That's a shame, was really hoping for this dude to return.

Best Lex.
Maybe Lex is the kid that sees Clark rescuing the bus? :O

I hope to god they dont have any "oh its laced with kryptonite, I'm becoming a blundering heap of a man, cuz of a green crystal" shit and employ more creative ways of using Kryptonite.

I really don't like the tone they're going for here. It looks bleak and grim, trying so hard to be more "realistic", but this is fucking Superman. I feel this is part of what really made Superman Returns suffer too - trying too hard to try and make sense of how Superman could fit into the world today. I don't think they need to do that. Just make a big fun colorful movie about an invincible alien who comes to Earth, grows up, and does things we cannot do, making the world a safer place.

Pretty much my stance as well. I've accepted the fact that Captain America is the closest to what I want out of a Superman film.

Well, if you're like me and consider Zod bitchslapping Supes in the face a form of Kryptonite, then they already have.

Until Snyder tops the airplane sequence in SR, all tarring and feathering of Singer must cease.

The fact that Superman looks like he'll actually fight someone in this movie means that the airplane scene has already been topped.

I don't want Lex in the next movie either unless its just a small role. I want Braniac, Mr.Myzyplick, Doomsday, Maxima, Mongul, Darkseid, Metallo,Parasite, Satanus, and Hank Henshaw.

Looks very good.

But yeah, I'm a little bit concerned about the tone. Seems to take itself a bit too seriously. We'll see.

Michael Shannon is gonna kill it, though, I know. Really looking forward to him as the villain.

I remember a collective mixed reactions from the reveal of the son throwing the piano in the theater.

Laughs

Groans

more laughs.

And honestly, that fucking plane sequence isn't that great it's really not.

Look, I like Returns a lot but what's so special about that sequence?

To be honest GAF people overate it.

Its very well shot and executed, but lacks any real sense of tension because you aren't invested in the characters that earlier on.

Would've been better for a climax. As it stands, a technically well done action set peice but quite hollow in the context of the movie.

I'm not going to get into a discussion over the merits of a good action sequence with a bunch of Christopher Nolan action sequence fans.

The airplane sequence was wonderfully shot, scored and edited.

Seeing Christopher Reeves fight General Zod and his lackeys on cables was more exciting.

Solo: My alternate niche movie has a better action scene than big-name director movie.

GAF: STOP trying to be contrarian. It really wasn't that better.

Solo: what would you know, you crass nolanite! Your preception of cinema begins with memento and ends with TDKR!

;)

how is that an action sequence? It's just a saving of a plane in the most delayed way, he just wanted a excuse to use a huge amount of CGI.

essentially just ripping off a sequence from a episode of Superman TAS.

Speaking of which, I just want to see a live action Superman to at least attempt an action sequence like Superman vs. Captain Marvel in JLU.

But Nolan didn't direct this. And this looks like it has some good action sequences.
Plane sequence is Returns was not that impressive .

Next thing you know, you'll start to believe Skyfall had the best action scenes of the year.

The Raid did action best.
