Yeah, I have it on Steam and PS3 lol. I haven't played it on Steam, and I started on PS3 but stopped once I heard it was coming to Vita because I don't know if I would have been able to make myself do another full playthrough.
Highest priority is ZHP next tuesday (GODDAMNFINALLY), then I'll wait for the US PSN christmas sale to snatch up some PS1/PSP goodies (mainly Alundra/Wild Arms to finally have digital versions). If anything is still left in my PSN wallet, I'll probably get Knytt or Strangers Wrath.
Edit: Top of the page pictures for the mentioned games (in order of mentioning)
I think I will go ahead and unbox that asscreed 3 vita. Its probably worth it alone to catch up on some ps1 games over the holidays. Left all my other consoles in my apartment.
I'm a very indecisive person but I also don't feel finding someone to buy it off of me anymore.

I got it with an offer and the DLC code included in the box, and purchased the additional DLC.
So for the price of a retail game now I get the proper amount of content that it needed, and that wasn't available when the game was released.
Liked this game, even if it didn't reached the masterpiece quality of level of RR PSP, that IMO is the best RR ever.
I suggest to get it to the big RR fans, it's cheap and good even if it doesn't push the console as RR PSP did.
The memory card that comes with the asscreed 3 bundle is going to limit the games i can get for free over ps+ right? I'm assuming some of those games don't fit.
Are there any decent deals on memory cards for this thing?

Buy TO immediately. I barely have any time to play these days, but I somehow put in 60 hours. I should probably buy it again at some point so I can actually finish it--thank god saves carry over.
Yeah I agree. Cool concept but quite limited, and since most of the challenge is derived from the tension of clearing blocks as fast as possible while still amassing combos, it tends to be a bit of a slog when you start a new game.
I definitely still recommend it though, good price for what you're getting. Futur should expand Surge into a meatier $5-10 release with more modes/options. It might be one of Vita's best.
I fully agree. Give me unlockable skins ala Lumines and more modes that all have leaderboards, and this could very well be one of the best games on the system.
I'm with you guys. Some improvements with the art, some additional game modes, unlockable skins (background+good music+new art for pieces) with their own leaderboards and additional game modes.

Not having played LBP on Vita, I can't specifically comment, but comparing Rayman Origins to any other LBP game I've played and completed, it's a no brainer, Rayman Origins is the better platformer. Hell, Rayman Origins might be the best platformer I've played since Super Mario World.
This man gets it, sort of. Unless the content from the community has received a HUGE step up in quality, most of the levels I played in LBP and LBP2 were forgettable and unworthy of the time it took to play them.
If you prefer 2Dish graphics and Mario like gameplay, a more classic platformer experience then you'll prefer Rayman.
If you prefer almost unlimited content of levels and phone gaming games, a better usage of the device unique controls, better replay value, online multiplayer, level specific online leaderboards, possibility to customize your character or create new levels/games or an overal more unique personality in game concept/gameplay/art/music then LBP is your game.
Most of your list for LBP is fine, but I would argue better replay value. I've found enough replay value in Rayman Origins to buy it 3 times and I'll re-buy the PSVita version if we ever get a sale like the one in EU now.
So does anyone with PS+ and the auto upload save option enabled, actually have it work even after fw 2.01?
The other auto functions work fine, and I can manually push to the cloud, and played a bunch of games that updated save files, and it never works. Tried disabling and re enabling and whatnot, etc.
It works fine for me. Just make sure you have auto save upload enabled, then go into CMA and look at the cloud > PSVita to Cloud > and on that screen press the i on the right of each game entry to enable it.
It depends on your tastes. I prefer to see new ideas in new games tailored for the system and to evolve the genre a bit more than a well made multiplatform Mario wannabe that doesn't add anything new for this version (it would be a good addition but I don't think that is needed because is a good game).
The touch controls that were added make it a bit easier to get good scores if you use it. It's a nice addition to the genre that I would take over any of the gimmicks that LBP seems to make use of.
Besides, we're not comparing Rayman to the console versions. We're just comparing it to LBP Vita.

You're going to be so disappointed when SCEA doesn't give you a Christmas Sale (or when it sucks). I feel bad that Sony Claus is about to put coal in your stocking, dude.

Leaderboards that were using PSN IDs would be a huge plus. Also real trophy support. That's all I'd really want... the skins and extra modes would be nice, but I'd be happy with the first two.

