Rewatching it again, I like it a bit better. The Gladiator music really is distracting at first - not to mention Martha Kent's awful line reading. Everything after that is pretty great - especially the part Sunhi gif'd.

I was physically taken aback at that line.
All the time. Most recently two days ago when I saw Tangled for the first time and absolutely loved it. Doesn't have anything to do with the price of tea in China though, nor does it change my feelings on this trailer.

Story was influenced by Birthright. In that, Pa Kent is pretty conflicted by Clark's heritage and growing abilities.
Superman Returns is what happens when there's not one.
I absolutely loved this moment in the trailer, with the music swelling up. It's better than all the previous Superman movies put together.

Anyone complaining that this doesn't show off enough is being ridiculous. What more do you want? You'll be in the theater day one regardless, like the rest of us.
I really liked it a lot... except for ONE thing.
Jonathan Kent would never ever EVER advocate the loss of life. He's committed to protecting his son, yes, but at the cost of innocent life? No, sir, not buying it. He's Superman without powers - that's the guy he is. So his line about having Clark just let people die to preserve the secret is unbelievably wrong.
That being said, I liked just about everything else. I'm hoping the solemn nature of the trailer is meant to show the darkness that Clark has to step out of to become Superman. Because that's actually fairly consistent with the character. He's kind of a mess until he figures out how to use his powers to help people in public.

Looks good, but I watched it without audio so I can't say for sure. Probably more excited for Iron Man 3, but that and Man of Steel look to make 2013 damn awesome for superhero blockbusters.
Regarding Zack Snyder, he seems to make movies that, if divisive, are true to what he intended. I think it is amusing that he's following up Sucker Punch with this movie, but I like the style he brings to movies.

Honestly, I would ahve rather seen a Snyder Superman film untouched by the hands of Nolan. I do like some of Snyder's stuff and I think he can be very true to the character when he wants to.

Superman Returns is already the best looking superhero movie. Whether you think it is boring or not, it was certainly gorgeous to look at.
