All of the Skylanders. They think they are just getting the game, but I was a champion and acquired all of the new ones for Giants that have released.

Wii U

Bunch of Lego Sets

iPad Minis

Those Imaginext things in the OP

Bunch of other stuff I can't think of right now

edit: My boys are 8 and 4. Daughter is only 15 months so she's just getting a few things. Unborn baby boy is not yet registered with Santa. Cat gets a stocking.

Stepson: (19) He wants a galaxy tab, but he needs new tires for his car so he's getting those since he squandered all his money in PlayStation home. + clothes. He's 19 so his Christmas from me is small compared to my biological two

Daughter: (14)
iphone 5
apple tv
new shoes tom's and a pair of vans
New TV since her old tube Samsung has finally kicked the bucket.
3 new outfits (her mother will handle this)

Son: (8)
Wii U
NSMB 2
Star Wars clone wars box set
couple of random lego sets
new shoes a pair of Adidas and sketchers

Damn, your kid has good taste.

My daughter is a month old so she only wants sleep and breast milk. Can't wait until she's old enough to get excited for Christmas.

My 5 ½ year old son would like:

Skylanders Giants (Game).

Telescope.

Hot Wheels App thingy for iPad.

Angry Birds board game thing.

Star Wars : Who Is It?

My 20 month old daughter probably wants chocolate.

Yea I love being a step kid

my 3 year old pretty much wants everything. I pretty much stop bringing her to the mall and avoid the toy section because she just cries everytime leaving the toy section.

would you please adopt me?

My 2.5 y/o isn't at that the point where she can make requests. But she's getting one of those play kitchen thingies. (The one we have is borrowed from a friend).

I look forward to her inviting us to her room and cooking us a meal. Always a treat.

My nephew (6) wanted Pac-Man Party 3D for 3DS. Ugh. Why do kids have such shitty taste? I got it for him though. Apparently a few if his friends have it and play MP on the reg.

I didn't even make requests until I was 6-7 years old...my parents just surprised me with gifts and I loved the fuck out of them. Those Christmas' where I wasn't asking for anything were the best of my life.

My parents always got me matchbox cars...I loved those things.

My 6.5 son wans an ipod(i tried to convince him to get a mini ipad instead since they cost basically the same here), a Chicharito figure(mexican soccer player) and a lego set.

Daughter 13:
Laptop (pink)
iTunes gift cards
Snapback hat (this is a thing now?) Used to be all about fitted.

Son 12:
PS3
Vita
Wii U
iTunes gift card..

Can you see which one of my darlings is the hardcore gamer and has no regard for money?

My daughter is 7 and this is the first year she actually wants specific things. In years past we just got her what we knew she'd like, and it was fine.

This year she wants every dumb thing she sees on TV. It's amazing how advertising works on kids - they can't escape it. She wants one of the new Furbys, which I was going to get, until I found out they're $54! I know she won't play with it for more than a week so I'm bot buying it. It's not that I don't have $54, it's that that's a crazy price for a freaking Furby.

She also says she wants an iPad, which she keeps calling an "iPod," despite me correcting her each time. She's also not getting that because we already have an iPad3, which she can pretty much use when she wants within reason. Makes no sense for her to be asking for an iPad, plus...she's 7.

Basically she's getting Legos, books, and movies. She's going to like it all. She's a pretty agreeable kid. I'm kind of worried about what might happen if she asks "Why didn't Santa bring me a Furby? It was on my list." I don't know what we'll say. Maybe "Santa knows those things are really dumb."

What you need to give him is a membership at GAF, haha.

14 year old daughter wants an Apple TV? I don't get it. What is it that the device have, that makes a 14 years old want one?

I don't think people are actually buying all this stuff at least I sincerely hope not. I think these are just the wishlists.

In any case it's nice to see some kids still have good taste and want action figures and video games and less $500 devices to play 99cent apps. You've raised them well.

All he wants this year is angry birds plushies, an imaginext bat cave (Sixty. Dollars.) and the imaginext Mega Rex (because it kinda looks like super dinosaur). he's not really greedy.

