-_- that better not be a Lil B reference, don't taint Dark Souls with his name.
Lil B would be PERFECT for a Dark Souls II theme.

I don't know if it's up to the developer, or just lazyness, but you can actually stop screenshots from being posted in Miiverse (DSII being one of those). I could definitely see FromSoftware disabling that, possibly. Anyway, FS is evil enough to maybe do that, but I don't know if Nintendo would allow that (interesting to wonder).
Anyway, no point in speculating until we even get a whiff that this is coming to WiiU. It'd be a great addition, though. Sorry if I came off like a dick. Finals got me on edge.

Nah it's a moot point either way. It ain't comin to WiiU lol.
Slightly off topic. is there a shortcut to get to anor londo??

Slightly offtopic, whats a good noob build for both of the Souls games?
Just read their respective threads, lol. They're both insanely active.
....for DS I'd do a STR build until you can equip the Purp Flame Shield.. for Dk just grab the Drake Sword as a Pyromancer and enjoy ezmode.
There are active OTs for these games? My bad.
So just put all my souls into STR?
Counterintuitively, the level 1 classes are the best classes to start with. Royal gets magic and MP regen in the first came, Pyro gets fireball a long time before anyone else gets access to any pyromancy at all (and fire is awesome).Slightly offtopic, whats a good noob build for both of the Souls games?
They're in the community sections since they'd be on the front page every day if they kept them in the main gaming section. Also my Demon's knowledge is from release days..I'm sure strats have changed insanely since I last played. All I know is back then the PFS was the bee's knees. Totally off the top of my head, but I think something like 22 str was all you needed to handle most good shit. Any more was for the really big stuff. I personally went a dex build and had zero issue with the game as an archer the entire run.

Magic and any other kind of ranged attack is usually pretty good if you're new.
Thanks for the tips and sorry about me being off topic.
Royal and Pyromancer it is. Then put all points into STR until 22.
My favorite parts of Souls games:
1. Exploring new areas
2. Discovering new stories behind minimalist dialogue
3. YOU DEFEATED
No better feeling in the world.
If you're going a Royal in DS don't do STR lol.. just do a Mag/Faith build then and toss Soul Arrows at everything. Actually it doesn't even matter if you wanna be a STR based Royal wielding swords and shields then go for it haha.
Magic builds are valid? Why do people always say mages suck?
My issue is that I don't want to get far in the game and realize I gimped myself and have to start over.

Really?
I cleared the game as a mage (More of a battle mage as opposed to a pure mage but still mage nonetheless) several times with little to no trouble.
Imo playing as a mage almost breaks some of the bosses.

I enjoyed Dark Souls the most as a mage. By far. I didn't really like it in Demon's Souls because of the MP system, but the magic charge system combined with the bonfires makes it pretty much perfect in Dark Souls. It begins...
I had a dream about this game today...
Firestorm especially will 1-2 shot most bosses by the time you're in NG+. Pretty much how I cleared everything in ++ and on.
Who says that? Where are you even reading if not the OTs? Magic is insanely overpowered in the Soul games, though moreso for pvp usually. It just takes a lot of points before you can wield stuff freely rather than having 1 or 2 casts and being done. Royals were def considered an easy starter back then because there was an mp regen ring you got early on that helped. A knight can also help you learn the combat/dodging/rolling mechanics quickly, though I remember people not even realizing their rolls were burdened by the armor. They didn't know if they took the armor off they could run/roll faster. Man, those were the days..
You can't really gimp yourself. Eventually you get to a point in the game where you can easily farm and allocate points to wherever you want. You can build your stats to be equal essentially. Though for the first 40-60 levels or so you'll def be stuck in your "main" build, so just play what you want. Melee, magic, or a mix. Just don't put points in Luck in Demon's..

Magic is viable in both games. The key to not gimping yourself is deciding fairly early in the game which stat you want to be your main damage scaler. In other words, don't put twenty points into STR if you're going to be using DEX weapons and light armor/shields. In Demon's Souls, don't ever put points in Luck. In Dark Souls, don't ever put points in RES. You'll still be able to beat the game with hybrid builds, so by all means feel free to experiment. It's just a bit faster/easier to beat the game with, say, 40 DEX and very good Dex-scaling weapons than 20 STR, 20 DEX, 20 FAITH, 20 INT.
Also, in spite of what was said earlier, many players will advise you not to use the Drake Sword in Dark Souls. While the Drake Sword is very powerful for that point in the game and can make your life a lot easier, some people feel it's better in the long-run to use the early-game to really learn the combat system and familiarize yourself with weapon upgrades -- something you won't do if you're insta-killing everything with the Drake Sword. Plus there are other good weapons available early in the game. They don't start as overpowered as Drake, but unlike the Drake they can be upgraded to work throughout the game.
Pretty sure you find a magic based sword or scimitar in 3-1? 4-1? some shit.. actually 3-1 had a bunch of mage crap. Just play the game heh.

Not day going to day one this game like I did with Dark Souls. Disappointing sequel for me. I'll wait and see.
So until I decide/get the weapons I want to do should I put points in VIT? Health seems important.
A Crecent Falcion in 4-1? After I finish 1-1 and kill Phalanx again I should go there first.
You mean the Enchanted Falchion?
True, the only boss i had an issue with was Lord Gywn himself. Which was strange because the DLC bosses who i faced first before completing the game imo hit harder but overall felt much easier. S&O also caused me some problems initially but nothing compared to Lord Gwyn.
Speaking of DLC bosses, what are the odds of Artorias showing up in this. He was an awesome boss (Easily my favorite fight of all).
It's been a while, remind me what one might think was disappointing going from D to Dk?
Online
Item progression
PVP
Every boss
Covenants
Granted I only played 25 hours, I feel like everything I listed was executed very poorly. The only thing I will give credit to dark souls for is the open exploration aspect and having some weird kidnapping bonfire chick side plot (which I didn't play long enough to see the conclusion). The games got some mystery to it, but i just hate playing it.
Sounds like you.. disliked the entire game haha. But you liked Demon's version of all those things more, eh?
There is exactly one reason to put points in Luck in Demon's Souls, but that is a very specific build that precludes doing any other builds, and even then you'd probably get more mileage out of putting those points into Magic. You can't really gimp yourself. Very much so. Covenants backfired. They tried to make this faction system, but ultimately none of it matters in the end. The rewards suck, and itt just splits up the online. Why is their a covenant to increase your chance to play online with other people in the same covenant? Dumb.

Kinda off topic but I need help killing that Moth Boss in the forest. I'm level 23 knight and I'm not doing enough damage. Should I grind more?
You didnt use the summon downstairs? I think it was downstairs. Since if I remember correctly it was a witch or something who burned that fucker to the ground in no time.
