHack. One could prevent you from being invaded, but lower your stats and lock off certain areas of the game. One would increase your chance of being an invasion target, but increase item drop rate. Stuff like that.

FROm is remarkably consistent. Demon's and Dark Souls have all the same design principles, just a little extra polish.

Assuming there even is one.

We have any comments from Namco in regards to digital sales performance?

Edit: mesmerMan, don't forget Otogi!

Yet... *mysterious music* I wouldn't put it past From to patch the game to have that as a tie-in

If they give an option for invasions/PvP to be turned off and/or kept to arenas, the game will improve 10 fold for me. I know a lot of people will probably ugh me, but invasions aren't really for me and I rather have a co-op session without having to worry about some dickface coming in right before we reach a the boss door to back stab me. Maybe on a second playthrough where I can't care, but definitely not the first. Having the option to turn it off/on would be nice.
