Do you mean: beside how unpopular, uncomfortable and generally unreliable it is?Has there been a single issue with GFWL with the Dark Souls PC port?
Indeed. It's a third person game, and a Field of View slider for this game doesn't really make sense anyway.
Neither do I, it would be a good thing to bring the game up to graphical standards of PC gamers though. But I'm perhaps misunderstanding what really counts for the majority of the PC audience.DX11 bells and whistles are by no means essential either. If it's there cool, but it's not something I expect at all.
This looks like a souls gameThe quote in the Edge thread about the new director wanting to make the game more accessible and have a 'presence like The Elder Scrolls' is really worrying. Sounds like they are dumbing it down to get more sales (I assume presence means popularity/sales here). That also explains why the trailer looks like Skyrim Souls and not like Dark Souls.
If this is true, they're killing exactly what made the games so popular in the first place.
Another franchise down the drain...

That's not Dante
Will Duracell have to fix the PC version again?
GAF - PC or PS3 version?
That's encouraging. Ended up reluctantly skipping the first one because of online (no PS3, won't pay for Xbox Live, and tragically unsecured PC version).

Note: the PS3 will likely look a bit better if you play it on a TV thanks to your TV's scaler.

Duh.It's like night and day

PC gamers making a big deal out of insignificant disparities.
How typical.
I mean, sub-HD vs full HD, where's the difference ?

Old school gameplay.
Can't tell if serious?

I played the game for 100+ hours on PC and met no hackers. I'd assume the majority of hackers left soon after release considering how boring the game would be without any challenge (and it being a primarily single player game with occasional mp interactions). That's encouraging. Ended up reluctantly skipping the first one because of online (no PS3, won't pay for Xbox Live, and tragically unsecured PC version).
No seriously, people that PvP on PC version are fucking terrible. It's land of the free. I'll get both versions for this reason alone.

I've been lucky in that I actually haven't encountered any hackers on the PC, though I've only PvPed with maybe 5-6 people. People on the PC have actually been really friendly...for most of the duels they sent me a friendly GFWL message afterwards.
The main issue with PC is not the hackers, it's the constant failed connections.
The difference is about the same as when I remove my glasses.
Well the thread had a good run before boiling down to PC vs Consoles again. Good job.
It's not a great comparison shot. This is better:

Second one looks too sharp and angular. Too much detail is distracting. I like the blurred and filmic quality that consoles give me at sub 30fps.
If I'm reading the other thread correctly, then I think the "presence like the Elder Scrolls" line is from the journalist, not anyone affiliated with the game.
Cool. I'm still waiting on news of a patch for the pc version that fixes the graphics and sound.
You are right, besides the blurryness adds an artistic touch to the game and strengthens the atmosphere.
But if smeared Vaseline on my computer screen could I achieve the same effect?

From didn't mention Skyrim. Edge mentioned Skyrim.

I'm a little torn on the issue. I love the difficulty the exploration, but yeah, I do think World Tendency and covenants (and online play, for that matter) should be better explained to the player. For me, the important points are difficulty and combat mechanics. As long as those don't disappoint, I don't think there's really anything wrong with explaining (not necessarily simplifying) how the more obscure aspects of the game work.
Maybe wrap it a few times in saran wrap while you're at it.
But yeah World Tendency should have been better explained, but the system was horrible anyway, I'm glad they ditched that.