No was me disagreeing with your statement(s). That's all.
Personally, I wouldn't give any LBP game I've played more than a 7/10. It's wonky physics, particularly with momentum based jumps and jumping in general, are more annoying than fun.
Rayman is easily a 9/10, maybe a 10/10 in my book.
now it's "he don't have the gamez"... guys we are better than this.
*if you ask about that empty slot ..yes I just moved one game down because it's so embarrassing and I don't want any one ever to know that I have it* >_<

Well it's more of supporting Futurelab and not supporting a me-too horrible digital service like PSM.
but I wont keep supporting Futurlab if they waste their time any longer on PSM and not make good games like Velocity again for PS3/Vita.
I'm guessing it's a mini or PSM game, based on the fact the rest of them are... I wonder what the most embarrassing mini/PSM game is... maybe that one about massaging girls' legs?
Hey now
I wasnt actually trying to imply that you dont own it. I was merely asking because I'd need to argue differently depending on whether you actually own the game or not since you havent stated before (Btw I would have believed you even without a screenshot, I wouldnt call you a "liar"). If you still want my explanation why I think its a good game, I'd still like to know for how long you played it.
Sorry if that came across as insulting though. I dont want to invalidate your opinion, but I'd gladly explain you mine if there is any interest.

I saw you in the leaderboards.
I know I played long enough to best VanWinkle.
It does start to get a bit repetitive when going for high scores because of the fact that you can't make huge amounts of points every round... but it's still fun.

I played Resistance and Unit 13 demos and I don't think shooters will really work on the machine for me unless there's a great grip out there or a tablet revision. My hand was cramping and I had a hard time aiming. :/ I kinda am not looking forward to Killzone Mercenaries and I don't care if Bio Vita ever gets made anymore.
Again, only 104 guys bothred to rate it since the relese weeks and weeks ago, this"game" need to be $5.99 max(or even free) Sony realize that iOS/Android exist and games that similar to what you get in that platform will not get a pass with these sort crazy prices,it's not PSone era anymore, wake up Sony(and SEGA too).
I really enjoyed the demo. For $9.99 or cheaper I would have bought it. Though, I think the numbers game would have worked way better with a stylus, though as I asked marrec above, I'm not sure that's a HW issue or something that can be fixed with a FW update...
R2/L2 buttons on subsequent models would be most welcome. They could have a frankenstein add on for the original like the 3DS got, something like this:
I was going to say Trails in the Sky, but you already got that covered. Here's a couple of my favorites: Tactics Ogre, Ys 7, Persona 3 Portable, and FFT: War of the Lions.
Hm. If we are being completely honest here,I think a big part of it is nostalgia (which is why I want the digital version to replay and judge it once more). However, I tend to realize that quite a few of the more.. sophisticated interests I had when I was younger (compared to the ones that were specifically "childish", such as certain youth book writers) still hold up quite well today. That seems to ring especially true with the videogames I liked, from the PS1 era that would be games as MGS, Tomba, Alundra, Wild Arms, Intelligent Qube, Crash Bandicoot, FF's... Not sure how I managed to get most of the good games, since I didnt have any internet back then, but I seemingly was extremely lucky in picking out good games for me to play.
But to a few points which I really enjoyed about the game (and still remember):
1. Soundtrack.
This might be heavily nostalgia tainted, but I think its the only Wild West inspired sound that I really like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVOFibwVMw0
Bonus: Piano Version 2. Setting.
As the Soundtrack implies, it heavily borrows references from Wild West settings, especially in the character and city/landscape design. And then added )light spoiler):
giant robots into the mix that awakened after years of sleep
, which really changed the way I viewed the game. I thought they achieved a splendid setting mix that actually got me interested, because it had that subtle mix of something that COULD be set in reality with looming ultimate power just buried right under it. You might not like the setting as much if you have a huge aversion to the Wild West references, but as I said, I dont like Wild West usually either and still loved the game. 3. Story.
Unfortunately, I cant remember much about the story other than it eventually leads to you needing to save the world (surprise), however I still remember that they did a great job at using the story to explain the world and how its being shaped by the discoveries you make in the game. I hope to elaborate more on that when I finally replay it. 4. Dungeons
This right here is one of the main reason why you should play the game if you have any interest in "classic" RPG's. The game has TONS of secret areas in the overworld, towns and in the dungeons (At least 6 optional bosses in the game). Almost every rare treasure/skill needs to be earned somehow. The game has some rather progressive use of dungeon puzzles (compared to other videogame RPG dungeons when it released), since your characters have several skills that allow you to overcome certain obstacles. Its not quite Zelda, but some puzzles will definitely be tricky. 5. Battle System
This was the point that got me to love the game though. The game made levelling up and exploring for more skills extremely rewarding. I dont want to spoil too much but there is quite a bit that will open up for your characters once you progress in the game, quite a bit of which you also need to earn yourself. Unfortunately, the Battle System is 3D so it doesnt hold up quite well graphically.
The game has a bit of a slow start and basically 3 introductions (for every one of the main characters), after which you'll get even some more exposition to the story through the first city you meet in and explore for hidden goodies.
As I said, thats all written from a trying to be "grounded"/"objective", but nostalgic point of view since I havent played the game in.. 10 years? But I fondly remember my love and what I loved about it, and I am pretty sure that, even if it might not completely hold up to what nostalgia makes it out to be for me atm, its still a great, classic RPG. Of that I am sure. And a good 40+hrs RPG with tons of secrets for $5,99 sounds like a great deal to me if you like RPG's.