EL won't let me until he's 14 IIRC.

Six month old probably just wants breast milk and naps. He's getting some wood toys and such.
Near three year old wants everything that he sees a commercial for. I find it funny when he sees a commercial for say a doll and says "I want that, I'm a girl"
But he's getting a bunch of building toys (duplo, magnatiles, etc), some dress up costumes for pretend play, a baby doll, some puzzles, chutes and ladders, candy land, and some other wooden toys/musical instruments. And his grandpa is buying him an ipad.

You are an awesome parent. Wow I loved these games so much as a kid.

My mom actually bought my then-7 YO an Apple TV. He loves being able to play stuff from his Touch on the TV.

That said, back to the topic at hand:

8 YO boy: Kindle Fire, Skylanders, FIFA 13, Madden 13 (all on 360), SMB 2 for 3DS

6 YO girl: Nook Tablet (just to be different from her brother, LOL, but no, she's not getting it, she already has a Touch she lost), Furby, American Girl Doll crap, Skylanders

They're also getting a joint gift which is a new Labyrinth game (Ravensburger). It's electronic and looks like a hell of a lot of fun. The old Labyrinth game is a huge hit.

I got my son said pogo stick
a louisville slugger
a book of pixar bedtime stories
the dangerous book for boys
an elenco snap circuits set
2 nerf guns and a bunch of darts

and I'm sure his mom and grandparents and going to buy him a tonnage of other stuff (he is the only grandson so far)

Have you see these Wooden Building Blocks they're a bit pricy, but kids can use them years.

Heh, we actually got those last year. He loves them, and they are in great shape still, so when the baby is a bit older he can play with them, too. We try to do our best to foster imaginative and pretend play, so we try to go with more wooden/non battery powered toys (not that battery powered toys can't foster imaginative play, of course, but we will save that kind of stuff for when they are older)

What I would love to get them is those snap circuit things, but they are way too young or those right now.

Edit: oh the toddler is also getting a bunch of art supplies (paint, crayons, play doh, etc)

My kiddo has recently moved more toward legos, which are great for imagination and creative play, they also teach basic building skills, which is cool. Those snap circuit things? What ya talking 'bout?

The batcave was $35 at TRU last week. I know cause I had to buy one for my 4 year old.

My daughter (5) wants some dress up clothes and a light up pillow thing,

My son (7) wants a sky landers game and a magic eight ball. Also angry birds plushies.

My son (9) wants epic Mario 2 and angry birds.

The boys also both want tablets, but that's impossible to afford lol. We'll be lucky if we can get them the other stuff.

You people spend a lot of money on your offspring.

No kidding.

I make plenty of money, but each kid is getting about $100 of stuff max each. They will be plenty happy and they won't grow up spoiled assholes.

iPhone 5, iPad, etc. for a kid? WTF people?

I think my newphew is ready for Legos. It'd be neat to get him a LOTR set but he's definitely in that phase of being really into construction vehicles and stuff. Will probably get him a Lego City set and a truck of some sort.

They're going pretty fast, it's hard to find for a reasonable price (though this thread did cause me to look and find it for 39 dollars! ahaha!)

That's it, before i send your kids christmas presents next year, i'm going to ask you want they want, in a shocking twist from how we usually do it.

My five year old daughter wants Karate class. Which led to a discussion with my wife, where she believe that when people ask what our kid wants for Christmas, we should tell them to contribute money to her going to Karate class.

I said this didn't sit right with me; essentially asking people to give money for a child's gift. She says people do this all the time, and if not for Christmas, we should do it for birthday, which is coming in March.

Does this seem right, I don't know why, but it feels kinda classless.

Nobody on GAF wants a 14 year old shitting up threads.

I'm still trying to figure out the appropriate age to let him go online and play games. Guess that's for another thread.

Oh yeah, I'm no dad but as someone who plays online frequently, I wouldn't suggest that for a 14 year old. As you said, that is for another thread.
