thats because he fuckin was, he was superman that didnt have time for that. Still heroic and sacrificed himself to save Kal El but at the same time would eradicate that ass if you talked too much.

Its a pretty good over the top pornstar name too.

you know, a friend of mine just finished reading my issue. They just finished telling me that they now want to buy it and get some variants specifically to support this book. And they loved Avengers Academy. Go figure.

Last page, last narration box. Kills any 'fake-out' hopes pretty dead. So instead Marvel intends to sell Spider-Man, one of their few bigtime once relateable personalities now on the shoulders of a totally dry talking cowardly asshole.

Just sort of speaks to Slott seemingly fluking a few good Spidey storylines and never truly understanding why people were enjoying elements of his run.

Clearly Jason Aaron should just write everything bigtime at Marvel, although I guess Hickman can have his big grandiose trundlers too since people seem to like them.

I started reading Secret Warriors and I realized I do surely love that trundling. Only Hickman could get me to read a map of secret Nick Fury hideouts and be like "Ooooo!"

While I didn't really like Hickman's FF run anywhere near as much as anyone else, I really enjoyed the short and sweet wrap up stories he engaged in towards the end, they were a whole bunch better. Sometimes I feel like he tries to write "too big" and everything else like characterisation and issue to issue enjoyment falls by the wayside.

I READ Arena already. The book is horrendous.

I read it with an objective mind.

Arcade was nothing like Arcade with his usual puns and attitude and was not sporting his usual attire and was not shown as the cowardly person he is depicted as. He forgot all the character development of Hazmat and wrote Mettle without his humor or humility factored in. The dialogue of the new characters was monotone and established no difference in personality. And instead of being Battle Royal like where he introduces himself then lets the kids fight it out, instead they had him force the fight since they did not include any villains to be the antagonist of the story. The book suffers from all the issues I said it would suffer from.

So yeah. Book is utter trash.

I know it's wrong but I couldn't help but laugh. Who are these people you're talking about? Were they characters in something? I know they weren't Runaways because I read that book.
 
I'm usually pretty open-minded about series reboots, but the fact that the new Guardians series doesn't give the tiniest of shits about things established in the excellent DnA run irk me. They irk me enormously. In the following ways!

Star-Lord
- No helmet. That helmet was awesome! Why you gotta mess with magic, McNiven?
- GotG Spoilers:
He's alive. He got the perfect Hero's Death at the end of Thanos Imperative. He deserved to keep it.

Gamora
- Look, I'm not saying the girl's gotta dress like the universal supply of cloth is getting low, but that skull on her crotch was SIGNATURE. Again, magic.

Rocket Raccoon
- I've got no problems with Rocky. He's carrying a huge gun and he looks like he's up to something. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Groot
- His Majesty should not be sullied by the appearance of arc reactors. HE AM GROOT.

Drax the Destroyer
- GotG Spoilers:
Again, he's alive? He got blown to bits. In the Cancerverse, no less, where it would be impossible to cross over from.

Iron Man
- Hrm.

Avengers academy Dawg, both of those characers were in a relationship. it was a really well done book by Gage and co. the football game against the jean grey school was a must read issue
