Ok why are they interviewing the kids? Hearing little kids describing bullets flying and people screaming and dying has me sobbing at my desk... this is fucking awful.

They have no reason to do this. This is despicable on their end.

Also, they're now searching in NJ for connections to the shooting.

What? Most schools in the states require you to be buzzed in to actually get into the building? The Fuq!? The US Seriously needs to get their Gun laws straight. You need some sort of national regulatory board like every other country out there.

that's how our schools are in a little country community. the schools get locked down.. and we have police officers

My question to America..How bad do things have to get before you start putting restriction on gun use? how many people have to die? How many mass shooting have to occur?

dude, that might not be him...

Who gives a shit if its close to Christmas? This tragedy would be just as tragic no matter when it happened. People with your fucked up priorities.
Yeah because that's totally what I meant. Seriously use your brain and read between the lines.

Edit: sorry I didn't mean to be so harsh but there was no need to lash out and swear at people.

Yes it would be horrible at any time, but the holidays are supposed to be a time of family and joy.

what action do you propose is taken? unless you can remove all guns from the world, a gun ban is not going to do anything
I don't think you remotely have evidence that's true.

What I suggest is that we discuss it and try to find ways to minimize these incidents, and tighter gun control is clearly a part of that, but nowhere near enough. What I don't accept is that the only thing that can be done is to be sad and shut up about solutions.

Goddamn can you imagine being that guy and getting 10,000 shares of your profile picture stating you're a sick fucker while not have done anything?

It wasn't until my junior year in high school (about 2003) that the school required the doors to be locked on the outside, and in order to get in you needed to be buzzed in or have someone open it from the inside. before, anyone could just walk up to the front door and walk right in

I want some god damn media reform. These fucking bastards are seriously pissing me off with these interviews of kids and pics of crying parents splashed on the Internet.

Man, what's up with the internet detectives? Even if it's likely him, the small chance that it isn't means you should hold the fuck up. Innocent people are going to get hounded to hell and back like this.

Seems selfish. They have somehow contributed something.

Re: Bullets vs. knives.

No, a knife is no more lethal than a bullet unless in the hands of someone EXTREMELY well trained. Knives create wide but extremely clean wounds, actual cuts. Bullets (specially rifle bullets and buckshot) create shockwaves inside your body that can compress and even rupture your internal organs.

To ilustrate the point, this is what happens when you shot a block of jelly with a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with 000 buckshot: http://youtu.be/QLun92bR4BA and this is the effect of a .308 Winchester (a somewhat large game used by both armies and hunters) http://youtu.be/jE9xjUVcszs

Notice the massive shockwaves. Now try to imagine what would happen to your vital organs if they were caught between the buckshot and your ribcage.

I'm not a journalist, but I did go to school for it, and I'm preeeeeeeetty sure that interviewing small children involved in a tragedy like this is a no-no.

But then, I did skip Journalism Ethics class 90% of the time, maybe they did too?

As a father I can't imagine the horror of this.
