Really don't get the Spidey spoiler overreactions. It's
exactly what we said it would be. For like a month. Is it the part where Peter passes on the mantle and Doc promises to be good? That's sort of lame I guess, but I don't think it warrants that much hate.

I don't really see what the big deal is either.

i dont get why people have to announce when they are doing something. you plan on leaving? then leave. getting tired of talking about comics? then stop.

The worst thing about that is, they never do. If you care so damn much that you have to announce to the readers of thread that you're leaving or something melodramatic like that...you're not really leaving. You're obviously too emotionally-invested.

Just like everybody saying, "Aaah spoilers, media blackout, I'm out guys!" and then you see those mothafuckas two days later. "Ok seriously, I'm really out guyz, see you on the other side!" If you were really serious, you wouldn't even CLICK on that thread. It wouldn't even cross your mind.

Watch me. ^_^

Quitting neogaf and avoiding Pacific Rim media until I go see it in July. :3

Unlike the rest of these heathens, Guillermo del Toro has nothing to prove to me. He's been fantastic for years.

it would have been more poignant if you would have went out like henry blake and had someone tell everyone you werent coming back instead of announcing it to the thread

I don't have an emissary here.

The last time I took time off unannounced people started to speculate as to what happened.

So consider this my infinite Eurotrip.

(Also the fact that it's probably the greatest time to get into comic books because there's an actual goddamn breadth of creators and genres and ideas being tackled in everything and it's just so exciting, because really, arguing about capes is as silly as it's fun, and it's very silly indeed, I mean, for fuck's sake, I thought Cable and X-Force was pretty good)

so much this

you and birdie are secret lovers, you could have appointed him.

but really, ive spoken about this more than i feel i should have, so lets go back to talking about when the anti-bong is coming so we can get mayday back.

Need to read Thor still before I decide to keep or not...

But next week, I'm anxious for:

- AXM #4
- Hawkguy #6
- Avengers #2

Good reading while in line at Disneyland, that's for sure.

Remender's biggest problem in UXF is how damn long these arcs are!

Wow, next week is packed though. I'm getting:

All-New X-Men #4
A+X #3
Avengers #2
Avengers Arena #2
Cable and X-Force #2
Gambit #7
Hawkeye #6
Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #18
Uncanny X-Force #35
Wolverine and the X-Men #22
X-Men Legacy #3
X-Treme X-Men #8

Uhhh... goddamn. Better hold off on my pizza ordering :(

So seriously did anyone else read Justice League Dark #14? Anyone want to speculate on if their hinting towards a multi-universe show down. OU, NU, + The Universe that the Wildcats and those other characters come from free for all?

Is that just your Marvel list or do you exclusively read Marvel?

Aquaman #14 would have been a lot more effective if they didn't reveal what Orm looks like on the cover. It was still good, but...yeah.

Next week is fucking insane in the membrane.

BOOM!:
Adventure Time #11

DC:
Batwoman #15
Supergirl #15
Sword of Sorcery #3
Wonder Woman #15

Image:
Multiple Warheads #3
Saga #8

Marvel:
All New X-Men #4
Avengers #2
Captain America #2
Daredevil #21
Hawkguy #6
Indestructible Hulk #2

Maybe books:
Happy
Journey into Mystery
Captain Marvel

It's totally ladies week for me on the DC front.

Nothing will ever be worse than that, ever.
How about
after everything goes back to normal MJ can't stand being around Peter anymore because her mind keeps flashing back to the times they made love, only now it's Otto's face and body she sees.
That'd be worse right?

What if she's into it and Peter has to role play as Ock for the rest of their lives?

Is Amazon.com going to have a book sale? Really want to get the IDW D&D comic series among other things at least by January.

I don't read JL Dark, but please go into this more.

Thor #2 was okay, the book reminds Fraction's World Eaters arc but instead it's God Eaters. I'm just not terribly interested in new super powerful villains without much else going on, i need more than that, and issue #2 didn't have anything else.

You're doing god's work Birdie. Read all dem comics.

I think I've calmed down about Spider-Man. Viewtiful is 100% right in his earlier point about how we actually read the books instead of commenting on them. I go to college with a class full of nerds and they rolled their eyes when I showed them the spoilers. But damnit, I read these books and I care about these characters even though I shouldn't. Don't think I'll buy Superior, but I'm willing to roll with it.
I just think it sucks that it will affect Hickman's Avengers. I wanted the real Spider-Man to be part of the whole "Wake The World" jazz.

Tizoc, definitely jump on those D&D comics. I think they're great, I just read them a few days ago to help prep myself for a 3.5 campaign I'm starting tomorrow.

I don't read JL Dark, but please go into this more.

At the end of Flashpoint, Pandora makes her first appearance and gives us some info. She basically says that the history of heroes was shattered into 3 timelines to make them weak for somethings pending arrival, and with the help of Barry Allen she was going to combine them into one again. The 3 timelines shown in that splash page are basically the old DCU, the New DCU, and the Wildstorm universe. Then Pandora went ahead and appeared in every number 1 issue of the new 52. Then she's appeared here and there in Phantom Stranger and backup stories in Justice League.

Well at the end of JLD #14 Phantom Stranger shows up and is basically like forget everything you're doing something insane is about to go down. He basically says "War is coming among the three," and then tells Constantine it's time he picked a side. In the last panel we also get a shot of Pandora watching over Phantom Stranger talking to Constantine. A few pages earlier there's also a spash page showing some of Constantine's notes on current DC heroes and such. One of the notes says "Need to find Booster Gold he has to know." then the rest is cut off.

If you remember after Flashpoint Booster, or at least a version of Booster was the only person who fully remembered the original DCU, he makes mention of this in like the last Flashpoint cross over book he appears in. The Booster of the Nu52 at the end of the JLI Annual is confronted by another version of himself wearing a Uniting Super Humans Advanced Research Group badge, talking about Rip Hunter and saying they need to stop Superman and Wonder Woman. The way he talks it sounds like Rip Hunter is trying to stop him and that he didn't have enough time. That's when he sees an image of Superman and Wonder Woman kissing and he blinks out of existence.

I say all of that is interconnected some how.

Maybe I'm over thinking things and the 3 coming to war are just going to be 3 factions in the DCU, or some shit like that, and not 3 timelines/universes/whatthefuckever.

Does anyone know any good podcasts about comic books?

I have a lot of time now that finals are done and I'm getting caught up on comics for the last semester, but I wanna hear what the thoughts were on the books when they came out.

I currently listen to Giant Bomb and Idle Thumbs, but nothing for my other hobby. Last night I gave Kevin Smith's Fatman on Batman a listen and it was pretty interesting.

You can do a lot worse than Chris Sims talking about comics:

you will never be on your own podcast or youtube show

Sometimes I wish I had my own podcast or youtube show. I am not doing anything to make it happen though, so whatever.

It's remarkably easy. Just type any single letter into YouTube's search window and hit return. Viola. So easy. Just look.

just noticed on my last glance of Previews that the Secret History of DB Cooper HC, somewhat oversized, is solicted at 29.99.

How did that turn out overall?

Since the Spider-Man thing is on everyone's minds, here is Kieron Gillen schooling Dan Slott at trolling, somehow managing to make being straddled with Greg Land feel like it's deliberate.

if this was actually marvel's intention, this is masterfully done. Turn something horrible into something amazing.

This is hilarious. I wouldn't call it amazing and the book still hurts my dick to look at but Gillen turning his lemons into lemonade makes me smile but I'm never reading it again.
