So for EDH, I know your commander has to be legendary but can you have other legendary creatures in the deck? Or only one legendary creature as the commander?

They could just Lightning Bolt one of them. Any single-target removal spell will quickly put an end to the gazillion Golems.

Or just good ol' Wrath of God. The Golems don't have haste, so they won't be attacking for another turn.

Asceticism haha

I want to build this deck

Rite of Replication is amazing in EDH. Have done it with kicker on all the Titans, including Sundering Titan when it was legal, Kokusho, Thragtusk, Zealous Conscripts, Wurmcoil Engine, etc. Sooooo fun.

I do like it. Though I am also not convinced it isn't just entirely luck based on your late draws. Need a version with deck building to actually make a judgment.

Talk about just turning creatures sideways...

Now you attack every turn! And no real instants. Just fight fight fight. And MTG mechanics are all present but just renamed. It's the found in a flea market in Budapest version of MTG.

Super bad. I'll give it a shot when the full version is released, but its just laughable at this point. They just ripped off MTG wholesale, added lanes and took away any sense of strategy. So very disappointed.

Bombed the draft tonight, but had a blast playing the holiday cube with some friends. First deck was a nuts Rec-Sur combo and various other reanimation stuff. First turn mana dude, second turn Survival and use it, third turn Recurring Nightmare, sac it to reanimate Griselbrand feels so good. Also had Myr Battlesphere for brute force and Angel of Despair for removal. Loads of fun.

Is the Magic Online cube even worth playing if I don't have a decent knowledge of cards from the game's history? In watching a few cube videos it seems like there isn't really time to actually read everything when you open a pack. So it seems like actually picking correctly would be tough.

Yeah, I don't think it would be wise to do it if you don't know a lot of the cards. Reading them during draft is not going to work either.

I wish I could draft the cube, but I know I'm just gonna end up picking this uncohesive pool of cards because I don't know half of them, and then make misplays on every turn.

If you have no idea how to play a format like this stay away. Far away.

The format is all about crapping on each other in the most hideously broken fashion possible.

Just like Rootborn Defenses, it seems that someone opened a Gatecrash card in a RtR pack this week

Evolve was an ability designed by someone in GDS2, and he was eventually hired by Wizards, so there is some credibility.

Seems like a VERY Simic ability, if nothing else

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

I'm pretty happy that Evolve, assuming it is real, isn't one of those mechanics that needs to be built around. Forgot the term for it, could someone refresh my memory.

Okay, you can oblivion ring an oblivion ring, correct? If so, the item exiled from the original oblivion ring comes back to the field right?

Now, if all of the above was correct, what happens when you destroy the oblivion ring that exiled the original oblivion ring? It comes back, correct? But now can you choose any other target nonland permanent to exile, or do you re-exile the thing you exiled in the first place or what in the world happens?

You can choose a new target.

On the other hand, if you have 3 O-rings, you can pull an LSV and break Magic Online http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGXG5rNe_tI

EDIT Beaten by Haly :(

This appears to be an actual spoiler strategy now lol

No video coverage of GP Indy- Sad me.

I've gotten really used to watching the streams while I do other things, and watching the Top 8 on my couch. Hope that they will continue to stream more of the Euro GPs over the next year.

Their own fault. Terrible scheduling for this and San Antonio.

Little rules question here, do enter the battlefield abilities count as activated abilities? One of my buddies runs a pretty good flicker deck and I was wondering if Linvala would be able to counter it

fyi: I know Torpor Orb specifically targets etb effects too, I'm just curious

Sorry, I know that is a ton of cards, I was just trying to cover all my bases with the types of cards I have. I still have a nice amount more White and Blue cards from mostly 2013 with some Innisrad-Avacyn and a couple extra RTRs in case you guys want to make any other suggestions, but I tried to pick out some of what I thought was the best stuff.

Any suggestions of what cards are great and which ones are terrible or just flat out the best deck out of this list would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Another card, this time spoiled on Daily MTG (I can't find it myself, but my twitter and facebook feeds say it's there somewhere).

Edit: woops, totally missed the Xmas present in the corner of Maro's article's picture on the main page. There it is.

Now that is some nice CA. Too bad she's 4 mana, I think she's a bit costly for competitive play. Although I suppose her body will be growing pretty quickly.

I can definitely see a broken combo deck in Modern around her though.

If she was brought in with say 7 other humans bigger than 1/1 at the same time with an Angel of Glory's Rise, would she trigger for each one?

Edit: Figure the picture should be on this page.
Nope. You have to chain her up the ladder. (Intervening If clauses apply both on initial activation of the ability and are checked again on resolution.)

Huh. I figured it would be like what happens when multiple Glimmerpost enter the battlefield at once. Weird.

I feel like her seeming role as "crazy effect that triggers off of your creature ETBs" is currently filled better by Champion of Lambholt, but someone is going to try and break her

Time to go 5c Angel of Glory's Rise.

Kind of a waste of the art though, I was hoping this girl would be simic guildmage.

Gavony Township!

My main gripe is that she doesn't do anything upon coming into play. Having to wait one turn for value really sucks.

^^ gotcha. Thanks for the heads up ^^

Guess it depends on how you play her? She'd work well if you have the extra mana with a Dryad Militant, and extra mana shouldn't be too big a problem in a green deck. Heck, GW Humans could go Bant to make use of her tech, who knows.

With 5 mana open I'd rather play Swagtusk :x.

She's just in a really awkward spot. 3cc would've been a lot better I think, since you could drop her on turn 2 off any mana dork and then start the value train.
