Fox/CBS showed the picture. CNN and others released the name without any sort of discretion or warning. Fucking ridiculous. Between this and interviewing children on the scene our media is fucking disgusting. Other than a gun debate there needs to be a serious discussion on putting back some class in journalism.
 
Stupid ass media, they are so worried about being the FIRST to report something they don't even bother checking if it's true or not.
 
Again how does a screen cap prove it's not him? What's the source for that screen shot? For all we know it could be a sick photo shop.

Not saying it is or isn't, but both sides should support their assertions with a source before claiming it as fact.

Considering that the actual shooter is dead,I wouldn't think this guy would have anything to worry about.

And before anyone goes on the "blame guns" kick, remember that it only a few decades ago that we heard how Night Trap was the root of all evil in America.

It is the media's role to act in a professional manner and act as a balance against civilian journalism which can often be faulty and in this case, defamatory.

You do not do shit like that without confirming with an official source. It's basic fundamentals of professional journalism.

To be sure, it requires less skill, preparation and training to kill with guns than with explosives. We need to do everything we can to keep guns out of the hands of crazy people.

I've been flipping between CNN and CBS, I didn't see his Facebook posted on either. Correct me if I'm wrong. Where I did see that exact Facebook page posted was here. When the name came out, people started scrambling. I think it would be wise to take everything with a grain of salt until we get more info. Even that screenshot with the comments could be fake or the result of someone taking over his account.

I was following this when it started. After I read that someone was injured and the shooter was killed I thought it was over.

Checked back a minute ago and I saw the updated title. My whole body started shaking...I cannot even begin to comprehend this.

At this early point, we really should be erring on the side of assuming nothing about supposed suspects until we get solid confirmation otherwise.

serial and mass murderers have been around since forever. the human brain is just too complex, and until we fully understand it and learn what causes this stuff to happen there's really no way to ever stop it from happening.

They should let the police release details first. Same shit happened with the Colorado shooter and people were calling some elderly James Holmes instead.
 
It would be pretty hard for him to have been the shooter seeing how the shooter IS CURRENTLY AND INDEFINITELY NOT ALIVE.

I don't see a 20 year old angry at mommy and daddy taking the time to research and manufacture explosives.

This is likely a case of "fuck you mom and dad" and grabbing the gun from the basement and acting on impulse.
