You can make an exceptionally boring movie out of answering all of these questions, or you can just answer them yourself. No one's stopping you from doing either, dude.

Fill a movie with shit that makes zero sense = exciting. OhhhhKayyyyy

Next up on my list of shit I don't understand but sincerely hope someone can explain to me: What happened to batman's no kill rule?

Remember when his traitor girlfriend was hauling ass in that truck and batman was chasing her in his flying nacho tray? That dude was not only pumping serious led into her ride, but was even shooting missiles. How can a man with a no kill policy fire rocket propelled explosives at a person and just hope they don't die? And that's exactly what happens. She drives into an open divide on the highway and plummets to her death as a direct result of Batman's actions.

He killed the truck driver, that's why Talia takes the wheel. Or maybe his .50 caliber machinegun rendered the driver unconcious.

I was half joking awhile back when I said Nolan didn't direct. But I'm seriously thinking something happened with WB and was forced to make changes he didn't want. The whole flying away with the bomb thing is so anticlimactic and lame I can't help but think he'd intended on Batman dying and WB said no.

I mean the whole movie was driving towards that, especially with that line from Catwoman when she said "you dont owe these people anything, you've given them everything" and he responds "not yet I havent".

Having Batman die at the hands of Bane which then motivates Gotham's citizens (who by the way now know Batman was a hero thanks to Bane's speech) to rise up and purge their city of evil would have been more satisfying. That was Batman's ultimate goal after all, not to just beat the bad guys but for Gotham to stand up for itself and not need a Batman in the first place.

I think Nolan always intended for Bruce to fake his death in order to have a sense of normalcy return to his life while Batman lived on. Nolan has said that when he first started the trilogy he always knew how he wanted Bruce's story to end. In making the trilogy he just had to fill in the details.

LOL now we got people saying something must have happened and Nolan didn't actually direct the movie.

Man, those reports of execs crying man tears at early screenings seem like a long time ago now.

Yeah its tough for me to wrap my mind around why this movie is so awful. Fuck it, I guess you can't win them all.

I heard Scorsese didn't direct Taxi Driver. He was too busy blasting through hookers and blow, so Joe Pesci directed it.

I read a rumor that Scorsese used to be a real square pill, so he took coke and it became lodged in his nasal cavity and has never been able to shake it since. That's why he talks really fast and cast Sharon Stone in Casino.

Coppola actually left directing duties to young Sofia, and Lost In Translation is actually a metaphor for the lack of recognition she got when her dad picked up all dem oscars

I can't believe Coppola is returning to studio features now. On one hand I can't wait, but on the other hand I'm really scared he's going to ruin the ending to Jack by returning to the well.

There was a rope there when Bruce got out. Has there really not been anyone near to throw it down since Bane got out?

There's some guards spread out through town and the area is considered cursed by the locals. Bruce got out, threw the rope down, and then KILLED EVERYONE IN THE VILLAGE.

I think it comes down to Batman just being kinda dumb.

Dude has a utility belt full of shit like bat-darts and he decides to throw powder bombs at Bane. :lol

Because he blew up a whole temple of ninjas in Begins and has no problem with Selina murdering Bane in cold blood right before his eyes.

You got me on the ninjas. As for Selina, that was completely out of his hands. Not only did he not know she was there, he was bound by ropes.

Please enlighten me why Batman killing people isn't an issue. Its sort of central to his character.
Were you talking about when they fired heat-seeking missiles at Batman that followed him everywhere, causing him to maneuver around and lead it right back to them? If they died as a result, technically they killed themselves.

But anyway, Batman uses deadly weapons/methods all the time. He just finds ways to use them to disable bad guys instead of killing them -- most of the time it's pure skill, sometimes he just gets lucky. Happens in every form of Batman media.

these are the same people who i gurantee you can go back to a dark knight or batman begins thread and they'll say those movies were ass too.

I have no problem with people dying as a combination of his actions and their own stupidty. I took it more to mean killing as a punishment or a means to make his or others lives easier. Like in BB when he refuses to decapitate the criminal and instead have him tried. Of course theres going to be collateral damge when hes trying to stop a nuclear bomb detonation or he's a escaping a burning house full of psycopaths. But its not cold-blooded murder.

Then you haven't read any of my posts. I'm in shock Rises was so terrible because of how much I enjoyed the first two films.

But by all means, check my post history to back up your "guarantee"

I'm surprised that some posters are defending this rather ardently as if it's an untouchable work of genius. Do y'all ever watch good films? I don't see how the criticisms raised against this one are nitpicky or reaching. They are really significant issues.

Do you watch comic book films? Any one of them will have the kinds of "really significant issues" (lol) that people are bringing up in this thread.

So how about that Starship Troopers movie. Denise Richards sure is something. She laughed at her boyfriend when he was humiliated in front of everybody with his shitty test scores.
Poor Rico.

He ended up in Rome not getting everyone else's memo on what cafe to meet at.

i googled it and someone on yahoo answers says that his vest is super strong and in the comics he was pretty much indestructible. so i'm thinking the vest blocked the rocket because you didnt see him explode, he just got pushed back really hard. so bane is alive guys

You could also make an exceptional movie by making sure they were not questions that needed answers.

They...don't? Pretty sure you can chalk it up to being a League of Shaodws ran prison. But I've pushed that thought aside at the moment, I'm writing the script on how they constructed the Batcave and all the bat gadgets without the secret of Bruce Wayne getting out to anyone. I am a joyless person and suspension of disbelief is not a thing that exists in my reality, so please forgive me if I don't have time to answer all of your questions post-haste.

Anybody else read the first draft of the script where Flass is the one feeding the prisoners in the pit? Dudes were getting mighty sick of felaful.

I know right, why do they even bother showing Batman escape? lol who cares?

Bruce Wayne's story is intricately tied to how they got TVs into an underground prison, you're right, I forgot he played The Cable Guy in this movie and not Batman.