Or is Sony really incompetent when it comes to advertising their games? Maybe three games per year will be hyped up months leading to the launch, and people will talk about the game for a few weeks after. I'm talking about titles such as PSASBR, Uncharted, etc. But, some games like Wonderbook and Gravity Rush more so crept up on me, and even some normal gamers have no idea when games are coming out. I post this here instead of in a PS3/PS4 thread because this happens to be the case more with Vita games than anything else. Like we didn't even know when Declassified was coming out until about two weeks before release, and it all came from an interview that came from a guy who is not widely known in the business.
Hm-m. Thats a tricky one. I know others who liked Persona who didnt necessarily like story focussed games too. I mean, in the end it could still be very much the reason why you wouldnt like Persona, but Persona is being set up differently than most other games.
While you usually watch a single(sometimes multi-layered) story in most games, Persona focusses on smaller stories that are basically the stories of the people living in that world. Persona 4 especially has these story segments about a particular person before and after a dungeon that I found really interesting since they dont drag on too long. There is still "much" story to be had here, sure, but by dividing that into small chunks of people's fate you read, it doesnt feel like a single huge story arc you need to follow. Know what I mean?
I think its hard to describe since I cant even think of any other game doing this, but its one aspect that actually makes Persona stand out from all the other story centric games. Maybe someone could say its not as much "story" centric, as it is "character" centric for a wide variety of characters that you get to like and love. Its really hard to feel like a single of those stories overstayed its welcome if they only last for 30-60 minutes each.
And then you can still spend HOURS in the dungeons, easily. I mean you said you got the impression that there is lots of story here, but the way I play it, I have like 1 hour story and then 5 hours of dungeon romping. Watching videos is a bit of a bad way to judge that, but I agree that its sensible for you to hold out on a 40$ purchase if you cant be convinced otherwise. You might indeed not like it, but then again.. its deservedly one of the best RPG's ever made. Maybe some games deserve that small leap of faith. If there isnt anything else to hold you back, maybe you can find the retail version cheaper next year or something to give it a try at least (and then resell if you dont like it).

Thats not necessarily Sonys fault alone though (there is usually also a non Sony publisher at fault, as in the COD example), but yeah. Its a bit stupid that they dont see any reason to build up steam before big Vita releases.
That is also the reason why I think those "NO GAMES IN THE FUTURE" comments were incredibly stupid even before we had that neat little JP release list someone made a few pages back. An amazing game could release next month, and we dont know yet! Maddening, but considering the latest output I am still pretty confident we'll have something new and interesting to play each month.

Sony makes more games than it needs to. That's the unfortunate truth. Having a gigantic first party is great ... if the software sells. If it isn't selling, what you instead have is a gigantic money sucking pit.
Marketing for handheld games in the west is even worse. Most western third parties couldn't give two shits about the handheld market, which is why they're so eager to corrode it with $5 ports of games they charge $40 for on Vita/3DS. SCEA is a beast of habit, they market what they expect will sell based off of industry trends. Hence them marketing the shit out of Call of Duty 2/10 and Assasssin's Creed Bulgaria while sweeping Gravity Rush under the rug.
I buy new games .. I play them for a few mins and feel like I have to go back and finish my older games .. I never go back to them and never play new games ... I buy new games ...
Not to mention the platforms. I mean I have Dishonoured (And about 500+ unfinished games) for PC. Just got Dragon's Dogma for the PS3, Halo 4 for my Xbox, Shit ton of games for Vita, 3 Mario games for my 3DS and close to like 100 dollars worth of android games I have yet to touch.

I know that feeling too well My Steam account also has like 350+ games I havent properly played. I finally managed to stop my purchasing urges on PS360 and PC though.
I sort of restricted myself to Vita for now (until Last of Us I guess), and try to get some games done. Needed to force myself to finally finish AC:L, but damn does it feel good to finally finish a game once again.
Not being able to disable the rear touchpad is killing SotN for me.
Also, for those saying Surge is a two minute game, I've played it for several hours already. There's plenty of scope for strategy and the game needs quick thinking (and reflexes) to get anywhere close to the top of the leaderboard.
Agreed that it could do with some Lumines style theme/music options, but considering what they're doing with Velocity now I don't see why they couldn't do the same with Surge down the line if they think it's feasible.

One console, one handheld is more than enough for me (and with + I seldom need to buy games). I can't understand how people find the time for any more.
