I'm ok with it not coming to Wii U.. That controller is too expensive to just throw it against the wall. Anyways, just fired up Dark Souls on PC for the first time in about a month. CANNOT WAIT for this sequel.

When I get mad I twist controllers. Id love to shear the controller to pieces through dynamic torsion loading.

If they thought Dark Souls PC already made enough money to greenlight the sequel... wait until they see how much more they make during the winter sale with a sequel announcement out there.

Dosh

Holy. Shit. The Souls series is far and ahead the best thing this console generation has come up with and this unexpected announcement took me by HUGE surprise. Can't wait to play thr PC version day -1.

Agreed, I was blown away with dark souls. I don't even know what to expect with dark souls 2, How do you perfect that which has been perfected?

Whoops, I also just realized that you can actually see the knight's eye in the trailer, while in Dark Souls you had just empty eye sockets in hollow form.

Hmm.

Easy. remove all the crap stages and the game WOULD be perfect. Dark souls and demons souls were just to hit and miss with the level design. For every 2 great stages theres a bad one you just cant sit through again (Blight Town, Depths, Lost Izalith, the big stupid tree etc)

That's the only negative with dark souls for me, some shitty stage design in amongst a truly fantastic game.

Cant wait for this though - the trailer looked pretty bad ass. I wonder what new classes etc they will bring to this.

Lost Izalith I agree but Blight Town was great and the Depths were alright at worst.

Blight Town, the quick little swamp between Firelink and Quelaag? Depths and Great Hollow, the completely optional areas?

Biggest problem with Dark Souls is there was too much open real estate. Anor Londo was practically empty, they should have had some BPs in there or something.

But yeah, day one.

Umbasa.

Hey i loved the game, and even if they were optional they werent greatly designed. And if its in dark souls, optional or not, im going to play it.

For me i LOVED Anor Londo, Dukes Archives, Sens Fortress and the first few hours of the game. It only got a bit hit and miss in the last half. (once you hit blight town i believe) - replaying that the 2nd time through was terrible.

Im just hoping this game is a bit more consistent because the same problem plagued demons souls.

None of those areas you mentioned were bad in my mind, other than the nightmare of Blighttown due to the frame rate. I appreciated the variety.

My favorite area in the whole game was Demon Ruins, which everybody seems to hate. Seeing that huge pit with those baddies just standing there waiting for you was a great change of pace from the rest of the game.

Eh, I agree. They can be boring but the game is so much fun that I don't really focus on level design, I am just way to busy staying alive!

Blight town was just poor coding, I am not even going to defend Lost Izalith, the tree was a tad long but it wasn't bad and the Depths were great and perhaps one of the most tense parts of the game.

The Depths had the curse frogs and rats around every corner so it kept you on your toes. Capra Demon and the Depths are perhaps the first hill you have to overcome as a newbie to test your meddle.

I think there should be a bare minimum of quality on all dungeons, yeah, but I really like from both Demon's and Dark is that sometimes you reach a high point in the game (be it visually or through level design) that is just great in contrast to the less impressive spots of the game, so consistency isn't really the word, but sure, I'd like throwaway places like The Great Hollow or Lost Izalith to have more depth and better design, sure, but the experience should be rocky and surprise you constantly with unexpected twists and turns.

Must be a prequel. All of the dragons were killed right?
Dragon looks a hell of a lot like Kalameet (the third eye), one of the last living dragon, by the time of the DLC, not the main game. So yeah, if that dragon's Kalameet, it's a prequel, though maybe not as distant as you think.

Well, that's a matter of taste. I liked Blighttown and Depths, though the tree was pretty BS.

I wonder which ending is canon. Or if it is even chronologically after the first game.

PC version being day one means I'll have to buy it day one.

Agreed.

Amazing! Time to finish the first one.
Game of the year 2013 already announced.
please be released soon

Well

Demon Souls - 2009
Dark Souls - 2011
Dark Souls: PC - 2012
Dark Souls II: Are You Not Entertained? Edition - 2013

We will have to see, 2 year development time seems to be their schedule. If you notice they reused a bunch of sounds, animations, and textures from Demon Souls in Dark Souls. It remains to be seen whether this is using an all new engine, meaning new assets, or the same engine.

I would take Dark Souls 2 a year later if it released on next gen consoles and PC with an optimized engine and high quality assets.

Great trailer and awesome music. Won't overhype it though, unless the trailer graphics Are game graphics.

I hope the Souls series do not become one of those milked series though. I woudn't mind if they waited a bit morefor this release.

I just woke up here in Euroland, and this is what I see.

Praise the fucking sun! I'm almost shaking with excitement for this game.

No fanks. Unlike the shooters that are pretty much all the same these games are actually different and fun I wouldn't have a problem with bi annual releases

YES! They should release a new game every yeaaaar! every god damn yeaaaar and day one day two day three DLC maps till the next release! They should work 24/7! mwahahah!

Don't forget about the Gaping Dragon, Priscilla, Seath, plus the poisonous dragon you find in Valley of the Drakes.

There's a bunch of them.

There are two Undead Dragons; the one in Valley of the Drakes and another in the Painted World of Ariamis.

If I wanted to get into this series do I start with Demon Souls or Dark Souls?

I would start with Demon's Souls so you can see how the series has progressed.
