Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

I assume it'll be cheaper if you only buy the Vita version then? Hmm, money saved against probable easy double platinum? Decisions!

That depends on how they handle the trophy lists. They've shown that they the means to limit you to just one trophy list for both versions as seen in Retro City Rampage... but have yet to implement it for any of their own cross-buy games. Even PS All-Stars has two separate lists even though that already exists. ._.

Basically, their online leader boards won't sync anymore. Always fails. I notice that a Terms of Service notice quickly pops up before it errors, I feel like that broke it somehow.

And from reading around, it's nearly everyone. ( which isn't many to begin with)

Alright, I'll message the producer on Twitter and see if he responds.

TOP OF PAGE POST - Buy Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus.
It's a game about a ninja who kills other ninja for a living.

Top of page in spirit.

Does / Did anyone else play Gravity Rush exclusively while standing? I played one session lying in bed and it seems like using the right stick for aiming controls sorta misses the point. I plan to play the rest of the game as immersively as possible, AKA swinging my body and Vita around as necessary.

I've been slogging through this game since launch. What a POS, I don't have a problem with the framerate, but the whole game is so boring. Level design is plain bad. Actually the design of everything is just bad.

Any chance PS2 games will be available on the PSN store for vita?

Also, is the SFxT 2013 patch also coming out for vita? I'd assume it is since it's cross play with the PS3 version.

Regarding PS2 Classics, Yoshida said it's unlikely, but Sony's engineers are pretty beastly. If it ever happens I wouldn't expect it to have huge compatibility.

By that logic I should go out and buy Ninja Gaiden 3.

(Please don't buy Ninja Gaiden 3.)

Ninja Gaiden 3 is about a ninja who kills people in the business of killing other people.
But first, he makes them cry like little girls.

Are you man enough to make soldiers cry like little girls?

Even the combat? :(

It owuld be too good if it happened :(

Im thinking of getting P3P, isn't there a certain poser here that hates it even though they like P3? What's the reason?

Multiple, actually. They feel like it's a gutted experience from the PS2 game, which is bull, imo. P3P is perfectly serviceable and is plain out better mechanically than vanilla P3 and FES.

How about 2? Ninja Gaiden is probably my favorite game of all time, but I never got 2. I'm thinking Sigma Plus 2 is the perfect opportunity, since I have little interest in 3 (I heard it sucked).

...Well first we need the PS1 games to work.

ehhh I'd give this game 7/10

I liked the customization. some of the secret helmets you unlock look laughably over-sized though. Some of the combos are sweet to pull off and the enemies are somewhat varied. the camera was positioned awkwardly at times as well, the story also leaves A LOT to be desired. the graphics and sound are on par; the picture is clear while the slashing and piercing sounds are satisfying.

with a bland and uninspired story, I didn't find the game fun to finish. the pretty graphics and good combat does not make up for the lack of narrative and it's not a game I want go back to.

I doubt I'll be picking up future iterations of Ninja Gaiden.

plus if you like playing as a chick it's the only way to go :P

I think I have buyers remorse for getting Marvel, especially now that I know it's not cross play.....I guess the biggest thing of all is that Marvel is a very movement intensive game, which makes it even harder for me considering I use a stick. Dash canceling and all that other stuff is so much harder on the vitas dpad than on stick. The D-Pad on the vita is good, but it's not as good as the PS2's imo. SRK motions are harder to do compared to the DS2, but the one plus is that the Vitas dpad doesnt hurt your thumb after continued use.

I think I'm gonna trade in AC3:L and UMvC3 tomorrow and get SFxT instead. The motions are much simpler and more suited for handheld play, plus it's cross play ensuring the online scene wont be dead any time soon. I'm also really holding on to hope that the SFxT patch will be as good as Dieminion and all the other top SF players are saying about it.

I might also get GG and P3P today depending on my mood.

