After a couple issues of Action I thought Morrison was losing it too, but after the rest of the issues of Action I think Morrison's got it, but then after the 2 issues of Happy I think he may have lost it again. It's fucking Grant Morrison, that's just the way he rolls.

I like Happy... :(

It's a funny premise that I was clueless to going into, which helped make the first issue good but all the dialog is really bad and comically vulgar and the 2nd issue was meaningless, meandering on the poker game. It could still turn around in 3 and 4 but so far I'm not digging it. Art's rad though.

Just blazed through vol 2 and half of vol 3 of American Vampire. I can't believe how compelling it is. It looks like the first mini (survival of the fittest) is collected within vol 3. When chronologically should I read the other mini (Lord of Nightmares?).

Lord of Nightmares happens concurrently with the most recent arc Blacklist.

Read the
Worlds' Finest
solit and extrapolate. Unless you've not been reading the last two issues of it, in which case you won't get it.

It's a done deal.

So joker kills 2 Robins, 1 of them being Bruce's son. What's going to be the outcome of this, Bruce finally snapping and killing the Joker?

Gail Simone is off Batgirl, she just confirmed it on twitter.

This actually makes me sad, I didn't know Batgirl was so disliked of a book here. I've actually been enjoying Simone's run on it.

If
damian
dies it will be in
batman inc.
they have to kill someone for death in the family and it makes sense for
batgirl to die because they told gail she's off the book which could be an indicator its going on hiatus plus it says huntress hears about a tragedy that impacts her. Huntress used to be batgirl so that would make sense

In NU52 Huntress was never batgirl, she was Robin in her universe. At least as NU52 goes Huntress has no connection to Batgirl. How ever she used to be Robin, and for the past 2 issues and going forward a few more she is teaming up with Damian to figure out whose stealing money from Bruce Wayne. So it being Batgirl makes no sense with the solicits. It being Damian however totally does.

For most of the five years from summer 2006 to summer 2011, he was. Since the New 52, that position has definitely been taken over by Snyder.

Thank god too. Snyder's handling of the character has been way more enjoyable to me than Morrison's.

I rather like Damian, so I'd be happier with Babs dying or at least Batgirl dying and Babs having to go into hiding or something.

But them killing Damian would make more sense...they don't want people having nice things.

Secret Warriors 99 cent sale damn it's like they're readin my mind

That's a damn good series. Not quite as good as Hickman's Fantastic Four run, but still very solid. There's a small tie-in with Siege in the middle, but they never had it cross over in a huge way, thankfully.

Also, for those interested, the first volume of Runaways is ALSO on sale today. If you've never read it, it's great.

#DEAD

I'm looking at this again and the lack of recoil on this sniper shot is starting to piss me off. God Walking Dead is some ghetto ass shit.

Morrison Batman Inc is the only DC I read, other than the current Joker arc out of morbid "so, Bats is gonna have to kill him this time right?" curiosity.

Before this, Dick-Bats and Damien Robin was some damn good comics fun. So it would stand to reason DC is systematically killing off absolutely any aspect of their line I enjoyed. Maybe Marvel can trade off Greg Land to them or something, make it a done deal.

Anything said is speculation based on the end of certain books and solicits. Nothing concrete, but certainly plausible.

Oh. It was tagged earlier.

Anyway, if that happens, Batman Inc is gonna be mighty weird for a few months. So many "This Issue Takes Place Before..." editorial notes, continuity bloggers are gonna be stroking out everywhere.

It's not like any of the other Batbooks acknowledge Inc exists (and vice versa).

Snyder was recently on Kevin Smith's Batman podcast where he said he basically treats his Batman as if it's the old continuity unless some other writer decides otherwise. Thanks Scott Lobdell!

Sounds easier than trying to figure out what's in and what isn't.

ebay shenanigans:

ASM 693-698 sold for $22.59 at auction
Ultimate Ultimates Ultimates 13-18 failed to sell

Finished Superman Earth One vol 2, it was as bad as the first 15 pages suggested, i won't be getting volume 3. I don't even feel like talking about it, it would be like trying to review gum that you've been chewing for a bit and it's flavor is gone. There is nothing to this book but dumb, concentrated, consistent dumb.

on the plus side i've finished three trades lately, Peter Panzerfaust , I Vampire vol 1 and now Supes. 3 down 100 to go. Going to read Batman Earth One to get it over with and hopefully learn from my buying regrets. February pre-order dcbs trades: Mind MGMT vol 1 50% off, seems safe, I liked the first issue.

How was Marshal Law? The Deluxe HC is enticing at half off too.

I couldn't recognize all the characters in the last page of Avengers #1, could someone list them for me?
...and is that a female NohVarr, wtf marvel?
Great issue though, didn't like how Hulk was written though.

Not the case actually, Morrison has always been good at playing with others and still is, there's a few references thoughout this new run. He even mentioned Nobody, tying his awesome Damian and Tomasi's crappy Damian together in continuity. It's the other books that mostly ignore Morrison, to their detriment imo.

Apart from Batwing. Grant's editor should have caught the fact that he's using and ENTIRELY different Batwing in his book than in normal continuity. Which is funny considering that GM invented the character.

EDIT: also, isn't one of the reasons Joker knows about Bruce and Family is because of Inc? I'm sure that's come up. Same as with the court of owls, I'm sure Inc was mentioned as part of it.

Batman Earth One on the other hand was mostly enjoyable despite the same argument that having a whole new universe just to SLIGHTLY change things seems ridiculous. I could also do without the usual Geoff Johns
having children killed
thing, but it's expected.

So I am guessing World's Finest has a following here?

I mean, I LOVE just about all the character designs to come out of this, and Earth 2, but I cannot find any other redeeming qualities to this book.

And I have tried. Desperately.

I like it a lot

I like this book too

Posting this here too because we all need to work together to spread awareness.

John C Reilly for Thing. Spread the word.

He's gonna wreck it!

First 48 issues, up until the end of the prison arc, are pretty phenomenal. I read up to 86, I believe, before I lost interest. Everything after the prison stuff just didn't ever that level again. I do like that the Walking Dead show is actually getting lots of people to read the comics, the opposite of pretty much every other comic related entertainment. If only those Nolan fangirl chumps would pick up the Court of Owls trade instead of snatching up a million copies the The Long Halloween.

Kirkman is a chill brah though, Invincible is the best.

I'd say if you are at 86, read on and catch up to 104, I think it's getting really good again currently. :p

Arguably even better than the prison arc, but YMMV.

The TV show is decent, especially this season but the writing is much weaker than the comics and they ruined Michonne and Andrea in particular.

I think johns has a fetish for humiliating batman.

I liked Earth One because it's obvious Johns knew he couldn't one-up Year One and did his own weird ass thing instead.
