Perhaps when KH 1.5 and FFXIV 2.0 are launched we could, finally, get some info about these kind of projects.

It will probably go into full development when FF versus 13 is released.

It went into development after Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix started but was announced first. Sony probably pressured Square into announcing it well before it was ready.

Thinking about that, it's pretty sad that Sony pressure can only get a multi-platform HD port from a company as integral to the fabric of PlayStation platforms like Square Enix. : /

I pretty much bought a Vita only for P4G and FFX remake with other games sort of just like a nice bonus. Well, P4G kind of sort of soften the wound but I'd still be pretty pissed if Square pulled the plug on FFX remake.

There's no doubt in my mind whether or not FFX will be released on Vita. Sony should be pressuring Square to get the Vita version out first, and to make a spiffy bundle with it.

So the main reason people think it is canceled is because it is likely delayed and has had no formal announcement/marketing? Game looks quite far along to be canceled.

Was a formal date ever really released? Amazon says by end of year 2013, gamestop says 3/2013, Wiki pages say 2013. The only place that said 12/31/12 was on Sony site, which was likely a estimate (as it is end of year 2012)

They never announced a release date or window IIRC, but after Sony took Idol Minds off the project and it later slipped away into nothingness, it's hard to stay positive about it. The last we heard was from last April when they did that and put Sony San Diego to finish it. The video just confuses the situation more with Idol Minds still appearing on it.

It looks fantastic in that video, so I still have hope they won't cancel it, especially considering it was shown at their presser, but they have cancelled games they've shown at pressers before, and even during their prime/PS2 era.

No. It was popular in Canada, but we're a much smaller market.

It's listed as Japan-only because an international release hasn't been confirmed yet.

Its not that the Vita has no games. Its that most of them don't make it over here.

The Vita is still less than a year old in the west, and it's hardly unusual for Japanese games to take longer than that to come out here. Several recent PSP releases like Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, Elminage Original and Ragnarok Tactics are all older than the Vita itself for example.

Sony hasn't localized Japanese third party games regularly in years. Outside of Malicious (which has a Vita version) I think you have to go back to the PS1 to find SCEA doing that. SCEE is better in that regard, but not by a lot.