Should have gotten BlazBlue and helped me get trophies. >:O

I am not sure what you were expecting from the game..but this is the first time I have heard a negative review about Ninja Gaiden mainly because of its narrative.

Platinum'd Gravity Rush the other day, it was easier than it seemed when I beat the game the first time. I was just doing challenges and such and the Platinum randomly popped up, wasn't even aiming toward it, and I left my AC3:L in another state on accident. :( Also, is Retro City Rampage worth a buy? The demo was pretty fun.

I like Japan Codes Store, though I'm not so sure how good the prices are compared to other places like Play Asia. I haven't actually been to this site in a long time and it looks way more professional!
I've used this twice quite recently and they've been pretty good. The codes aren't emailed instantly, but I've gotten them within 24 hours. I think they are slightly cheaper than Play Asia. They still seem a bit pricey compared to the exchange rate, but it seemed to be the cheapest and most convenient when I was looking.

Yeah, PlayAsia and JCS are basically an issue of "DO YOU WANT IT NOW NOW" for slightly higher price or "can wait a bit" for slightly cheaper. I've never used JCS before, but I hear no shortage of good things about it.

Blazblue would be almost as bad :p

Is it cross play at least? If it is I may pick it up around christmas time.

...It's Cross-Save! :D

No cross-play, no. :(

I was expecting an action adventure game.

to elaborate further on my initial comment. there was nothing about the game that I wanted to go back to do. with other games for example Wipeout, I always want to go back and unlock something new. With Uncharted and Gravity Daze, I always wanted to find out what happened next in the story. with PSASBR I want to unlock the next belt.

it's not just the lack of narrative but, compared to other games, there wasn't an engaging hook for me to finish the game/finish the game multiple times.

That's how japanese action games are though. It's all flashy and "deep" combat but there's not much else they try to focus on outside of that. A competent narrative especially is the very last thing I would expect in one of those games.

now now... I've been toying around with blazblue on the psp to see if I should get it for ps3/vita and it controls great
as long as you choose stylish :P

If you think SFxT is a better pad game than UMvC3, you're certifiably insane. That is all.

Blazblue/MK/UMvC3 are all factually easier to play because they don't use 6 attack button layout where you're required to awkwardly map buttons to L/R. ;)
6 button fighters without a stick have sucked on a pad since the Super Nintendo.

SFxT is good on Vita... but those 6 buttons man, it's just a drag. It's a game of "which two buttons do you use the least, map the other four to the face buttons and hope it works". Good for portable play and killing time. Horrible for competition.

I disagree. While Ninja Gaiden has a weak story and you may have your opinions about Japanese games, it's absolutely an over-generalization to say Japanese games are flashy, claim to be "deep," and without a competent story.

You put deep (combat) in quotation marks. going back to the Ninja Gaiden we are talking about, it's not an easy game to be good at lol; it's a frustrating game for newcomers (like myself) and clearly takes practice to be consistent at higher difficulties.

It depends on how you define deep combat though. While some may call the combat in Ninja Gaiden deep, others will call it repetitive.

With the exception to some titles such as puzzle games and sports games, I expect a engaging story in most games I play.

Thanks guys went with Playasia

Hey.. so I played like 15 minutes of AC Liberation - and I decided I'd rather spend my time elsewhere.

Is there any way to remove the trophy listing from my Vita so my list is more presentable I don't have to look at a 0% for the rest of my life?

Crazy giving up after 15 minutes.

No way of removing them.

Then I'm not sure why you're playing japanese action games. While I admit I haven't played every single one ever made I have played all of the DMCs and Bayonetta and some of the Ninja Gaiden's and they're all abortions in the story and writing department. They very clearly put all of their work into the combat system which is fine for some people but like you I also need a story that at the very least is up to a 9th grade writing standard.

YOU ARE BAD AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD.

Ninja Gaiden 1 is still the pinnacle of action games. NG2 and NG3 don't even touch it. Hell, other action games don't.

Though NG1S+ is just a bad port all around. Go play Black.
